Just (finally) got my C2D system today. And using stock heatsink, it idles at 52c in an airconditioned room. Put under load (TAT), the temp is 68c! and everything is at stock. Even the bios (F6) 

I've requested from them already, but they say no more hynix chip. depends on supplier etc etc 

Manage to undervolt a bit. Running 400x7 @ 1.25v. The results so so la.

Idle: 56 - 57c (rite now around 11am, didnt on the air cond)
Load: 67 - 68c (same condition as above)

Will probably apply some AS5 later. Mine is like 2 years old. Is it still okay or not?

Just want to ask you guys, what your FSB and MCH voltage? Mine is set 1.4v (FSB) and 1.55 for MCH. Is it too high?

at stock out of the box (f6 bios), didn't touch anything in the bios..

RIght now.. testing vcore @ 1.2175 (not so sure, its one level below 1.25), 400 x 7.. In cpu-z its 1.2v (during orthos)

Idle was around 53c
Load: orthos cpu stress 63c (just started 10 minutes ago)

One question to those running water cooling..

I have not run on water cooling before but now hands very itchy... My E6600 now walls at 3.95Mhz on air... Water cooling can bump this barrier to 4Mhz??

Got my Biostar 965PT today  , used Gigabye b4. Frankly say 965PT looks'inferior' if compare with S3. Everything especially socket, North/south bridge sink and even the cable. All looks cheapo lol.
But this board comes with 2 yrs full warranty and hv good o'c interface 
Will try to o'c it soon. Hope can get good result

My S3 also used DS3 F7 Bios before..  ithink S3 can use the D8 Bios maybe.

I lost track with the post already, anyone using e6600 ES version? what is your core temperature?

i got mine for 2 days....

my core temperature using TAT
IDLE: 68 - 72
Full Load: 80 - 81

but bios CPU temperature shows
IDLE: 26 - 33

which is the real one? if core temp so high, anyway i can lower it down?

wait i got a gd psu n gd cooling baru push kaw kaw...so far running undervolt nia..hehe
tats a high temp..since big typhoon vx is proven to be a good hsf 
i use lousy hyper 48 max load temp oso not more than 73ºc 

bios and TAT are read from different points....
my CPU now 42 but Core is 58/57

wahhh very cool...huhuhu...mine core temp, everest n speedfan show same...but i can't even run TAT...

Im not using AB9. But maybe you can try putting the vcore at 1.35v for starters. Make have disabled EIST, virtualisation technology in the advanced motherboard option (or the comparable in ure bios).

If still cannot boot, i recommend you read the stickies around here. Maybe you need to change either your ram voltage and/or timing.
