in tokyo where exactly u planned to go?
coz inner tokyo if u ride alot it is recommended to use metro pass wink.gif
or if u travel less... no need to use any pass at all

eg.
Day 1,2,3 -> tokyo metro pass (only inner city, cant use in outer city eg disney, odaiba, nakano, etc)
Day 4,5 -> fuji hakone pass combo with romance car
*
Not finalize yet but probably:
Day 1 - (Wide Pass 3days) Shinjuku gyoen park> Akihabara> Imperial Palace & Imperial garden > Ginza > Disneyland > Shinjuku
Day 2 - Shinjuku >Tokyo Metropolitan Building > Meiji Shrine > harajuku > Shibuya > Odaiba > Shinjuku
Day 3 - Around Shinjuku > few place > Hakone ( Fuji Hakone Pass)
Day 4 - Hakone > Kawaguchiko
Day 5 - Kawaguchiko (wide pass 3days) > Yokohama > Few place
Day 6 - Yokohama > Few Place> Yokohama
Day 7 - Yokohama > Few Place > Late night flight.

Still working on my itinerary, basically i plot the place to go before connecting the route sweat.gif

Thanks for the map. Normal people allocate fullday for disney as they got ample time but I don't have enough time to cover all place laugh.gif
For Disneysea, I will take after 6 passport for 4200yen. Need to calculate my time, if cannot reach disney around 6pm then i need to cut one place and put it to other days sweat.gif
Edit : do i need to buy metro pass as well?

Hi all,

Would like to ask a quick question here, can anyone comment on Tokyo weather if I wish to travel at end of August?

I have a solo trip plan to Tokyo and originally prefer to travel either during Spring or Autumn, however I want to attend an Anisong concert that will be held in August, and just checking if I can combine the 2 trip into 1.

I not really have a good resistance to hot weather but from the weather temperature, it seem to be quite similar to Malaysia, so just asking for some opinions if it is still bearable for the Summer.

Thank!

Sorry, I mean the discounted Haruka ticket with ICOCA. The discounted ticket can purchase in Osaka? (Osaka to KIX) And it is not only for new ICOCA card?
*
Its the same thing. Haruka tickets starts from 1.1k yen, then you just add on 2k yen for the icoca card itself, which consists of 1.5k yen credit and 500 yen deposit, which can be claimed back once you return the ICOCA card.
Just think it like addon, but the addon is no difference with buying them separately.

Note:
You are not purchasing the ticket through online payment. For haruka case, you are just plainly reserve the ticket. I think the only main point about the reservation is to make sure supply of ICOCA card is sufficient there.
You still have to go to their office in KIX once you arrived to make your payment and get the ticket with ICOCA card.
Better just go there and buy the ticket itself better.

You can choose either buy single or return ticket, but return ticket only valid for 14 days.
All you need to do is just tell the receptionist the station you are going and the station that you will be taking on your departure day. They will do the calculation and give you the ticket.
Same here, single and return ticket price is the SAME, so no difference between buying single ticket and return ticket. The only difference is that you have to go to certain station to buy haruka ticket if you bought only the single ticket, but you are not bound to 14 days validity period.

All their service counter are listed under the website itself, you can buy the ticket anytime from these counter, but passport have to be presented when buying.

This is their website.

I see... thank you for the explanation! notworthy.gif This is because I see that the normal price for Haruka at Hyperdia is 1710yen (tennonji to kiX, unreserved) while the discounted is only 1100. I was wondering whether I must purchase the return ticket or else I won't be able to buy it (with discoount)later on.

To go all the way and just do 1/2 day in disney sea? You go there just for the 20mins fireworks? It will be very rush and I am not sure if you will be able to enjoy your holidays. Unless of course you are doing Amazing race.

Metro pass allows you only to take Metro Line and not JR line. If you buy it then you really have to plan your trip well. Sometimes JR Line and Metro Line can take you from point A to point B but JR is faster. Or will walking and you decide to move to point B, JR is right infront but metro is 10 mins walk away.

if you are staying in Namba, the nearest way will be the nankai railway, rapi:t train from Shinimamiya, Tengachaya and Namba station.
Fee is around 1.4k yen, but now you can get for 1.1k yen for limited express train, as they have this kankou tokuwari ticket bundle promotion.

