Went to baskin robin to eat ice cream. Direct deduct from my existing points. 400 points =RM 1. Is it worth ?
It is equal to 0.025% cash back. I just wonder majority of people spending on VS card, which category are you all spend on? VS is my main card, but I start to wonder whether it is wise to use this card. Cash rebate on petrol is good. But I just can't spend RM 1760 every month on petrol to maximise my cash back.

Probably it is not about maximizing the CB. It is fine if you really do spend 1760 on petrol and groceries every month though.

Well, rm1760 indeed are a bit hard for some. Why not opt for the lower end Ikhwan card? rm1000 for petrol and groceries while the rest you still can earn TP except government transactions. Just that you have to plan properly as only Friday and Saturday you can earn cash backs.
MBB's TP already devalued and 400Tp = rm1 is the norm.
And to enjoy AF free for this card is, you need to spend rm4000 every month and another month is rm2000 extra.

Personally I feel it's really not worth it.

I qualified for waiver last year meaning expenditure more than RM50k, but only received RM900 in total (this is the 5% cashback plus redemption of treat points). That's less than 2% total return.

This year I definitely won't qualify for waiver because I spread my expenditure across better yielding cards.

I will be cancelling my VS when it comes up for renewal unless they waive AF or lower annual spending to something more reasonable like RM20k.

Groceries and petrol obviously. laugh.gif
Since I won't keep Wise anymore, this card will be my primary usage for these two categories while Ikhwan will be kept in drawer for one year. laugh.gif

if can control groceries and petrol usage on fri and sat and usage less than RM1000 monthly. Ikhwan will be sufficient and can get 5% cash back.

No need to apply this visa signature which need to pay for annual fee for second year onward unless you spend the min RM50K yearly.

Agreed - I would apply the same strategy like you. Always take advantage of benefits when they are around and then cancel if AF outweigh benefits. innocent.gif
