Don't think so, coverage is still lacking far behind compared to the big three telco.

ts is referring about latest YES's LTE service, not juz YES's Wimax service. huddle xs is only using wimax network.

Anyone have bad experience with YES?
I have closed my account 2 years ago due to the officer offered a package which YES refused to provide after I have signed. They not responsible for the officer mistake and asked me to pay the same price for lower package. End up they let me closed the account.
Upon closed the account, confirmed no more outstanding amount. But 2 years later I have received a letter and being informed I have outstanding amount.
Any helpful opinion to share with me.
Thanks.

Genuinely interested in their service.
Why? Click link below:
http://www.sammobile.com/2016/06/30/samsun...ce-in-malaysia/

Now if not mistaken, this is the LTE-A network we hear about from Korea.
If YES has launched it in Malaysia with at least 90% coverage in Klang Valley, then one would expect pretty good service.

Err.. no?
Just because YES 4G uses Samsung infrastructure, doesn't mean it can only work with Samsung phone.. doh.gif
Check their website.
Their service also supports Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which is a TDD-LTE compatible phone.

good question, last time Yes was purely broadband company, now got LTE data + voice, but no 3g or gsm, don know if mnp technically available

but i think ppl no risk of porting main line to Yes (if available) since it only operates on LTE network, no 3g/2g gsm network to complement...

According to their coverage map they have 4G at my housing area, which is rare considering all DiGi, maxis, and Celcom doesn't have 4G... (Well, I can get maxis 4G upstairs though)...

If I can subscribe to the 48 plan without a contract I'll be willing to try

Phone not listed are not guaranteed to work, you may try though. iPhone is not included due Yes not yet sort out agreement with Apple so it will not work on iPhone temporarily.

Been using yes zoom for almost 2 years d (of course due to contract 2 years) i am very satisfied and personally i feel that coverage is better than celcom.

This is becus when i go to genting, my celcom mobile cant suft net at all, no coverage. But yes zoom surprisingly got signal and pretty fast.

I am sure the LTE voice should be better than wimax signal.

Got it in KLSentral
funny part the story goes like this

I was asking a guy at counter n he said no prepaid sim since only have postpaid with phone, so i asked need to wait for how long to get it? he said not sure
suddenly a guy came from a small room from the side ask me what phone am i using, i replied Mate 8. He told me maybe cant use I said can one since it is all band phone. He than asked me bring the phone or not? i said got ... he than say lets try first so he pulled out a sim ... i said nano sim to him.

Put inside my phone, he asked me to make the yes sim 4g .. so after a few sec registered to YES 4G ... rejoice ... rclxm9.gif

then the guy asked me want to buy sim? i said if prepaid yes lah ... so he went back to the side room and pull out 2 stack of sim card packs. All start with 018 688 xxxx. I chose one and paid RM10. Asked him where to topup he said at portal.

so than i happily using it lah ... data wise maybe still best effort ... call i tried but failed maybe because i am in my office building

so i think they will pull face since according to the guy a lot of ppl asked buy most of time phone not supported

Hi all,
Just want to ask, YES4G postpaid plan. I saw from YES website write that choose a plan and will free the devices. http://www.yes.my/4g-lte-postpaid
However, when I reached their outlet, the customer services say that for Huddle XS minimum need to subscribe for postpaid 98. But I only want to subscribe postpaid 48. The website didn't mention this at all mad.gif Whether is the website wrong or the customer services? Thanks.

The sales people attitude is very poor, don't bother, and not interested in doing business. That shows why company not earning.

Oh well I went to Yes Kiosk Main Place USJ to buy the prepaid SIM to test, picked a number (018-688 xxxx), waited for 15 minutes for the guy to call his supervisor to guide him on prepaid SIM registration, at the end he told me "Sorry system not ready yet".

I guess they need to introduce a basic prepaid SIM card registration training to all their employees, it is too unprofessional, either they rushed for the launch or they didn't have time to pass the info to all the kiosk/dealer to assist potential customers.

Don't sign up for anything with them.

2 years ago, I signed up for their wireless internet to use at USJ10, Subang Jaya. To my disappointment, I cannot get any coverage. It is very difficult to contact them and they don't care about your problem. When I complained, they insisted that they have coverage although their device clearly showed no coverage. They refused to listen or verify my claim. They even suggested that if I cannot use it at my intended location, I should use it somewhere else. There is no way to exit even though they are at fault.

