Why you need to do high speed test? 

Drivetrain assessment can be done from 20-60kmh.
Look out for weird jerks during gear shifts.
Make sure your route has turns, speed bumps, and a long straight.
You can assess the gears going up smoothly, then up down shifts during corners, and quick downshifts when aproaching speed bumps.

I used to own a wira 1.6 manual for 13 years...easily one of my best local car experience, in terms of reliability, suspension, performance and pretty economical at 13km/L

I could easily push it to 200kmh, max was at 220kmh (standard engine, with Porting and polishing)

LOL! yes they down shift on their own.

If the engine bay wasn't cleaned look for signs of oil leaks.
See if the radiator top got any cracks or leaks.
Smoke should be clear, any color white/black would be an issue for exhaust.

Mazda 3 GL Spec 104k after discount

I know it is quite difficult to compare between mini SuV with Sedan.
Currently i am driving Honda City and would like to try an SUV but the quality and interior of Mazda 3 really attracts me.

My current dilemma:

Pro HRV
-Suv
-More Space and bigger
-Honda has more sell value?

Pro Mazda-3
-Excellent interior design and quality
-Sporty look

Hi, i am in the market looking for 2nd hand cars which I narrowed down into these models. It is for my brother.

Budget is 40-50k

1. Mazda 3- (High spec 2.0, MZD engine but worry of spare parts cost and availability?)
2. Honda CRV-(Reliable, Honda, SUV)
3. Kia Forte-(Decent specs even 1.6, Safety, but what about spare parts cost and availability?)
4.New Perodua Bezza Advance (Brand new car)
5.New Persona

Any advice?

-this is a sort of 'new' vios. One would think that the car is not really mature enough to tell if there are any potential issues BUT toyota really looooooves reusing stuff. Its pretty much the same case here.... same old body (proven stuff), same engine used in other cars (avanza/sienta) and what i assume to be a very similar cvt in there as well. heck they even threw in stability control.
-Spare parts im not sure but im guessing it wont be far off the old vios other than when it comes to the cvt. (again just guessing). The vios and city's maintanance costs are not really that far off, the city being alittle more to maintain in general. It was only the city's 1st cvt gearbox which cost a crapton more to replace in event it kaputs

-a very decent town car but a not a great option if you do lots of long distance traveling.
-if driven carefully... the fc for this thing is fantastic

- more expensive (including processing fees and whatever crap they can throw at you)

+ usually cheaper (usually much cheaper)
- you can usually only view one car at one time (unless you go to somehing like the sunday car market in pj, tho should note that nice cheaper cars are very quickly swiped by dealers)
- could be lying but since they dont do this for a living, possibility reduced not negated
- buying process is alittle more complex if done yourself

Edit: also if looking for older car (10years+), what are some great models or are there any that I should stay away from?

- what are the common things to do? go to the autocity and test drive? or drive to mercedes workshop and ask them check?

the current model is W205? - not very sure on merc, just wanna upgrade to a decent car
- many people say, buy 2nd hand merc sure masuk workshop many times (this abit scary)

And what else should I consider before buying a 2nd hand car though? It's my first time and I don't have much knowledge on cars so I don't wanna get conned or anything lel.

Currently driving a 2007 Myvi. Looking forward to upgrading to a car that has some power and handling to cater for some moments of spirited driving and yet able to ferry four adults comfortably. Point to note is that I drive mostly alone but I will still like to be able to fetch my family members around occasionally.

I have recently test driven the new City and new Mazda 2. While I do enjoy the big cabin space and looks of the City, I prefer the interior finishing, power and handling of Mazda 2.

The Mazda 2 is a decent car, but the small legroom space for the rear passenger is really saddening. Besides, I personally feel that the exterior design seems to be more feminine, especially the hatchback version.

I'm looking for suggestions on the options available for my budget that has the performance of the Mazda (or better..!) and yet with decent cabin space to ferry passengers around.

8. Remarks: currently am driving 2nd-hand Persona (8 years old car; 3 years with me now). pretty happy with it overall but just exploring some better ride options with larger space & speed. So far after comparing a few, Mazda 3 2015 Facelift model comes into my mind. Fits my bill and I just loves their exterior look. Only if their interior can be pushed further similar with VW's digital led instruments

As for now I'm not really keen with new cars (due to depreciation paper loss) but feel free to welcome any other models that's not SUV, as long as it's not smaller than Persona both in speed / space / comfort.

330i imho is better.
If you're buying used you may want to consider f10 5-series as well as there are many recons at almost same price as used f30.

Anyway, I've test drive a Mazda 6 and decided on it. It might be lethargic on low speed but quite good on high speed, plus it's comfortable and spacious.
