this is a car i considered as well..... also quite a pretty looking car long as its unmodified. There are 2 or 3 around my place, one of the owners say its not ridiculously expensive to maintain, just slightly higher than mercs of the same era. He did mention that, some stuff does cost a bomb to repair, stuff which fail unexpectedly such as the compressor (dont ask how this failed), chairs and some of the electronics (x ingat which one he mentioned).... justs dont expect it to perform like a sports car, this is a cruiser to drive leisurely in drool.gif
*
Yeap, it is a big 2+2 coupe which is a nice highway cruiser and something to show off. It doesn't perform like a sports car but that doesn't mean it is underpowered. It just doesn't like to go on track days but perform decently well on 3 lane highways at top speed or twisty coastal roads, the suspension isn't sports car like heavy/firm it is kind of soft/comfortable yet not spaghetti until handling is thrown out the window like in a Toyota Vios. Yeah, German engineering you get what you pay for brows.gif

I don't like small coupes where there are no rear seats and i'm sitting just in front of the engine laugh.gif

Honda's are pretty reliable and cheap to maintain.
Cheaper would be Toyota's but they don't have a hatchback model being sold in Malaysia so Jazz is a good option.

Maintenance cost if you're talking about new car at authorized service center or 3s would be in the ballpark of rm150-250 but minor service, major service would be anywhere from rm300-800 depending on the parts needed to be replaced. A service interval for most honda's is 5000km's, roughly you'll do 4-6 minor service before a major service.

Two good reasons to consider a Merc:
1. If you're worried about maintenance cost
2. KOMPRESSOR

Unfortunately my connected here is throttled so I'm stuck to certain websites which are "fast", funny enough Lyn & Mudah are decently speedy but the bmw club forum really loads slow can't see the advert. I'm guessing a really nice 2.8cc 7-series brows.gif

Do remember the higher up you go in the tier/segments the spares will get more expensive due to two reasons. Such cars are made with better parts hence the price, secondly such cars are owned by richfags so sellers would wanna earn from you laugh.gif

2008 BMW M3 4.0 V8 - this is real poison devil.gif

The pre-facelifted Nissan Teana and Sylphy's have been notorious for having a temperamental CVT. Apparently, this issue has been resolved in the facelifted models, the Teana that has a rear similar to the picture below. I have been told the current Teana isn't beyond saving, looking at the owners forums a quick fix was adding a gearbox oil cooler. However, personally since it isn't original spec if anything goes wrong (like gearbox totally failed) you can't really sue the manufacturer (even without warranty as long as unmodified you can sue them).

user posted image

I think your heart for Honda's is in the right direction. The Accord 2.0 you're seeking is the one the new Proton Perdana 2.0 is based on, and eventhough it is an older car the spec is much better, one thing for sure the Accord 2.0 has VSA while the Perdana 2.0 doesn't the ESC is only available in the 2.4 model. Whether the Perdana is successful or not the Accord still have a large enough base that maintenance and parts are cheap and abundant. If the Perdana becomes successful and become as common as even the Proton Inspira then more parts are crossover. I think you know Honda's pretty well so I'm not going to explain too much laugh.gif

2004 Honda Euro Accord - this is a poor example, but you can consider or look for the Euro Accord. They come with the K20/K24 engine, very high spec (9 airbags, traction control, etc) and very high build quality (you'd think it was a new car). I just couldn't help showing you this if you're interested but I guess not since you're looking for affordable maintenance.

With your budget 2012 Suzuki Kizashi and 2013 VW Passat are also within your grasp, but both those cars won't be as cheap to maintain as Accord/Camry/Teana.

2010 Toyota Camry 2.0 - although the Camry might be cheaper to upkeep and as just as reliable, it is an uncle favorite so RV is higher so you end up paying for more the same thing from Honda. As you can see for around the same price and spec as an Accord you can only get a Camry which is a year older.

FYI: VSA/ESC are the same thing.

