Now, overclocking as per the guide from tomshardware forum.

running at 400FSB, vcore = 1.275, vDimm = 2.0 v

Using KVR PC5333 1gb (can't get the hynix one, its a kingston chip)

Running orthos (CPU stress) for about 30 minutes, still ok. temp @ 65c. It was idling at 55c (after OC). Temp reading by TAT. Temp by speedfan only around 55c (Load)

How long should i leave it running stress it under orthos?

wow u got quite low vcore there!!

i got mine 400x8 at 1.375v.. cant go lower than that (not tweaking the fsb or mch voltage yet lah) temp also almost same like mine. (not air con here )

try to run orthos - blend (stress cpu & ram) for at least 8-12hours to ensure the stability

owwhh. i took the stress CPU test. Oh well, should try the blend now..

was just trying my luck.

when in blend mode ur pc will be very lag.. cannot play game or launch heavy applications. but nvm lah let it run when u sleeping. or u can just try custom..so that the stressing wont eat so much of ur RAM. i am not really know how to configure it. maybe u have to google around. happy o/c

yerp.. kinda noticed that as well.. hopefully orthos is still running when im awake!

Kingston chips are renamed... us should had asked for hynix chip from them... and i suggest u get AS5 thermal compound... i applied them on my CPU, southbridge chip, northbridge chip and GC... now my idle temp is 58 on Coretemp... load temp 63... wif the clock on my sig....

ASus released the new bios which is supposedly to increase overclocking performance, but so far, no diff for me :

Manage to undervolt a bit. Running 400x7 @ 1.25v. The results so so la.

Idle: 56 - 57c (rite now around 11am, didnt on the air cond)
Load: 67 - 68c (same condition as above)

Will probably apply some AS5 later. Mine is like 2 years old. Is it still okay or not?

Just want to ask you guys, what your FSB and MCH voltage? Mine is set 1.4v (FSB) and 1.55 for MCH. Is it too high?

at stock out of the box (f6 bios), didn't touch anything in the bios..

RIght now.. testing vcore @ 1.2175 (not so sure, its one level below 1.25), 400 x 7.. In cpu-z its 1.2v (during orthos)

Idle was around 53c
Load: orthos cpu stress 63c (just started 10 minutes ago)

airconditioned room.

load 63C still good....lucky U in aircon room...or else...70+C for sure...

but if 70C++ at full load by stock hsf, is that normal also?

Try update ur bios n check it again... just now i got my T-Force 965PT, E6600 without oc, under aircon room, i got 38c, using cheap cooler that looking like a zalman fan.

i've updated my bios to f7 already actually before i overclock.. not too gung-ho to get the beta bios yet.

whats the safe range temperature, reading from TAT, for orthos load?

can i join the record too...not my rig but i help to OC it for my fren..here's my screenie