Now, 2 years later, they are suing me for not paying for the service that they cannot provide. This is blackmail and the worst experience that I had as a consumer.

You'll regret it, like me!

you should quickly raise the no coverage issue to CFM and request them to assist you. I not sure whether now is too late or not, but you still can try to seek help from CFM. You better have sufficient proof that you place had no coverage else your chances of winning would be low. Give it a try anyway.

to use VoLTE, your phone manufacturer requires enabling something in their phone to work
data no issue as long as your phone support band 38 and 40

Want to ask something,

May I know what does it mean by 4G LTE + 4G Broadband mean in their website
<http://yes.my/4g-lte-postpaid>

For example if I want to take the RM48 plan, it is stated 6GB LTE + 4GB Broadband

So does it mean I need to sign up for 2 sim card and 2 different service ?

their LTE is tdd-lte, use your compatible tdd-lte phone to get connected.

for wimax, still apply same Yes zoom/huddle/dongle modem.

probably juz getting 1 simcard for LTE + 1 log in ID for wimax. yes, u r going to get 2 network service, one is tdd-LTE, 2nd is wimax.

thus it is big question how many ppl dare put their main line on it.

it is no easy to get good indoor 2300mhz+2600mhz signal compared to lower frequency band like 3g 2100mhz.

unless willing setting up a 2600mhz repeater package as play safe measure.

So far Cheras ok. Tropicana also quite stable, publika indoor certain places no line, my digi was working fine there.. i would say so far so good..still cant login the app though.. probably good for ppl who wants a 2nd data only line.. with a cheap 2g only line as backup? Since nowadays a lot of phones come with dual sim.

Most phones with dual Sim Card slot.

The one common problem is that if the phone does not support 4G, the mobile Internet cannot reach high speed.

It had been a week since I tried out Yes LTE prepaid service and here's my finding.
In all area I've tested Yes constantly perform better than U Mobile in all area except Bandar Sungai Long and Mahkota Cheras.
Below are the area I've tested
Kuala Lumpur(Jalan Kuching, Jalan Loke Yew and Bukit Bintang)
PJ(Section 14 & Section 16)
Kepong
Kuala Kubu Bharu
Rawang
Bukit Beruntung
Kajang (City Center)
Sunway Pyramid
I wouldn't continue with Yes service since most of my time I spend in Bandar Sungai Long.

I just had a conversation with Yes technical team and they confirmed that devices with VoLTE support for Yes network must enable VoLTE in order to get connected to the network. In other words, Dual SIM setup for Redmi Note 3 will not work since Redmi Note 3 must have VoLTE disabled for dual sim to work.

after launching YTL 4g service it seems no intensive promotion follow on, unlike last time with their yes wimax service.

maybe due to YTL boss now keen and focused on buying UK property/biz which should make his fortune up in multiply formula in future, so no bother much of the ytl lte small money biggrin.gif

This i totally disagree. I currently fully dependent on my YES 4G with wifi while using maxis. From my personal experience and not guessing most places i go yes 4G have line.

I travel to Karak from KL nearly everyday and honestly compare to maxis, YES 4G have better coverage comparing to maxis even at my farm got line.

I only have 100mb on my maxis while i have 16GB on my YES 4G.

After getting poor service around a month ago, I just decided to put my Yes sim card somewhere else and today when I plugged it into my phone, their service had significantly improved. Speed from 7-10Mbps a month ago to 40-50Mbps rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Yes is using VolLTE calling services... Currently the phones supported is quite less that's why you cant make calls using your phone which is not in the phone compatibility list.

Since I'm a UTAR student I always get 59+ Mbps average speed. It's awesome to have 4G LTE connection everywhere rather than slow sloppy 3G speed.

I have checked the coverage on their website, it's no coverage in my company.

1) no coverage mean totally no line? or still can run on 3G speed?

2) if my house got coverage and my device not support 4G, then It will automatically run at 3G speed?

thanks

Dunno why YES never think that it is very important to enlarge their coverage to those who work at factory?
All people working there are potential customers cause we spend almost half of time on everyday in working area.

You must enable VoLTE. Devices with VoLTE support must enable it or else would be denied access from Yes network.