I guess you're hinting at Honda Jazz when you said about folding seats because their Ultraseats are famous for that, but unfortunately with your budget you can only obtain the first generation model which is quite old now so I don't recommend it.

2010 Nissan Latio 1.6 - I think for your needs this would be a good choice, it is a frugal little 1600cc engine (although there are 1800cc variants i think you should consider if you go outstation alot, if city driving mainly then the 1600cc is just fine). Limited folding with the seats but at least they are leather wrapped. You'd be hard pressed to buy a 2010 model C-segment car with your budget unless maybe older technology cars like Nissan Sentra or local makes like Proton Waja/Gen2. Maintenance wise it is pocket friendly like most Japanese cars.

Any recommendation?

1. Brand : Preferably Honda/Toyota/Proton
2. Budget : Undecided..but around 500/month for max 5 years
3. New/Used/Unreg : used
4. Specs : any
5. Transmission : auto
6. NA or FI : NA
7. Type : 5 seaters, sedan, 1.5 or 1.6 l
8. Remarks : actually trying to find ways to reduce monthly commitment. currently paying 1k/month for installment. another 3 years. cars that is not costly to maintain and good availability of spare parts
*
For indicative purposes I always use a loan calculator, if you're worried the calculations not for Malaysia then try the one at oto.my

So here is roughly what we have to work with.

2011 Nissan Latio 1.6 - again the Latio, probably over using this car lately but I guess it is the sign of the times we look for the best value possible and I think this car as a used car is quite value for money. Firstly, it is not too old being a 2011 car, mileage isn't too high (but always people can play with this number so take it with a pinch of salt when they can't produce the owners manual and service records), and lastly Nissan's are pretty darn cheap to upkeep and parts are everywhere. I think if your objective is to lower your commitment while still having a decent aged used car and won't be a money pit this would be one of the options.

QUOTE(lowya @ Jun 28 2016, 02:07 PM)
not looking for sedan, probably van/mpv type would be more suited.
*
2006 Honda Jazz - folding seats but older car, I think Latio still better choice due to it's age.

2002 Nissan Serena - i think they got it wrong as the serena is only a 7 seater (maybe you can squeeze in 8 but there is only seatbelts for 7 people). I think this car fulfills your folding seats requirements but like I said in my earlier post it is going to be old as IMHO there are few truly good cars with foldable chairs that are cheap to maintain, of course Serena and Jazz are two of them. There are others too but the age/maintenance cost/capability will be more terrible than this.

Hi guys,

I am in doubt wheather should go for VW Passat 1.8 tsi dsg between year 2012-2013 or play safe to get a Mazda 6 2.5 year 2010-2011. Seems like VW having lots of negative feedback. However i couldn't really found much info regarding Mazda6.. Anyone can enlighten me? Thx for sharing
*
Mazda6 is pretty solid.
It uses gets drowned by Accord and Camry because although just as reliable the parts availability isn't as good and prices tend to be higher.
VW Passat 2012-2013 are using the 7 speed dry clutch dsg, which is a gamble.....might be good might be crap.

Polo Sedan/Hatch iinm stock clearance price would be around RM50k - RM65K.
Both would have ISOFIX seats.
The hatch doesn't have as big a boot for shouldn't be an issue putting a stroller inside, infact putting stuff like stroller in hatches is easier because of the lower tailgate for sedans you've gotta lift it high then drop it in (kills your back), and unless you've got twins and using a twinstroller the hatch would be spacious enough.
Safety wise it is pretty good with 4 airbags, brake assist, ABS, and stability control.

