Yeah, Typhoon 18 will miss Tokyo and the next few days will be very cooling. In fact weather for the last few days is really nice.

Sounkyou very touristy in that generally the ryokans/hotels are built to cater for large tour groups de. Anyway I stayed in Choyo Resort, ¥30k/night. Was OK ba, nothing particularly special or anything. More pics on blog if you interested: http://look-see-eat.blogspot.sg/2015/11/ho...nkyo-onsen.html

As for your timing ... a bit neither here nor there leh. You're already way past autumn leaves season so no koyo, yet not quite in winter sports season. See snow definitely can, just go up to daisetsuzan mountains; but those dates possibly the ski resorts haven't started operating yet (depending on your luck whether this year how early the major snow starts falling)
*
Hope 17~19 Oct still able to see Red leaves there.
Will it be very cold there ? i see average temp is 9 degree C.

Looking forward there soon.

Wondering where can i rent Yukata in Sapporo/Biei/Jozankei/Otaru ?

make sure u refuel ur car to full tank whenever is possible

there is a time i traveled from ashikawa to sapporo,
my fuel meter keep on blinking red light...
and the best part... there is no petrol station in sight

lucky it still can run another ~80km
after that i quickly exit to nearest town sweat.gif

the worst part, there is no petrol station there also
i hv to travel to another side of the town after asking around

at that moment i realized, japan hv very few petrol stations doh.gif

Sapporo Mercure is highly recommended hotel. Since you have plenty of travelling days can consider going to Noboribetsu, Otaru and Hakodate too.

I am going there 11/6 - 11/14 let me know how's the weather and road condition rclxms.gif

Thanks for the tips. Did you use cash or ETC on toll ways, or no tolls at all? For refueling petrol, issit cheaper paying cash than using CC? Hopefully it is not snowing yet during my travel period next month else will be troublesome.

I have booked for the last few days at Apa - hotel next to Mercure. If possible will park at the hotel for 1st night before returning rental car the next day.
Will actually use Rusutsu as a base to Noboribetsu , Lake Toya and Niseko but not Hakodate ... too hectic for me. Otaru when I shift from Rusutsu to Sapporo.
I thought I am already late late past Autumn to visit Hokkaido .. guess you're even later ..

I've bought this Japan Data Nano SIM from China but unfortunately only valid until 30/11/2016.
I would like to let it go for RM45 inclusive of postage, if COD the price is RM40 (location at Shah Alam or Subang Jaya).

Detail information can be see from the attached photo.
Thx. smile.gif

Hi guys, I'm planning to have a solo trip to Tokyo next year February 10 - February 17. May I know how's the weather in Tokyo on February? Did some Google and I found this Suica card seems to be the most universal card that can be used on train, vending machine, etc. Which place is best to stay which easy access to train ?

February should be end of winter stage due to slight delay of Japan weather currently. A light jacket should be enough for you travel around there. Suica/Posmo card can be purchased through machine at any JR/Metro station.

In term of easy access to transport. You can stay any major station such as Shibuya/Shinjuku/Ginza
