s660 aww yeah my fav..... not really jibby punya pasal alone tho.... scalpers making buttloads here
*
My aim :
1. S660 - pray hard someone selling it cos "not enough power" when the time comes
2. GT86 - Most logical
3. MX-5 - old ones
4. S2000
5. MPS - if family too big
6. CR-Z - most affordable

BMW 1 series, Renault Megane, Golf GTI, Ford Focus a bit challenging to maintain, maybe Lotus Elise for non-jap car. This forum quite good in talking about 2nd hand cars, like adopting an old dog that nobody wants.

Write down this list:

Bearings (all)
Absorbers 4pcs
Mountings (all)
Bushings (all)
Lower arm (both sides)
Aircond compressor
Radiator top half

Go to any spare parts shop nearby and ask for a quote.
If it is within your means, then buy.
Cause those are the usual suspects of stuff that needs replacement that might make the original owners sell off their car, and things used cars usually need replacing.

GTI is a good bet.
It wasn't well received in europe so it is kinda cheap everywhere as well especially to clear stock.
Engine is common so not an issue to find parts for it.
Body panels exactly same as the boring version.
Not really, there is a difference but maybe not as vast as say a regular Civic vs Civic TypeR.

My aim :
1. S660 - See in mudah those unregs all auto's, confirm not enough power but you want manual.
2. GT86 - Usually BRZ will be cheaper, it isn't using a crippled version of the FB20 engine like the XV it uses FA20, but I'm biased I'd want a turbo scooby
3. MX-5 - In 5 years time people will think of this to be as old as what we think of AE86 now.
4. S2000 - This is quite a legendary car the price isn't going to go down much, infact lately i've seen it went up.
5. MPS - FF torque steer hell, no fun. Only can lansi at highways.
6. CR-Z - Like the Toyota Sera, it has a sports car body but it isn't a sports car.
7. Copen - Another rare beast and in the same range as the S660, also not going to be cheap to buy and upkeep unless really like it.

BMW 1 series, Renault Megane, Golf GTI, Ford Focus  a bit challenging to maintain, maybe Lotus Elise for non-jap car. This forum quite good in talking about 2nd hand cars, like adopting an old dog that nobody wants.

more like adopting a military dog who's trained and powerful enough to protect me if shit happens than going to the pet store buy a "new" "cute" "puppy" for RM900 which usually means either mix breed or pedigree shih tzu, jack russel terriers and pekineses.....ugly small full of health problems useless small noisy shit

u added 7. Copen cool2.gif

Most likely will stick to GT86 instead of BRZ, not a big fan of tebu, prefer soya car. Nowadays nobody wanna get manual, talk nia a lot. CR-Z really just for daily drive is practical, easy to park etc, like Sera. S2000 near impossible to get in Malaysia, most likely will suffer same fate like NSX kena import out. yeah true about MPS, maybe take out from wishlist. Notice S660 is always "pre-order", so if really want can pre-order a manual version, kinda like kelisa engine with tebu.

GT86 = BRZ.
mana ada tebu.
to me both pandan car.
Subaru derived cars no turbo no AWD reli weird.
Good S2000 and NSX all in collector hands now, can't even see any Supra's for sale anymore.
Few years back can get for 60k, nowadays cannot.
S660 won't be cheap, I wouldn't bother.

Bite owner?

Heck seeing where cvt's are headed... i better start getting used to being the slowest shifting thing on the road. cry.gif

**oh ya GT86, BRZ almost the same thing, wearing dif clothes

sometimes ppl upload em, example, i have the saga flx's part price list somewhere.... other times go sc and mintak or ask... actually not sure if they are allowed to show you, but have asked proton before and they just showed it to me... its a a few sheets of paper with a loooooooooong table on it, thats all....

but one thing you should keep in mind.... sc prices are imo cutthroat prices biggrin.gif ... like zenix suggested you can ask the spare part shops... (though sometimes i have problems with these guys ==" unless im buying they duwan to tell me~~)

Scoobies without AWD + Turbo = cannot accept.
XV already using a crippled WRX engine.
Forester lowspec no AWD.
Haih!

Got people added turbo to BRZ and the handling dynamics all went out the door. bye.gif

You're talking about the new persona or "clear stock old persona"?
Are you already doing GC biz?
My suggestion to lower your commitment, get the old persona which is cheaper to buy and also would have better parts support.

well... its more about how you are about to commit to something you dont truly know that you 100% would want and enjoy doing...

what happens if you buy the car then 6 months down the road cannot tahan doing this job anymore? what happens at that point?? you would have no job (assuming no backup job) and a big fat loan to pay

if its a car you were considering to get in the first place for your own personal use... id say thats fine, go right on ahead.. but specifically for gc? seems like a dangerous game...
