You mentioned "update online banking & socmed only can use already". Does this mean that your bank needs to inform Apple to like "yay we got approval. let's go prod!"? Because based on that JSON file I found on Reddit, it seems like Apple needs to update it first before you guys can "update online banking & socmed", otherwise, our Apple devices will not allow us to proceed/add card into Wallet since it cannot find "MY" inside.

Xavier on twitter said they will open another sign petition, I think he have insider told him that bxm not approve yet cause he said he will ask the status and see if need another petition last month, and he mention this time petition will involve bxm haha, I don’t think this sign petition will gonna help and don’t think Apple Pay will make it before Q1 2022

That guy very potong 1 la. At first also I look at him like wow, but then later, potong. Buka petition and involve BxM ok lo. Sign lo. Do you think even doing all these BxM will care? As Mavik says, it's up to the banks to confidently reply to BxM counter questions.

This is due to pass grouping, note that Generic, Store Card, and Coupon passes with the same group may appear
grouped on Apple Wallet. This is one of the reasons I dislike Pass2U, once you place your pass in a group; it will stay in that group. You can’t edit it after making it. While MakePass allows you to do it.

Automatic Update is suppose to be for apps that support Apple Wallet. So examples you would enable Automatic Update is like when your membership card gained/loss points.

According to the Globalstats counter, Apple has the 3rd largest share in Palestine at 14%. Samsung is top at 41% followed by Xiaomi at 33% and then Apple.

https://gs.statcounter.com/vendor-market-sh...inian-territory

In Israel, the marketshare by operating system is still heavily favoured to Android with Android capturing the market at 73% whilst iOS has a 26% share.

MY with 25% and yet, AP nowhere to be found.

TH: 29% (No AP)
SG: 24% (Have AP)
CN: 20% (Have AP), population wise, should be ok la.
TW: 47% (Have AP)
HK: 48% (Have AP)

Nothing to do with how many % per country is using iPhone. See your bank only. More pressure from the people (or top mgmt is tech savvy or futuristic) then only they will implement this.
I wonder how many days already since creep's bank submitted written reply to BNM. Nothing yet from BNM?

At this point, I'm just gonna go ahead mentioning BNM already.

I wasn't saying that there is a correlation between marketshare to implementation. I was just sharing the stats to Faizalman.

I seriously wonder why some folks here are so hard up wanting to use Apple Pay. I hope the banks don't bother with it. Having this feature is extra work with zero the ROI.

Yeah the marketing cost for a big launch doesn't justify the business case or ROI. Cheaper to utilise existing channels to promote rather than buying ad space

the ROI is being able to use apple's brand name. being the first bank in msia that supports AP is going to gain some traction and even some CC sign ups if they roll out support for CC first then only DC so that way those that wants to be able to flex using AP will apply for CC if they dont already have it.

If they really want to milk money out of people they can say AP will only support this particular CC at the moment and more cards to come later so people would sign up for that specific CC

Maybe you are just downplaying the possible trend that AP could bring in msia due to inexperience or just stubborn. maybe I'm wrong and the ROI indeed will suck, who knows

but im still not convinced that creep's insider info is real lol. Feel like lots of buzzwords were thrown and those that really want AP to come is gobbling it up like mad. it's not going to come to msia in 2022 and most definitely not before Q1 2022. I'm just puling this statement out of my ass. I would like to use AP in msia but the gov and every FI have their heads so far up e-wallet's ass I doubt they will bring AP. The infra is there already, merchants dont need to update their old terminal as it already support NFC for years but yet its still not here.

Maybe 2 years after the first official apple store opens in msia it might happen but its just a hunch that I pulled out of my ass.

Depending on the size of the base of customers, my past projects with the credit card teams, most credit cards users are not profitable and those that are profitable are <RM1000 over 5 years. Which is why it really becomes a volume game. Most of the time, customers who are smart to utilise the cards fall under the segment which typically "game" the system. They have multiple credit cards for the cashbacks, promos and points and constantly repay back within the stipulated time. Mostly revenue comes in is actually through merchant transaction fees.

I don't doubt that AP will eventually be available but don't expect large amounts of investment in both time and money by the banks to push this out. I would say it will become part of a BAU release without being at the top priority of management project reports.
