QUOTE(Mavik @ Jul 18 2021, 04:25 PM)
I believe what is holding them back are actually the numbers and volume. For example, when I spoke to some folks in a local bank who implemented Samsung Pay, the numbers were just too low. This is because after cutting through the population of Android users, it's then specific to Samsung phones and then certain Samsung phones. Since the launch of Samsung Pay then until now, the eWallets have grown tremendously and they did a lot of the heavy lifting, like A LOT of heavy lifting, which is MERCHANT acquisition and training. Most of the time if you want to pay with Samsung Pay which you can pay with it, the staff at the retail outlets or shops probably don't know that they work. This is what eWallets like Grab, Boost, TnG and FAVE have been investing in training the merchant staff on how to handle it. The more trained they are in any of those platforms, the more they will easily accept it.
*
TLDR
Sounds like it’s the merchant staffs’ problem that they do not want/not eager to learn. Ever since I had my AP activated and I went to like 7-11 or 99, I always have to say “card” or “wave” then only they understand. If I did say like, “bayar fon”, they will instantly ask you which eWallet. So tbh, jus tell the staff u wan to pay with card or wave, then it’s fine already.

As for the SP, it’s mmg Sammy’s fault. Only certain number of phones can use SP and not everyone can use it. On the other hand, AP is literally on every iPhone (after 6/6s. Cnt rmb which) so technically, AP would have a higher success rate compared to SP. Although SP and AP are similar, they can’t really be compared as their spread/influence is different.

And tbh, after seeing what Thebestscammer ‘s reasoning, it makes a little to no sense for banks to launch it this year as everyone is staying home but hey, once the vaccination rate goes up, who knows the gov will open more sectors and people will start heading out again. Also, who knows maybe this year’s iPhone and Watch launch in MY will launch tgt with AP which maybe it is in Apple MY’s roadmap. I’ve been seeing AARs spamming with reasons why ppl should buy AW or even showing they can buy AW with instalments. Prior to this, they have not been heavily promoting AW at all so why the sudden mass promoting?

Ok I just realised this reply is no longer a TLDR. 😂 It’s now a TLLR (too long lazy read)

Apple Pay is going to be launch in Malaysia soon, likely by the end of this year. This is an insider news from someone working in the Bank industry.

In case any of the banks are doing market research/interest checks, I must say I'm looking forward to this!

Which bank? Tiger? Abit more specific pls. Last year got a similar post as this in this thread (in the spoiler) and at last, no news about it.

Go to Wise and then choose Debit Card option. Not thru BigPay app. Use ur BigPay 16 digits and expiry and CVV.
As for the DBS Bank trick, still, try to contact CS for further clarification and explicitly mention BigPay MALAYSIA otherwise, they might assume BigPay SG.
Topap with CC?!  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif u will be charged an extra 5% on top of the xchange rate given by the bank.

Was looking through this thread.
So I guess I’ll spill the beans here, last year I was told by someone working in Tiger, then another from PB related person that they are looking to implement Apple Pay. The PB guy even said something about updating the shop terminals to support upcoming Apple Pay. And coincidentally the update for Apple Pay setting also showed up in our phones not long after that, and even an article about it showed up in soyacincau, so I thought that was it and it was definitely coming. But apparently time passes by and nothing was implemented. So sorry about that, don’t really mean to spread fake news or anything.

But my guess is that it might be delayed. I didn’t catch up with them on this news anymore and also given up hope. But then now there are sources in this thread saying it’s coming end of the year.

Hi, sorry was busy with online classes hahhaha

Here's a step by step instruction to apply N26

Applying for N26 Account

1. Set up a "Tiptrans" account, is a forwarding service to get your physical card
2. Get your "german address" from tiptrans
3. Download N26
4. Apply N26 account but setup your country as Germany but your nationality as Malaysian
5. There will be a step where you have to video call them for them to verify your identity
6. Have your Malaysian passport ready, they will want to see EVERYTHING on it to verify your identity
7. Properly Set up your address and Name proparly (as Below)(But with your info and tiptrans address details)

Name : Your name and Lastname

Address : Tiptrans, "Your name and Lastname", Set #xxxxxx
Hauptstrasse 20
Zip : 02727
City : Neugerdorf, Sachsen
Country : Germany

8. Having your correct name is important for future Bank transfer as Banks wants the name to match 1-to-1 for personal transfer if needed
9. Having your Address setup correctly the first time to receive your card on time
10. After you have been verified, topup your account (min 20Euro) but I suggest more as this is the only time you can topup without any fees
11. After successfully toping up, you have access to your N26 Virtual card
12. Change you iPhone Region to Singapore, and now you can add your N26 Virtual Card to Apple Pay
13. After adding your card, you can change back to Malaysia (Not needed btw)
14. Your Virtual card is valid for only 30 days, so getting your physical card forwarded on time is important

Forwarding the physical card

"Assuming you have entered the correct address details"
1. Your card should arrive at TipTrans Germany around 7 days
2. They will charge you 10Usd for receiving your card
3. Now you have to set up foe them to send that card to you in Malaysia
4. Choose "Czech Post" as that is the cheapest option
5. Pay them up, Total cost would be around RM70-100 for everything
6. Wait around 10-20 days
7. After getting your card in the mail, Just an envelope, Activate the card in the app
8. You have to use that card at an ATM before that card is fully activated
9. Withdraw some money from ATM using that card, then that card will be fully activated and usable to use at any terminal in Malaysia
10. Note : Yes, that card only use 4 pin number, not 6 pin number like Malaysian Debit card

How to topup N26 Card
1. You can topup directly using your debit/credit card in the app but there is a 3% fee and a minimun of 20Euro topup
2. Some cards will give you error when toping up, so I Suggest using TransferWise
3. For TransferWise, use the "Bank Transfer" option in the N26 app, they will list out all the info needed
4. Sign Up for TransferWise, verify your identity (This one be truthful, no need to lie hahhaha) Will take few days
5. Enter all the info for bank transfer from N26 app
6. First transfer will take a few days as they want to verify your identity, but after the first one, the transfers is instant

Hi, can anyone with a SG Wise card and a Garmin watch try to link it for Garmin Pay.

From their FAQ:
"Can I add my Wise card to Garmin Pay or Fitbit Pay?

At the moment, you can only add your card to Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay if your address is in Australia, EEA, the UK, New Zealand, Singapore, or Switzerland."

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I called at 4pm sharp. got connected and successfully verified!

Thanks bro.

Just two questions.

1) Is the charges on exchange rate high per transaction?

2) my iPhone and Apple watch will work on any paywave enable terminal?

Thank you

During the verification process, what questions been asked? Did they ask you these?:
a. Where do you live in Germany?
b. How long have you been in Germany?
c. What did you do in Germany? Etc

You're welcome, if you have used my referral code, if you made a single purchase 15 Euros or more, I'll get a small referral reward  thumbup.gif

I was able to register for Curve last year (Deactivated it since not using it) but I tried again this year to no avail. They have more strict rules and won't accept N26 card for registration, so I think that's a dead end.

Yeah you can add the N26 card to your wife's phone

Managed to complete till step 11. Done top up 50£. My bad accidentally uninstall the app in the paired device. Once I have reinstall it says it has unpaired. To pair I need to 10 digit token on the cards. There's no way to view the virtual card now. & also could not get the physical one because I have not yet requested for the card on app. Damn.
