Sapporo Mercure is highly recommended hotel. Since you have plenty of travelling days can consider going to Noboribetsu, Otaru and Hakodate too.

I am going there 11/6 - 11/14 let me know how's the weather and road condition  rclxms.gif
.....

I have booked for the last few days at Apa - hotel next to Mercure. If possible will park at the hotel for 1st night before returning rental car the next day.
Will actually use Rusutsu as a base to Noboribetsu , Lake Toya and Niseko but not Hakodate ... too hectic for me. Otaru when I shift from Rusutsu to Sapporo.
I thought I am already late late past Autumn to visit Hokkaido .. guess you're even later ..

Hello, can we explore Kyoto in a day trip?
*
Me and my family managed to visit Arashiyama , Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizu on a day trip from Osaka in 2014. Started early in the morning with the first train available from Nipponbashi area and end up late evening with dinner and o-cha ice cream at Gion. Not too rushed as I skipped Fushimi Inari in my original itinerary....

Hi ,

My family went to Hakone on a 1 day trip 2 years back . Not too rushed but definitely excludes other points of interest. Enjoyable although ticket for package is valid for 2 days. You need to start early though. Started from homestay at Shibuya. No time for option in itinerary. Took dinner before going back to Tokyo.

Anyone had experienced existing Central Gate after arriving at Shin Osaka sattion via Haruka Ltd express from Kansai Airport?

Reading from the Shin Osaka Train Station map we arrived at the platform and take an escalator up to the third floor
concourse area. But the problem is the Central Gate is located at the Shinkansen side. So my question is whether are we allowed to walk through the Shinkansen concourse to exit at the Central Gate.

Sifu sifu please help because I am leaving on this coming Saturday.

According to this website and not from my experience ...

http://jprail.com/travel-informations/basi...-and-namba.html

you can use the east exit for conventional line only . I believe this includes track #11 for Limited Express Haruka.

To me an exit is an exit .... biggrin.gif
Have a nice trip ...

If I exit East exit then hoe do I go to the Central Exit and move to the Exit No.6 beside  Modisuji Subway Station ticket gate.

Thanks

Again you can find this on the internet ...

http://www.osakacoronahotel.co.jp/en/access.html

This shows you the way from Central exit to east exit so you will have to reverse the guide's direction.

I learned somewhere that " All exits are connected .. so if you can exit 1 point you can connect to another exit. "

Hi All,

I am planning to Odaiba.
I go through study, I found that there are no subway and no JR operating at the area... Odaiba area are operate by private railway..

May I know is that possible walk from toyosu station?
*
Hi ,

this are my notes from my trip in 2014 ....
*****
Option: Odaiba , Evening or night
To:
Ginza line - Mitsukoshimae >Shimbashi - 7 mins , 2.9km , 170yen or
Ginza line -Shibuya G01 >Shimbashi G08
Yurikamome line - Shimbashi > Daiba , 15mins 320yen
Back to Shibuya - reverse directions.
Direct (indirect) line -Shibuya (JR Saikyo line) >(Osaki transfer)> Tokyo Teleport
(Rinkai line) 17mins
*Aquacity*Fuji TV Bldg*Diver City*Rainbow Bridge*Palette Town
The Yurikamome crosses the Rainbow Bridge to get to Odaiba and offers spectacular views of the harbor and the Tokyo waterfront. Sit or stand at the very front of the train for the most impressive views.
******

I took the subway to Shimbashi and then change to the Yurikamone line for Daiba.

Hi Guys ,

I just came back yesterday from our trip to Hokkaiddo - specifically Sapporo > Asahikawa > Rusutsu > Sapporo.
Throughly enjoyed the trip.
My first look at this thread so would like to share my experience on the above ...

Our group bought quite a few bottles of Sake (Yamakuchi) and other liquors - tax-free in Sapporo . Some decided to check in carefully with their luggage but I decided to hand carry them across Japan custom point. Dont' !!! You will not be allowed past security check - sealed bags or not !! I have to turn back and check those bottles in with a 'where to find right now box " ! Quite unnerving when you are very near boarding time. But plus point to security officer to lead us back to AA check-in counter and allow us to 'jump queue' otherwise ...

No comments on the allowed quantity or tax .. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif . For us all thumbup.gif thumbup.gif after that hiccup.

Can I ask whether the New Chitose Airport duty free shops are open early in the morning? I am taking the flight back to KL from Sapporo via AAX (9.20am).
*
I noticed most of the shops were not opened when we arrived after 7:30am.Took the first Airport Limousine bus 5:29am from Susukino area. By the way the International departure hall are shuttled closed before 7:30 am .We were planning to have breakfast there but no deal. We did bought some stuff from a shop at the entrance area but after that it's such a mad rush that I doubt you will have anytime to do shopping unless you are the very first in line. I took the same 9:20 AA flight. Now I remember why I had 20 minutes less ... nearly forgot to redeem my Kitaca card and the JR counter at BF1 opened in the nick of time when we went down after getting our boarding passes.

Otaru ... mesti lah biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

When we check out from our home stay at Rusutsu we drove via Jozankei to Otaru . All of us like the glasswares there , blink blink , the LeTao cheese puff and cakes and free samples. We also had a big crab lunch at the fish market there .. thumbup.gif

Talking about weather there is nothing we can do if your date of arrival is already booked . Most of the time we were there it is cloudy and raining and cold. But the best part ? It really snowed pretty heavy up in the mountains up north .. example in the Soundkyo region and our group was surprised , happy and excited. A extra bonus to go for an Autumn trip but got to experience their first snowfall. However we could not last staying outside our rental cars for more than a few minutes so most visits are shortened. Our visit to the twin waterfalls was really quick when a sort of snow blizzard started and all the tour buses started leaving ...
