i hate some merchant will need to store ur cc info when request for paywave =.=
They said boss bagitau mau key into system.

Then i dun have physical card with me (paying using samsung pay)
*
yeah because their merchant card terminal isn't connected to their Point of Sales (POS) system and the card number is needed to reconcile the accounts at the end of day or end of week or end of month.

In the meantime of counting down Apple Pay launching
Let's start for some fun discussion tongue.gif

Assume your common use bank card is able to add to Apple Pay
Are you going not to bring that card when going out?

In an extremely case,
Assume all your bank card is able to add to Apple Pay
will you going to put only 2 cards (IC + driving license) in your wallet?
Putting 100% truth on Apple Pay

I hv been using SPay for sometime now due to no Apple Pay at the moment. Contactless payment is great even with SPay.
My experience is that bring IC, driving licence and access card (home if u use one) normally is enough. I don’t have any issue with purchasing so far. But, for starter if Apple Pay is available just backup 1 CC in ur wallet in case some shops still not ready to accept. But, chances u will never use that CC.
I will be using Apple Pay once it is officially available. Hmm, shld i just say paywave or Apple Pay when i want to pay. 🤔

I don't really have a CC so I'll add all of my debit card into AP, and bring one physical card for ATM withdrawal in case of an emergency.
For the rest I'll just store my IC + DL and physical debit card to a ridge wallet, and maybe 50 ringgit cash and nothing else.

All transactions will be done via AP first, then TnG E-Wallet, and if both of the cashless method are not supported, only then I'll use my cash.

if not mistaken wave with pin can above 250 smile.gif for using card not AP
i never use to wave and pay item more than 250

There is an instance where AP may not work for purchases above RM250 eventhough the PIN is entered.

If one were to make a purchase above RM250 at a jewelery store in MY (ex Poh Kong, etc), their terminal will reject your PIN even though it is correctly entered if no physical cc is present.

How does credit card benefit work with AP? If I add let's say card that have dining cashback. Does using it with AP still eligble for that? The transaction show AP deduct or directly merchant (the dinning place)?

It should work. Cuz remember, AP is just a wallet instead of a payment processor. That means whatever Apple Pay is, the transaction will still go through the bank’s network, eventually. And from there bank will be able to see every details of your transaction (using their own private decryption key on top of AP’s encrypted trans), hence would be able to grant you any reward according to their current promos.

Therefore this is also why bank’s participation is even more important than Apple’s role. How those transactions will be handled are all on banks’ side (hence setting up their own AP backend). Apple is just a solution provider, whereas our banks are the implementers.

I have added my oversea card to S20+ (Samsung Pay), S22 Ultra (Google Pay) and AP with ip 13 Pro Max. To be honest AP is the fastest one with one tap and the payment is done.

S20+ and S22 Ultra need to adjust the phone position and distance from card reader while ip 13 Pro Max can handle it without an error.

3 times I've failed to tap with my S22 Ultra at Lotus's (CIMB merchant) but the same phone works with McD card reader (Maybank merchant).

I never encountered any error while using AP at Lotus's, McD or any store that support paywave even though I am using the same card with all my 3 phones.

Depends on the policy of the restaurant, some want to see it physically but usually when its paid through their POS system.

Some places wan physical card, though that might change with the introduction of AP.
Still going to bring my cards along with me especially my AmEx ones as SOME terminals only accept chip entry for AmEx.
Once I feel more and more comfortable with my usual places, MAYBE I will start leaving it at home.
My wallet will then only have
1) IC
2) Driving License
3) 2-3 CCs (for PPL access or AmEx as per reasoning above)
4) 1 debit card of red bank (cash withdrawal incase there's no HLB or MBB ATM nearby for cardless withdrawal)
5) Enhanced TnG. (Come on TnG, put it in AP pls)

AP = wave. Look for those rewards or campaigns or what so ever that says "wave only transactions are counted".
As for the merchant side, depends. You see, sometimes we scan a DNQR with Grab, the merchant just prints out the receipt stating we paid via TnG. So, it really depends but iinm when I started using Wise x AP, I saw the terminal receipt printed Visa (Wise card's network) on the paper.
