You know guys, some of us here is actually owners of N7. And since this whole battery fiasco had exploded, we've kinda been in a grief. Mood is down, moral is shit, confidence is wavered.

Imagine, that we're in a friend or someone else's funeral. What do you do when you go to a funeral? You'd tell the relative to stay strong, be strong, tomorrow WILL be a better day.. etc etc..

But for some reason, this particular funeral(or something like that) seems to be frequently visited by peeps who seems to like to say things like,
"see? I told you liao, no need buy fast car, kancil can liao"
"good liao lo, now tomorrow the deceased kid sure kebuluran liao lo?"
"look, even news say he(deceased) is bad guy loo"

you guys get what i mean? For once got someone can post something positive wan ka? And dont BS with the "just trying to be informative" crap.
Be helpful by being positive.

yes i opt for refund instead of exchange. less hassle

personally i think it's just a matter of time until you hit bootloop.

if you're not afraid, try filling up all 64gb internal storage and use for a while and see if you hit it.

else my theory on note 7 having 'emmc brickbug' similar to the one on note 2 does not hold water.

i can't try cos i already encounter it.

I think this battery drain and cannot be charge issue could be due to software bug causing the CPU to run 100% all the time.
I have similar case happened to me before on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2. For S3, even i plug in charger and cable overnight, the battery never go up more than 10%. (Using original adapter and cable that came in box). Went to SC and they told me that my software bug and advice me to reset my device. After reset, problem solved and never happen again until i switch no Note 2.
For Note 2, suddenly 1 day become very hot even not using it and screen is off. When pick up the phone battery drop to 20% from full charge. And again, took very very long time to recharge it to 100%. (Using ori charger and cable also)
So after recharge i quickly backup everything to PC and did a factory reset (experience before on S3). Problem solved after that.
And also i noticed that with SD card insert in, battery life is much shorter compare to without SD card. Also phone run a lot smoother. Same goes to my Note 7 now. btw im using Samsung EVO plus 128GB sd card that came with S7 edge preorder freebies. Battery life is better without SD card insert in, though did not notice any performance difference.

Not being a fan boy try to defend samsung but just sharing my experience towards this issue. I think people are just too exaggerated over the battery issue.

then got ppl who attend the funeral, then go tell others and say... deceased used to be this bad... and did that bad thing and did this evil thing... and well... for the sake of sharing info.

sharing is one thing la... but dun la go overdo and then also talk about deceased family members also being bad, etc...

but personally, i'm a fan of note series and i've been happy with the note7. i had upgraded from note2. but this whole thing now makes me wonder... did Samsung do a rush job again with the "new battery" thingy? was there enough time to test the "new solution"? what if these new reports are true and it's more a design flaw? if battery design flaw, Samsung can just reduce battery size and allow owners who dun want smaller size to get refund...

but if it's something worse... and it's a phone design issue... means... note7 needs to be totally cancelled. and ppl will say it's "karma" for skipping 6.

still, i hope it's not a major issue (as in everyone just over-reacted) coz the short period of time i got to use the note7... it's an awesome phone.

i wont fill up internal memory for no reason. my minimum free space at least same with RAM capacity.
and i dont know how to fill it up since my 128GB card still got 100+ GB free space left

then why not just copy all the stuff in microSD to a specially created folder in the phone?

after all, this is just to test whether the theory of EMMC bug is the cause or not.

and if after copy one time still 64GB not filled up, make another folder and copy again.

couldn't agree more. even the new iphone 7 had issues, so what's the conclusion? that new technology is no longer sustainable. when note 7 in crisis, everyone is praising iphone 7, so now iphone 7 had issues, where do the swingers go then? i wonder. iphone 6s? or probably s7 edge. karma is real.

dont let ur internal storage on super low space. like PC, disk space is used for temp, paging, etc.

i used to have battery drain problem if sd card is inserted, many years ago.

you can identify it by checking battery usage, it will be under 'mediaserver'. not sure if still applicable in android 6.0 as i haven't been using sd cards due to this issue since many years ago. guess the problem is still here.

especially true if you have a lot of media files that can contain meta tags. such as images and mp3 files, and your sd card is not in perfect condition. with chksum error/bad blocks. this causes mediaserver to keep scanning and waking and scanning the media files.

He/she is simply suggesting you to continue to use note 5(if you have one) if you ever lose faith to note 7.

dem... now i know... can't remember which phone i was using when i used to see this thing. thought it was one of the media players or maybe just an Android behaviour when i watch movie, etc...

FYI my note 7 internal storage usage is less than 3gb not including system files since I've already suspected internal storage causing bootloop before i even started to use my phone.

so you're not exactly safe either.
