Interesting. What do you mean by pre-register and pre-auth? What extra stuff do we still need to do as a consumer other than just adding our plastic to Apple Wallet/Pay?

If I had to guess with nokia2003's post, I'd assume that your card has already been pre-auth to be for added to AP, like how SP requires you to get authorization.

Or he's talking about tokenization which for some banks, there's a need to call the bank to do that. I tried added my RHB card to SPay on a US version of S10+(SM-G975U1) and had to get the tokenization done with RHB CS. After that it's added automatically to my SPay cards list.

My old tiger card didn't work with it(The black one with the cherry), after getting my card replaced with a new card(The silver with cherry one), it added instantly after getting an auth code from tiger. That's what I assume with older cards moving foward, they won't be able to be added to AP/SP, and only newer issued cards will work, but that's just my theory.

The best thing about Apple pay is being able to use it on your Apple Watch, especially when you want to top up your petrol, it takes less than 2s to double click and tap your apple watch at the terminal. This works even if you forget to bring your iPhone with you.

yes exactly the feature i have been craving for, i have been in UK, in UK even taking bus/train, they can just tap their apple watch on the terminal for in & out, let alone normal retail payment, petrol etc

just pay with ur watch, instead of having to
1) unlock ur phone, tap into the app, click here and there, wait for face authentication or password authentication
2) take out ur wallet, take out ur card, tap, put back ur card

In the UK it's even easier if you activate, express transit. You won't have to double click anything because your iphone will basically function like a touch & go card

I think the  pay is mainly for small amount fast checkout purpose. I don’t think you want a big amount transaction with simply ‘wave’ over the POS terminal. I have been using the  pay for my daily needs in both SG and MY without any problems. I believe this will be the same as in MY when it is launched later.

Wow, I actually got something right for once haha. But point me out if I’m wrong here, if I had to guess, the pilot/pre-release period will be anywhere from 2 weeks - 1/2 months, and official launch will be after that period? So fastest date for it to go live to the general public will be start of Oct/Nov?

It shouldn’t be a problem Mr. President as the Malaysia  pay has been activated by  itself since the earlier version of iOS, the problem remains at the bank authorisation (card issuer) to link in  wallet.