A. These are just additional fancy stuff. I don't think they are critical so it is up to your taste.
B. For me HID is better and brighter. You wanna go aftermarket route a HID kit can cost anywhere from RM250 to RM800.
C. Not really critical I guess, up to your taste.
D. Not really critical I guess, up to your taste.
E. Just my dua sen, I've installed aftermarket ones before and the price can be very cheap. The rear camera price starts from RM50 onwards and a basic player that can play video/mp3/and use the rear camera starts off at RM300 for china brands. So it isn't really that expensive but the quality and installation isn't as good as OEM. The OEM installed camera you can fully 100% trust the guidelines and alignments, for aftermarket installation I guess 70% for cheapo ones and about 95% for real good ones and installer does a good job.
F. I guess basically the important bits are the HID lights and player, so you can think is it better to pay the extra 20k for everything OEM or you wanna do aftermarket route?
G. Not really, for me I don't find any problems with any color. My usual regiment is bringing it to the RM10 car wash once a week. RM50-80 Wax and polish once in 2-3 months. Never had any paint issues.

1. First of all, is your Seller still owing the bank any money? If so, he needs to do a settlement with the bank first. You probably need to make an agreement with him that you write a cheque and get him to settle the bank loan first. Within a week, the car will be ready for transfer.

2. Seller to proceed to Puspakom to have his car checked. He need to provide you with the B5 (for JPJ transfer). This will cost him RM30. Or he can get a runner to do it, add about RM100 (he will bear it all).

3. You need to purchase the insurance for the car. You can use iMoney to get more information on this and compare before going to the insurance agent/office.

4. Bring your Puspakom documents and Insurance cover note and proceed to JPJ to complete the transfer.
a) Both Seller and Buyer must be present. If not, you need to get a commissioner of oaths to verify the absent parties on a Borang Akuan (JPJ-SAB01 and JPJ-SAB02). Write a simple authorization letter for a representative along with photocopies of his identification card.

b) Fill up Borang TM-1 and two copies of JPJ-K3.

c) Transfer costs is borne by the Buyer (i.e. you) and should cost RM100. If you do not have the time, you can hire a runner to do it (add about RM200).

5. Once done, you pay the Seller the rest of the money owed and Seller will hand over the car and keys to you. This can also happen in step 1, depending on your arrangement with your Seller.

The Polo Sedan (Vento) or Hatch that come with the 1600cc (non-turbo, non-twin charger) engine uses a simple 6AT slushbox gearbox, no fancy DSG. So don't need to worry about it going to hell. Iinm it is made by Aisin, a reputable maker of gearboxes and a similar model has been used in other VW/Skoda/Audi models for sometime without issues.

It isn't very well defined but here is how I classify it in the context for cars available in Malaysia so u get a better idea.

A-segment: Perodua Axia, Mitsubishi Mirage/Attrage
B-segment: Toyota Vios, Honda City, Mazda 2, Perodua Myvi
C-segment: Toyota Altis, Honda Civic, Mazda3, Proton Persona/Preve/Suprima/Inspira/Gen2 (how many models for one segment they need?)
D-segment: Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Merc C-Class,
Compact D-segment: Suzuki Kizashi, BMW 3-series, Honda Euro Accord, Mazda6

Office closing soon so I'll just give you a quick reply now, if u want to know more can explain further.

Lexus IS250 & Toyota Mark X- both use 4GR-FSE engine but the Mark X has a better use with slightly better HP & Torque, nice highway cruiser can go 160kmh at 2500rpm, is quite fuel efficient however maybe gearing on the IS250 felt abit lazy on pickup unless you floor it.
VW MK6 TSI - has TSI engine failure and DSG gearbox failure issues, better skip.
Civic - best overall in terms of performance and maintenance, but if you take the 2006 model it is REALLY old.

There are plenty of older and good conti MPV's however it really depends on your mindset.
Some people don't mind buying conti knowing that it is cheap because RV sucks but the parts are still expensive.
Some people mind because they think doing replacement for parts like bushings and mounting already 1/3 the price paid for the used car.
However, if you find one in good condition and don't mind parts being more expensive than Japanese cars I can show you a few good options.