I've experienced exact same issue here over at Kajang. I was getting pretty poor speed like around 15Mbps for a while and then suddenly one day, no data connection even though it's connected to their network. After two week of having this issues, it somehow works and I'm getting constad 60Mbps above speed and improved service quality. It seems like they are doing some network upgrade aroubd that area.

I'm a bit confused right now. Looking for it specs, it does not stated tdscdma or tdd-lte... but can be used on yes sim? so, it is possible for a modem with 2600MHz band to use yes sim... or you have a special edition zte mf90?

I wouldn't go for yes no matter how good is the plan, they have bad customer service. I got wrongly billed extra (small amount but i can't let them get away) last month and I called for reversal of charges. The conversation is something like this

Me: Can you reverse the charges?
Yes CS: Sorry we cannot reverse charges like that.
Me: Then can you escalate me to your accounting department?
Yes CS: we won't escalate every case
Me: But you don't understand my problem, I need escalation
Yes CS: Sir I think you're the one who don't understand me.
Me: !!!!

Yes is fast and their data prices are quite competitive, I've never experienced anytime where speed is less than 10Mbps while signal strength is excellent. Not really surprising to hear that webe is slow since they only had 5MHz on Band 5.

If you had enabled VoLTE and yet it's unusable, you will have to wait until Yes officially support this device in order to use that.

That's not true and I hope you won't be spreading this around with the "no antennae therefore weak reception" talk.

I have 3 units of different model MiFi from TP-Link, and most of the time their reception is stronger than my iPhone 6.

So let's go back to my question, will this work for Yes LTE?

ok, confirmed mine is V2 (don't know how to upload photo here).

Went to Yes outlet and ask for an LTE SIM to try, it doesn't connect. Maybe need to set APN?

And I am now confused with statements saying VoLTE is a must for data...

VoLTE = Voice over LTE

About the data, I can't confirm this. On the website also don't have the APN

Update:

Gone to another stall. Repeated the same process.

I asked for a SIM card to test using my M7300. They gave me one but ask me to get out of the mall as there is no signal in the mall.. (huh)..

So I got out and immediately the M7300 connected to the network.

The SIM was voice only and no data.

So I signed up for RM10 Prepaid LTE. Took it home. It works at home too.

Only thing you have to know is to manually set your APN name to yesnet. Otherwise it doesn't work.

Hit a snag with my M7300 going cuckoo for a while... restoring it to factory setting and set it up again seems to have solve the problem.

Other than that, been surfing a while on it. Seems OK. No funnies.

Can be slower on some website compared by Celcom 4G at my area but generally it's faster.

The M7300 cost I think around RM380, can't remember the exact amount I paid.

I bought it to replace my old 3G TP-Link MiFi. Just noticed it has TDD / FDD LTE support.

P9 only support data. Call or SMS not working.

Some phone even have TD-LTE B40 like LG G4 dual, can register to YES 4G but cannot work with YES at all.

*UPDATE* manage a breakthrough. after some tweaking with my LG G4 dual, I am able to use the YES 4G for data only. Call and SMS still not working. Better than nothing. rclxms.gif

so any handphone not listed on YES website is try at your own risk.

For phone that supports Band 38 and 40 TD LTE, if you have problem connecting to data, manually set the APN will do.

APN Name: yesnet
APN: yesnet

Save and reboot your phone.

Question:
If your prepaid plan lapsed but SIM card still active, you can receive call and sms but not make calls.

Let's say you let it lapsed for 6 days, you top up RM10 today... will you have another 10 days of active line (RM1 per day) or 4 days?

Top up will not extend validity. Only purchasing data add on does. Purchase 7 days data extend by a week 30 days data plan extends validity by 30 days.

Ok.

So if it lapsed on 1-Nov, and you purchase 7 days data today which is 7-Nov...

Do you get 7 days data or you get nothing (because it calculate from the date it lapsed)?

Not just VoLTE enabled phone. You have to use phone listed as VoLTE supported device with original ROM. Custom ROM doesn't work. I just tinkered around with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro and I could never get VoLTE work when I'm on custom ROM even when the ROM natively support it.

Frankly speaking, even if my phone support the YES VOLTE, I won't use it as my main call line.
As I check my YES connection at the places I going these past few days, the line only able to connect like 40% of the time.
If YES don't come out with piggyback on any telco soon, it just heading towards the death valley.

VoLTE doesn't consume data but charged at 9cent/min to other networks and free unlimited on same network.

