I ordered TL-WR841N on lazada by cash on delivery in RM49 (Discount to RM59 and take RM10 coupon),in this afternoon I just recieved the router, the delivery is fast as I expected and when I open the parcel, the router box is sealed and covered by the another box that is from ookas (quite trust store and I bought a pendrive before). Now I am using the Wi-Fi with that router and so far so good, just when I upload some videos on YouTube, the upload speed is super fast but it just disturb the download speed and the website is load very slow-looks powerful, but can somebody guide me how to change back that upload and download speed are stable(30mbps download and 10mbps upload)?

I mean when I upload videos on YouTube, the upload speed is extremely higher until 20mbps or even 25mbps then the other computer load the website  extreme slow simultaneously.

you are simply causing bufferbloat for your entire network.

Please read:

@fruitie and other 30M users

I tag Fruitie is because I only remember her XDD

Okay, I think I might have explanation/answer for why we as 30M user are NOT getting full 30M of speed nowadays.

From my opinion, TM cares about bufferbloat (or simply just want to save bandwidth?)

Bufferbloat means high latency when a network buffering too much of data (at peak of the speed)

Where you can notice ur skype (VOIP) is not stable, ping (gaming) becomes higher or browsing page seems slow responds when someone downloading/uploading at full speed.

In short,

Bufferbloat = high ping when downloading/uploading at ISP provided full speed

Solution,

Limit the peak download/uploading speed

For example, 30Mbps will be > 28Mbps

That's it, limiting speed.

And yes, speed scarifies but it gives you a more smoother network.

Back to topic,

now TM limiting 30M > 28M, and suprisingly when we do a bufferbloat speed test, my bufferbloat for downloading is good (low), which means bufferbloat solution is applied here.

user posted image

Which also means TM is not limiting our speed in a FIXED value?

If fixed 28M, then if I do bufferbloat speed test, I will get higher ping while downloading.

for example (but this is while uploading la)

user posted image

What I actually means is TM maybe is doing bufferbloat setting in their side (for downloading only)

The end.

Just sharing how SQM works.
----------------------------------

SQM tuned OFF

http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/5076145

SQM turned ON

http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/5076187

if you compare with the above one, both ping is low even when in full speed.

Interesting......hmmm but not everyone is getting around 28Mbps, so how would you explain that?
*
testing for selected user?

and I am guessing only lol

so until now there are some full speed user here?

I am also a full speed user b4, but now already become 28M

Any option will do, But I choose public wifi all the time because the "Fiber" one gives me bad rating.

All the new unifi package now is asymmetrical. Unifi pro is 100Mbps download, 50Mbps upload. Even it's asymmetrical, but i can downloading and uploading with full speed at the same time. Not like streamyx, when u upload with full speed your download speed will get effected.
*
extra info : because streamyx upload speed is too low to achieve both full speed at the same time.

When we download something, we actually also uploading something, that's how TCP/IP (network protocol) works. Vice versa.

The same applies to UniFi as well. TIME also has contract.
Anyway, if you know the way, you can escape paying the penalty even if TIME doesn't pay for that. rolleyes.gif

interesting, which are the ways? brows.gif

I have investigate this in few minutes, and it seems resolve by limit the upload bandwidth and put the download bandwitdth full, then just now I just test upload video on YouTube and it seems works,it only can reach 12mbps and the other computer/gadgets can load the website very smooth now.Looks the problem is resolved.

This is the process when I uploading YouTube videos.

bufferbloat speedtest.

This problem is just happen on the other router, the router that provided by TM is no problem at all but it is slow.
Why the problem happens on the other router actually?I just curious about this problem actually.
*
it's all about bufferbloat or the router couldn't cope with many sessions / devices

just try to ping see / do the bufferbloat speed test (for the other router)

As of today, I have now 'officially' join fruitie's "28Mbps Club" Dont know what happen..last week my unifi down for about 30 minutes, then when service is restored My unifi download speed can only max at 28Mb compared to 33-35Mbps previously . Seems that is the norm now  cry.gif

I also noticed, my pc network adapter now also identified as " TMnet (Intel® 82579V Gigabit MY) instead of  "Intel® 82579V Gigabit"

Why suddenly got "TMnet" and "MY" at the end  hmm.gif

hi, this prolly on wrong thread or even section.

but i want to ask, is there a way to check online about our call history list from tm phone line?.

i only get the bill but no phone number history.
*
if you are referring to TM homeline, you need to subscribe for itemized billing, which is RM1/month
anyway, it's a default service...unless u have unsubscribed.

as for unifi phone, it's a default service also, and it's free

the history is in the bill, pls turn over?

The hypptv intermittent lag issue is back to square again..

this time is VOD issue, live stream no problem / very less

It really make me speechless when the special technical team told me not to..

1. use the extension plug

this one, I dunno how to shoot him already.. doh.gif

2. not to download thing while watching HyppTV / use wifi

I thought vlan not same, so both got dedicated bandwidth, thus both of them will not interfere each other? bangwall.gif

HyppTV box uses LAN cable...

and he insist want to come to my home to check... dunno check what, later suddenly charge me RM53 for on site support then how.. shakehead.gif

QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Oct 11 2016, 11:28 PM)
no, they just have the bill that stated the amount i need to pay.
no outgoing call list. i wonder if can check online.
*
then u should check with 100, bill state everything including the calling history, no other place to see except bill.
