hi guys, was wondering if anyone have experience of using Yokoso Sim ?

Im travelling for a month so internet sim seems more affordable than a wifi router. Buying from SG for the 91 days sim, and it's less than RM200.
*
i purchase the same sim also for my trip this year, first time user for this sim also...from reviews seems to be good, my summer trip to japan last year me and 3 of my friends all purchase different data sim to use all of them good coverage...the only difference is supported phone and how "leceh" to set the data...other slot in restart phone ok...while other gotta set setting etc

any tips on Nikko?
im doin trip from Tokyo to Nikko for a day trip.

Japan guide say Chuzenji Lake is best on Mid-October. (an hour bus ride >1k yen)
i rounded my plan, earliest ride (my JR pass still active) shinkansen to Utsunomiya then JR Nikko train to Nikko.

bus ride to Chuzenji (or perhaps Ryuzu Fall but there are more bus to Chuzenji Onsen area, Kegon Waterfall than further down) n back to visit Toshugu-ji n return to Tokyo.
I would probably wont have time for Kirifuri Waterfall.

or skip Chuzenji part. stick around Toshugu area (few temple near it, Kanmangafuchi Abyss, Botanical Garden) n perhap visit Kirifuri Waterfall.

Rennoji is under renovation. so will skip it.

Anyone going Hokkaido in the next 2-3 weeks? Autumn leaf viewing time!!! #throwback some of my favorite pics from my trip last year. Won't be as nice as all the other 'sifu' in the last few threads but will try my best anyway!!!

Cape Kamui (the path to the lighthouse was closed due to strong winds/rain)

I planning to overnight at Arima Onsen. I try to look around, most of the Ryokan Onsen cost a bomb.

Any recommendation with budget ~RM1000 (25k yen)/room for 2 pax included Kobe beef dinner?

And I did research and understand, those with tattoo are not allow in Onsen. Any onsen that you guys come across that allow?

25K with Kobe beef and 2 person, I dont think so. Even for 1 people its difficult. If you are in Japan look for Matsuzaka beef instead of Kobe Beef. These beef are higher rank and only available in Japan and not exported.

Thanks. Anyhow, decided to scrap the plan of overnight there. Would spend the money on meal instead.

Finally, done the itinerary covered Kyoto/Osaka/Kobe. For Kyoto, I use their bus services (500Yen per day). Kindly advice:-

1. Should I go for KTP instead for Kyoto/Osaka. If yes, I can move my Kobe to 2nd Nov.
2. Can't find back Tips of the Month. Any recommendation of Kaiseki Kobe Beef in Kobe?
3. I understand Japan Onsen rules whereby tattoo not allowed. any private Onsen that you guys been allowed tattoo?

Google or AirBnB must be somewhere else in Arima area to stay or just come back down to Kobe.

Often, the Kobe beef specials include lots of other extraneous stuff besides the beef. You might be paying for beer, vegetables, salmon, even the reputation and ambience of the famous old place and the show the cook puts on. I had a taste of excellent Wagyu cheek meat in an appetizer in a KL restaurant, and it was better than what I had in Kobe. You can even buy a chunk in the supermarket and DIY if you have access to a kitchen, maybe a small disposable charcoal hibachi BBQ.

If a smallish tattoo, cover it with waterproof bandages. They might even sell sheets of it near the onsen.

PS: This one kind of expensive but you'll probably find something else if lookaround: http://www.japantrendshop.com/tattoo-cover...ers-p-3140.html

why not overnight in Nikko. Eventhough it can be done on a day trip, but Nikko has so much to offer. Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall is a must to go since you are in Nikko already. Consider to get the 2 days pass =http://www.tobu.co.jp/foreign/en/pass/twoday.html

Japan is perfect for solo travelers. You can either just post here saying looking for traveling partners or in the thread dedicated to looking for backpacking partners.

Otherwise, exploring, experimenting and trial and error is all just part of the fun of traveling.

solo is best when doing onsen for the first timer brows.gif

my best advise to u, use google maps... 100% u wont lost
-> use it to bookmark everything 🌟
-> they even hv train schedule and price
-> if u prefer to walk, u just need to follow the directional toward ur bookmark

also
-> subscribe pocket wifi
-> bring powerbank

Good news to those visiting Japan and worry about language problem. There is an app that lets you talk into your smartphone, it will then translate to Japanese speech. Japanese speakers can use the same app translate Japanese back to the language that you set - English, Mandarin, Indonesian, etc,
You can also input text.

Note that this is not just a Japanese <-> English translator but you can set to other languages as well - eg Mandarin to Korean, etc.