Comment from public don't count ? you can selectively agree with what you like.
The point is not about which device but what contract/service has been provided.

Yes 1mbps is running on wimax network. And it availability depend on your registered location.
Last week my friend want to apply it but been told that his location is fully occupied.
From other source mentioned that Yes dealer stop assigning Yes 1mbps from YTL.

Above true or not, you may need to visit your nearest YES dealer to confirm it. Be aware that it come with contract if you applied it.

About the connection quality, you may need to try it because your location distance to network tower make the different. To save your pocket from the contract penalty. Do ask Yes Dealer nearby your area to do network test at your home or borrow yes device from your friend to do test.

I just upgraded from yes 88 (16gb broadband + 8gb lte) to 30gb broadband 78

Sharing my experience the yes lte sux so bad that most of the time either it loses connection and reconnect or doesn't load due to coverage issue it will stay only on 4G network and indoor its even worse

For broadband while umobile lagging the yes 4g broadband its so smooth even at peak hours. For the price its rm2.60 per gb its freaking cheap come with 30gb.

Beside that once awhile keep trying reconnect during raining season the connect is awesome limited to speed up to 5mbps.

720p YouTube no buffering.

The best thing about the Yes 4G LTE network is the utilization is low since not much phone support this network type hence the speed is rclxm9.gif . They even had buy 1 free 1 reload promo so basically you get RM60 for just topping up RM30 and I could buy 6GB data per month for RM48 and still left RM12 for calls and sms rclxms.gif

Want to ask about Yes prepaid.
If I top up RM30 and I get RM60 credit to my account.
The credit validation period enough for me buy two month plan over 60 days? Example buy two RM30 plan for two months.

Your validity will still be a month. The extra credit doesn't extend the validity. If you are not in active status, you can't surf Internet even with data plan purchased.

Hi there, I'm using proton yes huddle.
My place has a good yes connection but my credit run out so fast.

Rm10 @ 1gb ran out within 30minutes.

That is ridiculous.

I'm planning to upgrade to their rm78 @ 40gb, but Im afraid it gonna ran out within one day.

Do anybody here share the same experience, how long can 40gb last for you? Do you watch YouTube videos? Netflix?

Playing around with YES LTE, found that they have Band 41 active.

For band 38, I can see they are using multiple 10MHz.

Pretty neat, and good for the speed too.

You damn sure about band 41? Or are you talking about band 40? For band 38, so far they are using 20MHz and 10 for band 40.

I had very bad experienced with YES , I terminated my account 6 days before contract ended on February 2017, they drag until July 2017 only paid back the additional charged money. When I asked why the payment not tally as they mention, the customer service replied because I terminate 6 days before the contract , so that's a charged. That's funny how if customer that need to work on the actual date or travel ? Means need to cancel the trip or apply the leave to go terminate the account. Coverage are not stable, no line percentage higher than can used. Please think wisely when you want to use YES. Ps: I did walk in to kiosk and KL sentral asked when can I terminate the contract, they mention one week before , but now the story are different. Cause they
will change the terms and condition by YES own rules.

for bad coverage, can be escalated to MCMC to terminate the contract without penalty fees.

That's because the first reload is not 1-1.

After 1st reload, just reload RM30, and you get Rm30. (30 days validity)
Buy the promo 10GB RM30 plan twice by just topping up RM30.

Yes. This is true for certain firmwares.

We have to use SIM1 to get connected to Band 38 or 40. That's why YES has the list of supported "dual-SIM" phones.

Hence, my LeMoto P2 can only connect to YES when use SIM 1 but not in SIM 2...but P2 is officially not in YES supported phones...but still can get connected in SIM1 only...

user posted image

So, my hypothesis is that your R4P only supports YES Band 38 / 40 in SIM 1 only because R4P is not "officially" under YES supported device...

So, my hypothesis is that your R4P only supports YES Band 38 / 40 in SIM 1 only because R4P is not "officially" under YES supported device...

my ZTE Axon 7 support the band 38 & 40 but when I put the prepaid sim card on the phone got no signal at all.

How is this happening? does yes 4g block certain phone from using the service?

If any mobile phone connect to Yes without turning on VoLTE, you will be booted out from the network. This is what the network engineer in Yes told me.

Just need VoLTE to be on. Don't need it to work.
My oneplus 3 a3000 don't support YES VoLTE, but it is working with VoLTE force on.