Okay, looking for a first car I know your mind is going wild trying to get the best deal possible.
Let me share with you something from experience.
Get a new/used car which is popular and cheap to maintain, e.g. Perodua Axia/Myvi (new) or Nissan Latio/X-Gear (used).
This is because it will help ease you unto car ownership.
It is not just about paying to the month that 5/7/9 years loan you took.
There is also schedule maintenance, fuel cost, regular upkeep, consumable parts replacement, roadtax/insurance, etc.
All this will catch you unawares if you stretch yourself too much for the monthly repayment just to get something which you may like.
Try holding out for something you like when you're abit more experience with cars.

Thank you for the recommendation. Seems like Mark X and IS250 are the better fit for me. However for Mark X, i cant seem to find a good price range, those are newer costs more than 120k, and cheaper one are just too old, about 60k. IS250 looks much better (http://www.mudah.my/2010+Lexus+IS+250+2+5+A+IS250+SUNROOF+CBU+HISPEC-46438295.htm). Is there anything particular that I need to take notice on IS250 when testing out the car? And maintenance + reliability are quite ok right?
Thanks for the suggestion I never come across Cl9 and kizashi before, when I look it up in mudah, kizashi looks good, but it seems pretty rare, the parts must be quite expensive i assume? IS250 probably the one that I will go for. Is there anything that I need to take note upon testing out the car?
*
Actually they're pretty similar.

2010 Lexus IS250 @ 78k
2010 Toyota Mark X @ 68k

Infact you can see the MX is cheaper than IS by almost 10k. That 10k is for bragging rights you're driving a Lexus brows.gif
But seriously the IS still looks better than the MX although they're from the same age.
I don't know about you but the latest models from Lexus too "k-ying" the design even the new IS.

2008 Subaru Legacy - if you're going to bother with difficulty in getting parts or expensive parts when considering about the Kizashi why not consider a Legacy? My advise is to not test drive the car unless you're going to buy it because that turbo power is addictive. In terms of maintenance it would be the most expensive to upkeep if you compare against Honda Accord Euro, Suzuki Kizashi, Lexus IS250 and Toyota Mark X, etc. but of course it has that rarity factor and that superb turbo. Usually people that go for this priorities performance and handling above all else.

QUOTE(Drian @ Jun 30 2016, 03:18 AM)
ok thanks but how about suzuki swift? the one with the normal auto gearbox non cvt. Are they worth it?
*
The older Swift before the current model?
That one is a pretty decent car.
They sold quite a number of those cars. Maintenance wise parts are easy to find and pretty cheap.
It isn't the most economical of cars to drive, I felt the gear ratio makes it feel slightly sluggish, thus to move faster u floor it and waste more petrol.

Until now I'm not sure what you really want.

1. Brand : Any
2. Budget : below 20k
3. New/Used/Unreg : used (please specify at what age you will not consider? older than 2000? older than 1990?)
4. Car type: Minivan MPV M-Segment Car
5. Engine: Petrol/Diesel,1400cc to 1700cc (quite rare for MPV's and cargo carriers to have low cc, this might not be realistic)
6. Specs: Seats fold-able and spacious for moving things (for work usage?)
7. Capacity: more than 5 seats (anything with 7 seats will be in the 2000cc category at least)

1998 Toyota Ipsum - also known as Toyota Picnic or Avensis is an MPV which is just slightly smaller than the Estima. At this time in Toyota's history they didn't have the Toyota Wish yet so this model was slotted more or less into this category. Later on in it's life this model split into two personalities the Toyota Caldina and Toyota Avensis both sportswagons. In terms of parts you don't need to worry since it uses the 3S-FE engine which is the same one in the 1987-1992 Toyota Camry, locally stockist still keep parts for this model. The mechanical parts usually can be sourced from other Toyota models due to Toyota always recycling their parts across their models. About the only thing to worry about getting JDM or rare Toyota's in Malaysia is the bodypanels. Although simple things like bumpers might be easy to find if the car gets into an accident and has broken doors and glass that needs to be replaced then it can get expensive as not all stockist/distributors keep stock for such big ticket items but usually in such big accident you'll either use insurance or write-off the car so I don't think it is a big issue.

