Apple Pay is going to be launch in Malaysia soon, likely by the end of this year. This is an insider news from someone working in the Bank industry.

I’m gonna put my reputation in this forum on the line, the Apple Pay will launch in Malaysia in January 2022, possibly with the iOS 15.2 update.

Expect somewhere around August/September based on the project deferment.
They have been upping their game and requirement recently. Not so easy to get their OK recently.

We are in the second half of 2022 already. Any news on Apple Pay in our beloved country? It's really is frustrating.

This and Apple's damn insistence on the lightning connector for the charging port are the only reason I'm still using a Samsung phone. Being in the Apple ecosystem and using an Android phone is pure hell.

Guys, my friend from Ipay88 just forward me his invitation meeting mentioning "ApplePay Integration stand-up Meeting". It means that the Apple Pay will and definitely be coming very soon to our country! Sorry I can't disclose any details or  the picture that he snap as it was meant for Internal communication only.  

Actually the service is available here in Malaysia, just whether the local banks and POS terminal providers want to participate only. For example, Singaporeans can come here and pay with Apple pay on their iPhone at any of the local POS terminals (which uses the NFC functionality)

I know the exact date when it will launch, but I can’t tell you. Hopefully there won’t be any hiccups like earlier in the year. As far as i know, only one bank will be supporting apple pay at launch.