As long as it comes with band 38/40 support and also VoLTE, it's fine.

I must say that Volte on Yes is awesome! And connection is so far so good now. Even I can say it is way better than Celcom and umobile that I had before. The signal that's available for YES is only LTE, no 3G whatsoever so minimum speed I'm getting is 10mbps at least. So far I'm satisfied.

Tried it on MRT too. Most of the time got reception underground. But one of flaws for yes is indoor coverage, sometimes it drops to 1 bar but still usable with 5mbps speed.

Volte is also awesome. Calls connected much faster and clearer. Yes reception always full bar LTE outdoor. Very good for now.

My experience with yes lte was bad. The coverage very unstable many places I been no line. Underground mostly no line and this is when I have previously use maxis.

Now yes lte I use as a back up SIM. Main totally unreliable and yes only work on 4g. No 4g no line
*
Which underground you are referring to? I just tested Yes on MRT SBK line yesterday, the underground antenna was up and I get excellent signal reception underground.

Agree that YES LTE is not useful as your only data plan. Need dual sim phone with backup data to cover for times when you are out of coverage.

Using YES since it has tons of data, and supplement with XOX. 500MB permonth for RM2.50, which is cheap AF, and 28 months validity biggrin.gif. Pretty good to be used as backup. Kinda troublesome to make the switch no doubt, but RM30 for 20GB is a very good deal.

There are some people sells yes id. Pay one time and auto renew monthly.
The downside is the id are not from yes officially. So, there is no guarantee it can be use for how long. Yes will block the id when they found out someone misuse it.
For me it's worth it.

hi guys, I activated my free 10GB yes4G that comes with samsung phone. activated it, and it works on samsung phone. when I try it on sony phone, it doesn't want to connect the Yes4G network. Is the sim card tied to certain IMEI only ? I've set to LTE only, and LTE(preferred), also same problem. in the APN section, it does list down yesnet

Okay that's wierd. Yes uses 4G TDD-LTE band 38(2600MHz) and your phone does support the band. Try contacting their support regarding this

Wait a minute. Your phone has 2 different region model. Maybe you're using E6633 instead of E6683. E6683 does support band 38, but E6633 doesn't support any TDD-LTE bands

Make a manual search for the Yes network. If it isn't there, that means your phone doesn't comes with TDD-LTE support.

I had talked to the network engineer of Yes in the past and they claim that Yes will disconnect any smartphone without VoLTE capability to disconnect from their network since it's a pure 4G network. So far, only mifi will not get disconnected from their network even though they don't have VoLTE capability.

Good for you. Actually Yes is good so far I've been using it for few months. If your phone supports Volte then your connection would not be a problem. I travelled on Public transport a lot only few time I have no connection, that was in KTM and I don't know where, anywhere else it was good. In MRT underground there's good connection as well so far that I have experience with. 😊

make sure the sim is registered using Malaysian IC. otherwise you won't get that 20GB if ur existing credit balance is less than rm2.

Nope. There's only one add on available which cost RM28 and add on 6GB of LTE and 2 GB of Broadband data to the existing 2+2GB data.

So since you already had bad experience, just ignore it. Yes are using higher frequency bands which translates into poorer indoor coverage.

new to YES 4G. decided to give it a try with their YES 4G LTE Prepaid.

on my OnePlus 5 I managed to get speed about 32Mbps at InterContinental Hotel Jalan Ampang.

back home I use with a Huawei E3276s-920 USB modem placed near to my Selayang condo window, using on a TP-Link MR3420 router with custom firmware. Getting speed of about 10Mbps.

I'm generally satisfied with it so far.

Since quite a numbers of phone doesn't support Yes frequency band, the congestion wouldn't build up quickly. The only trouble I'm having with Yes is trouble receiving TAC from Maybank. Surprisingly I don't have trouble for Public Bank and other banks. The other thing complain is poor indoor coverage. Most shopping malls are not fitted with indoor signal booster so don't expect internet to work on most shopping malls.

If you're referring to their older technology network which is Wimax, I'm not surprised at all. If it's LTE, unless your signal strength is weak, I don't see any reason why it's slow as congestion is almost non-existence.

At kl i easily get 89mbps

Outskirt 15 to 25mbps

While yes 4g 30gb seems finish very fast within 2 weeks

When raining no line and speed i get 1mbps to max 5mbps