1996 Nissan AD Resort - if you're looking for something with lower cc yet spacious with cargo capacity then you may consider this model however it will only have seating capacity for 5 people. Eventhough it is old this is the wagon version of the infamous genting taxi and they're still well supported until now so getting parts for it on the cheap and easily isn't an issue.

E. Any player that accepts video input will do.

Cheapo reverse camera, need to adjust the angles manually, over time the thing gets loose and angles all kaput.
Also during installation they gotta drill some holes and sometimes the installation can be poor quality and ugly.

E. Any advise where could I get more reliable reverse camera? Prefer those no need drill one...
I am worry after drill if change next camera will it be a problem.

G. Yes, I found if running on highway frequently, even new car will get lots of stone chip easily...
Thinking how to prevent in this case hmm.gif  hmm.gif
Thanks bro. In this case will prefer factory fitted one... Because previous car is exactly like what you mentioned, after drill the work is not nice and need worry for future camera replacement.
Actually i am thinking to get a reliable camera with guideline, my previous guideline totally doesn't work.
So guideline is actually produce in camera not player, right?

Erm... so your usually repaint every few years? After repaint any impact?

Here are a few options....

License plate reverse camera - they'll still need to drill a small hole to run the wires but it is pretty universal can fit into any car.

replacement number plate illuminator - you'd have to surf around for a specific model for your car model, coz basically it is a replacement for the light that's shining on your number plate, no need to drill the wires run through the lighting casing.

usually no need to repaint, normally stone chips on the front bonnet cover only.
so just get some carbon fibre sticker or car color sticker to cover your car bonnet, or whole car wrap.
same cost as a repaint but u kept your original paint if u wanna sell the car later on brows.gif

First off when we're talking about less headache maintenance and reliability plus decent maintenance cost we can throw out Koreans and Conti's.

2010 Nissan Dualis - usually Nissan X-Trail would be a good choice but let's think outside the box abit, I know it is for old folks but you don't need to get them that boxy old folks looking car, you can opt for its JDM brother the Dualis. It is a JDM model so of course the build quality and materials used are better than the ones in the X-Trail but the best part is under the skin parts like the engine, gearbox, aircon, all wheel drive system, etc. is the same so you don't need to worry about limited parts supply or buying expensive flown in from Japan parts, you can use the locally made parts for the X-trail. Of course they don't look the same so if in the future an accident occurs getting body panel parts might not be as cheap but if an accident usually can claim insurance or 3rd party so I don't think that's a problem as long as your maintenance and upkeep is cheap that matters more.

2009 Toyota Fortuner 2.7 - the only black spot about this car is the engine displace of 2700cc of which the roadtax would cost you RM1,000 per year. Other than that it is a rock solid car like any Toyota. In terms of size it is slightly bigger than the CRV but they're in the same class, I think the old folks would enjoy a bigger and more comfortable ride while they're exploring the country. It is pretty cheap to maintain and parts are cheap as the Fortuner/Hilux/Innova share many common components. The only thing is your'll need to buy extra black oil for the bigger engine.

Since you're a salesman we'll look for cars that are cheap to maintain as well since most salesman would rack up the mileage very quickly.

If you consider the Mazda3 then you may want to consider the Civic. The Civic is about the same price and performance category. But maintenance and upkeep would be lower.

2012 Honda Civic 1.8 - this car is quite understated because I guess after the success of the 8th generation people expect much from the 9th generation were pretty much bummed as the 9th generation basically is like a major facelift of the 8th generation with cost cutting measures. No more K-series engine the 9th generation all only gets the R-series engine. Which isn't too bad as it gives pretty good pickup, top end speed (i've reached over 200 on the 1.8 without noticing that's how smooth & silent it is on the highway), and fantastic fuel economy. But the 140hp and SOHC engine make owners feel they only got 2" despite the benefits. So basically it is an ego issue if you can put that aside this is a good car, reliable, powerful and cheap to maintain. Unless you don't like it and feel like you're missing out coz the superb Civic Turbo is out now just replaced this disaster of a product.