Note again: Limited express tickets are selling on top of normal train ticket, which means that you buy normal train ticket then top up another fee to enjoy limited express train.
in this kankou tokuwari ticket bundle, they included both for you.

Morning sifus,

I just need to find a natural onsen / ryokan with attached open bath around yamanashi / kanagawa area. So far those outdoors are either very expensive (above 20k yen) or very far and deep. Being a tourist, should i rent a car and drive instead? My budget is about 15k yen per person per night.

Kinda trying to find somewhere quiet and peaceful.

Thanks ya!

Hello all!

I'm planning for 11 days 10 nights trip! On November
From 7th-17th

There's a few questions wanna ask..

Do I need to carry thick shirts and umbrella? I'm not really sure would it be cold although according to the information I found it's around 15c-23c.
Need some good advice on this.

My flight is departing from KUL - OSAKA

7th-11th staying in OSAKA

Planning to take night bus to Tokyo on the 11th, so I should be arriving in Tokyo in the morning where I actually save cost for 1 night.

12th-14th staying in Tokyo

Leaving on the 14th from Tokyo to Kyoto

14th-17th

on the 17th I'll be going back to Osaka and back to Msia.

Should I get JR pass?

Any recommendation? Besides about my transports and which location is the best and the location I should be staying at.

Thanks!

Depends if you can tahan the cold or not. I can still live with a tshirt if its 20C. Also if you walk a lot you will sweat and feel hot as well. A normal jacket that you use in Msia should be fine. However with global warming no one will no for sure how cold/hot. Its middle of summer here in Tokyo but we are getting temperature of less than 20C. Normally its above 30C.

As for JR pass, forget about it if you are already taking the bus from Kyoto to Tokyo. As someone mention its only worth iif at least you travel from Osaka<-> Tokyo using Shinkansen.
No tips on hotel though, as I live in Tokyo

Why don't you combine Osaka and Kyoto together first since you're in the same region, can save on transport by using Kansai Thru Pass (you save some money if you go further day trips to Himeji & Kobe, other than Kyoto and Osaka), and go Tokyo at the beginning or at the end. Kyoto - can buy 1-day bus pass for 500 yen, save a lot and you walk less, compared to subway. Only drawback is, you have to spend slightly more time travelling due to traffic sometimes. For Osaka - can take subway. Back in May, I was staying at Kyoto, air bnb, very cheap and clean room - can definitely explore air bnb option if you want to save on accomodation. Don't stinge on food, lots of good food everywhere.

Take the willer bus express for overnight travel. was actually recommended previously and it's actually comfy for the most expensive type, 1 row has 2 seating + 1 seating. (think it was 10k or so for 1-way)
(be on time, as the bus is actually punctual)

I didnt use JR pass, tokyo was mainly using normal suica / icoca pass? can't remember.. Save money on the transport & accomodation, spend more on food and whiskey drool.gif

lol dafug. why even bother mang, you go and see fantasia and queue one popular ride and finish time liao. either go a full day or don't go.

[edit] I have done the half day 6pm thing, but that's cos my wife is a HUGE Duffy/Shellie-Mae fan. So our only purpose to go is to buy the bears and the clothes. This ticket is not worth it at all otherwise. All the shows will already have stopped, you queue one ride and habis time, need to go get a good spot for watching the Fantasia closing liao.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, the website shows all the haruka stops. For Osaka, it will only stop at two station which is shinosaka and tennoji.
If you are going to JR Namba from Shin osaka, there is no need to take haruka train. Just take the subway will do.
Go for midosuji line, going towards tennoji direction. Exit at tennoji station, then use your google map to walk until JR namba station. Walking will be taking around 7 minutes.

Dont waste your time and money traveling here and there since you only have 10 days in Japan. Spend the time better on exploring all the attractions in both Osaka and Kyoto area first. Just follow what RaptoR mentioned.
Buy everything using your ICOCA card, only if you planned to go to Himeji or Kobe then buy the Kansai Thru Pass, aka KTP.

Thank for your helping.
I am no understand what you mean"For Osaka, it will only stop at two station which is shinosaka and tennoji"..
It that means the Haruka train will stop at shinosaka and tennoji?

I am buying JR rail pass (will use two ways Shinkasen).
I am trying to avoid subway and maximize my JR train to save my transportation fees.

TQ.
