Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.
To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have delayed sales of Galaxy Note7 in India.
We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers.

As for 2nd question, if I am the pre-order user, I will choose to refund. Wait for couple of months and see if Samsung does fix everything, and then buy again by the end of year.

then got ppl who attend the funeral, then go tell others and say... deceased used to be this bad... and did that bad thing and did this evil thing... and well... for the sake of sharing info.

sharing is one thing la... but dun la go overdo and then also talk about deceased family members also being bad, etc...

but personally, i'm a fan of note series and i've been happy with the note7. i had upgraded from note2. but this whole thing now makes me wonder... did Samsung do a rush job again with the "new battery" thingy? was there enough time to test the "new solution"? what if these new reports are true and it's more a  design flaw? if battery design flaw, Samsung can just reduce battery size and allow owners who dun want smaller size to get refund...

but if it's something worse... and it's a phone design issue... means... note7 needs to be totally cancelled. and ppl will say it's "karma" for skipping 6.

still, i hope it's not a major issue (as in everyone just over-reacted) coz the short period of time i got to use the note7... it's an awesome phone.

I thought that the instructions given by SME was pretty clear. Return your unit along with the items they have stipulated to the store that you bought it from in exchange for a replacement unit. It only became unclear when people started to want a loaner phone of their choice, compensation of their choice, a document to state that you can keep the accessories, the list goes on. People are trying to arm-wrestle Samsung into providing a document to justify that their actions are correct. You may argue that your time needs compensation and Samsung did just that, its just that they gave you an apple but you wanted the apple and an orange plus the durian that is not even in season yet.

I believe that we are reasonable consumers and we should return something that clearly doesnt belong to us. The speculation on what happens to the returned accessories remains as just speculation but at least our conscience is clear. If someone else does this, we would be all high and mighty in condemning them but when we do it ourselves, we try to justify that our actions are right. Take a step back and ask yourself, do you really need to take that action? Change for a better Malaysia or even the world starts with small actions that you and I take. Yes, big conglomerates like Samsung may "cheat" us (as claimed by some), but did they point a gun to us and force us to buy the phone? We all bought the phone through pre-order as we were very satisfied with our past experiences with the Note series.