2015 Proton Inspira 2.0 - another car that will be good for your pocket but will bust your ego abit. There won't be any issues for this car to last you 10 years because not only Proton makes parts for it, Mitsubishi and it's OEM partners also make parts for it. Maintenance cost and parts availability isn't an issue. It might not be as frugal to maintain as your Wira but it sure is modern with better safety features and much much better fuel economy. It also looks pretty handsome with that Proton bodykit. One thing I heard from owners is the Lotus handling suspension are more expensive than the Mitsubishi ones, but heck if you're not into it then just replace them with Mitsubishi ones in the future. I think for cheaper, newer, more reliable, good looks, performance and upkeep cost this car has it all.

No doubt Altis would be a good choice for what you've stated, and if you're adamant you want everything and it must be a Japanese brand then Altis is it. But if you want everything but it mustn't need to be a Japanese you can consider the Inspira. Well, by name only it is actually a CKD Lancer laugh.gif

Not a bad choice, there are people making crossover kits and lowering kits for this car.
And the result is fantastic!

have to say... it looks a heck lot better than the x-trail, mechanical parts should be very similar i guess? (at least engine wise definitely the same)... only thing would be the interior trim and the exterior panels/trim, but its not like one needs to replace those often. nod.gif
the current flagship would be the accordana......
dont know how many times i have repeated this.... but i take issue with the fake pipes..... puke.gif Ahbengness x2 for not only one fake pipe but 2 fake pipes~ shakehead.gif
*
Yes, they're like twins.
One pretty another ugly.
But on the inside they're the same.
Usually upkeep is all about maintenance cost and spare parts cost.
So that usually means engine/aircon/gearbox/suspension.
Since these two share the same stuff then it is like Proton Wira using Mitsubishi Lancer parts or vice versa.
I think the door panels are compatible but definitely the front and back are incompatible.
But like I said those only need to be changed if an accident happen if nothing happens you don't need to change.
Usually for accident either own insurance or 3rd party insurance pay so the cost for those things aren't really a factor for me.
Which is why keeping a Galant for me is kinda cheap coz just use Perdana parts laugh.gif

Talking about Perdana here is some info...

Perdana G1 = 1994-1997
Perdana G2 = 1997-2010 (although it was discontinued earlier)
Perdana G3 = 2010-2016 (CKD Accord 8gen rebadged)
Perdana G4 = 2016-now (Accord 8gen reskin/makeover)

The most funny part about the Perdana G4 is not the fake exhaust everyone does it now but the ESC.
Proton shouting everywhere even the smallest of their cars the Iriz has ESC even the base model.
But Perdana G4 2.0 tarak ESC while Accord 8gen all spec got VSA.

VSA = ESC = stability control

i'm tempted to say whichever that kills you faster but i won't.

when all is said and done the choice is yours.

what you really need and can afford. then you look for cars. you don't look at everything under the sun then only think about it.

hmm what's the con bettwen elantra n sonata ?
*
Elantra - C-segment sedan, engine 1600cc-1800cc variants
Sonata - D-segment sedan engine 2000cc-2400cc variants

Let's say you're not comparing with anything else but these two cars, the maintenance of the Elantra would be cheaper by virtue of it having a smaller engine (less engine oil u need to buy) and less complicated. Usually for any manufacturer their D-segment saloon cars is their flagship model thus parts will cost more because they're also engineered better, e.g. bigger brakes (4 pot vs 2 pot), bigger lower arms, complicated suspension (multi-link vs torsion), etc.

