Yes, as the owner of the credit/debit card, you set the limits (provided your bank allows you to set it of course).

In the meantime of counting down Apple Pay launching
Let's start for some fun discussion tongue.gif

Assume your common use bank card is able to add to Apple Pay
Are you going not to bring that card when going out?

In an extremely case,
Assume all your bank card is able to add to Apple Pay
will you going to put only 2 cards (IC + driving license) in your wallet?

no, I feel like the opposite is better right? CC should live in Apple Pay so can leave that at home, but bring debit card to withdraw from ATM in case of emergency...

what happened when it failed and merchant want to use physical card. i seldom withdraw money from ATM. MBB and HLB can withdraw without card.
If travel oversea, must bring 2 CC as 1 may fail to scan. depend on merchant. My friend panic when his MBB cannot use to do verification for hotel. need to pay cash. USD 900+. almost 4k cash & some more oversea. hard to find atm and some more midnight

My way, put NRIC, driving license and a RM100 note for standby in apple magsafe wallet. Apple Pay and Maybank cardless withdrawal and Mae QR payment to serve all purpose

Once we have AP I would only bring:
- IC
- License
- Debit card
- Main credit card
- Few cash

Will no longer bring my secondary cc as hoping that I can rely on Apple Pay. Once I confident enough, I will leave my main cc at home too, I guess?

Will see how mafan it is first for the first month. I know some merchant put their terminal hidden and so hard to tap one. Zzzzz.

I have been waiting for Apple Pay as I migrated from Samsung last year. To me I will still bring all my cards and cash as usual based on experience, just that the whole idea of this mobile payment for me is reducing the need to pull out your wallet. Example: you are already holding your phone throughout your shopping, then upon checking out you just tap your phone, instead of putting your phone away and taking out your wallet. Some shops dont use paywave especially rural areas. So best to bring physical card 👍

Don't need NFC, just use the mobile banking app to get the code, go to the ATM and get the cash out. I have personally tried it with both Maybank and Hong Leong bank here.

the real deal for me is that the card details stored in AP is not accessible to merchants

this is really important to me cuz there are instances where merchant employees manually key in card details to their POS which have no enhanced data security managements

and even some companies ahem got data breach be it online or offline POS

so in the end for me

- Apple Pay for All CC.
- 2 physical CC for merchant's that don't support AP.
- 1 Debit card
- Cash + IC & DL

Ah yeah if its the same as Samsung Pay, for the cards in Apple pay they will have a different 16 digits number too. Less chance to get card skimmed by unauthorized party if you pay by apple Pay

For me, I will bring all my DB/CC in case it won't work or the cashier asked for physical (I have experienced on this and yes.. they asked my card).
But I will always use Apple Pay first before I go pickup my Wallet. biggrin.gif
