Anyone tried YES LTE with this MiFi modem?

http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details...4692_M7300.html

This MiFi is supposed to support Band 38/40.

what i know is tp-link modem have weak signal receptions. this mifi dont have external antenna support. ur place 1km from tower should be no problem.

That's not true and I hope you won't be spreading this around with the "no antennae therefore weak reception" talk.

I have 3 units of different model MiFi from TP-Link, and most of the time their reception is stronger than my iPhone 6.

So let's go back to my question, will this work for Yes LTE?

Buy the v2 one. That one supports Yes LTE network, but not all other major telco

TP Link M7300 don't have V2... you referring to the same?

They have two versions. One with FDD-LTE, and one with TDD-LTE. Yes is TDD-LTE, so choose the v2
*
ok, confirmed mine is V2 (don't know how to upload photo here).

Went to Yes outlet and ask for an LTE SIM to try, it doesn't connect. Maybe need to set APN?

And I am now confused with statements saying VoLTE is a must for data...

Have you activated the sim card?

It's a working SIM from the salesgirl's phone.

Update:

Gone to another stall. Repeated the same process.

I asked for a SIM card to test using my M7300. They gave me one but ask me to get out of the mall as there is no signal in the mall.. (huh)..

So I got out and immediately the M7300 connected to the network.

The SIM was voice only and no data.

So I signed up for RM10 Prepaid LTE. Took it home. It works at home too.

Only thing you have to know is to manually set your APN name to yesnet. Otherwise it doesn't work.

how is it so far? stable?
*
Hit a snag with my M7300 going cuckoo for a while... restoring it to factory setting and set it up again seems to have solve the problem.

Other than that, been surfing a while on it. Seems OK. No funnies.

Can be slower on some website compared by Celcom 4G at my area but generally it's faster.

How much is it.

The M7300 cost I think around RM380, can't remember the exact amount I paid.

I bought it to replace my old 3G TP-Link MiFi. Just noticed it has TDD / FDD LTE support.

For phone that supports Band 38 and 40 TD LTE, if you have problem connecting to data, manually set the APN will do.

APN Name: yesnet
APN: yesnet

Save and reboot your phone.

Question:
If your prepaid plan lapsed but SIM card still active, you can receive call and sms but not make calls.

Let's say you let it lapsed for 6 days, you top up RM10 today... will you have another 10 days of active line (RM1 per day) or 4 days?

Top up will not extend validity. Only purchasing data add on does. Purchase 7 days data extend by a week 30 days data plan extends validity by 30 days.
*
Ok.

So if it lapsed on 1-Nov, and you purchase 7 days data today which is 7-Nov...

Do you get 7 days data or you get nothing (because it calculate from the date it lapsed)?

It is calculated based on 7 days starting from the day you purchase it.

Ok that make sense unlike some telco...

Thanks

I am just subscribing to "normal" 4G LTE pre-paid, everytime buying 10GB for RM30, and get extra 10GB for free. So it's RM30 for 20GB.

Since early this year, speed been dismal at night, and sometimes morning.

This is around Genting Klang area.

Anyone experience this?