I know Hyundai and Kia are having renaissance right now with better design of their cars and also better value for consumers so their sales are going up, in smaller countries like Singapore/Brunei they've overtaken smaller Japanese brands like Daihatsu, Suzuki, etc. in certain segments. However, their engine's aren't still as robust and fuel efficient as Japanese ones.

If you're buying a Korean you're buying it for the design, value (accessories/toys they add in the car) and lower price.

In terms of maintenance cost and parts availability that would be dependent on your area if it has a large following of Hyundai owners or not. E.g. Peugeot was pretty much dying everywhere else in Malaysia except Ipoh, Perak because there is a strong community of owners and new buyers there.

what cars you're looking at? model/price/new/used/mileage/etc

i dunno is it just me or there really was a problem.
when they started making ckd units of the previous generation of swifts i notice many had rear lamp issues.
some become fishtank or either one of the lights were always out.

the best is of course the CBU Japan Suzuki Swift Sport but that's a 1600cc manual performance hatch.
it competes with cars like CRZ and Mini.

regular maintenance isn't an issue and if you're talking about the previous generation there are lots of them on the road thus there is an economics of scale for cheap parts but don't expect as cheap as Toyota/Honda caars.

1993 Proton Wira 1.6XLi - i suppose at such price range and requirements this is probably the best you can get. I'm surprised a 23 year old car is still in such stock condition as the Wira 1.6's were quite sought after as a made for modification as they've got a decent engine and gearbox just some tweaks it can give you can extra 2-5hp. If you're not into modification (which I don't recommend) then the reason why this is better than the Wira 1.5GLi is because of the gearbox. Wira 1.6 has 4 speed autobox, while the Wira 1.5 only has a 3 speed autobox. In terms of reliability both are pretty decent if well taken care of but the 3 speeder from the Wira 1.5 is almost bullet proof but the fuel economy/performance is terrible, so that's why the Wira 1.6 is better it covers everything pretty well with a decent gearbox that is quite reliable, fuel economical (for 90's standards) and 4at performance. Few key things you need to take note when buying something this old and this cheap:

Mountings: if the car shakes/vibrates badly when standstill at traffic light and your gear is in D, that means they're kaput.
Bearings: if there is a droning sound coming from the tires, that means they're kaput.
Cars of this age usually have kaput lower control arms, rack-ends and ball joints.

have u checked out Topmark's showroom in JB?
I know they're more expensive but it is a sub company under UMW toyota.
they promise the used cars they sell are of decent condition and no major accidents.
they also give a limited warranty.
the process is like buying a new car.

car might be cheap but parts are expensive.

changing the bushings itself might cost u 2k or more.

If you're talking about the unregistered/recon units here are a few differentiation factors.

Spec: Just like Vios/Altis/Camry they've got different spec (e.g. G-spec, etc) and limited editions.
Doors: You want all 2 power door and a power boot (they open and close by a push of the button) you gotta pay more.
Special spec: Like their Welcam version for the elderly.
Grade: this is the condition of which it arrives at the showroom.

Now the latest craze is Goo Kantei inspection.

guys,
what do you all think of Honda CRV year 2007-2010 second hand, is it a good car? any common problem?
*
It is a solid car.
Engine and gearbox shared with Stream/Odyssey/Accord/Civic so parts isn't an issue.

FYI there are major model changes for SUV this year.

Mitsubishi just launched their new Outlander.
Mazda will unveil their facelift version of the CX5 which will have the cool interior and Skyactiv engine upgrades from the Mazda6.
Suzuki will launch the all new Vitara soon in Malaysia (it has already been launched in Brunei) it will ape the good looks of the Evoque.

user posted image

Honda is quietly doing a stock clearance of their current CRV while production has been decreased to make way for more Civics in the production line, after the Civic hype expect at the end of the year or early 2017 tehy'll strike with an all new CRV. Look at the spyshot MA took, it looks to be bigger and more muscular looking.
