tower rental too low. minister want each tower RM1.2k/month, ytl paid RM1.2k/year.  it depend how ytl deal with new boss

LTE has a higher spectral efficiency than Wimax. By shutting down Wimax, they can re-purpose those spectrum on LTE.

In other words, by moving all those users to LTE with the condition that there's no increase in user on LTE network except those who switched from Wimax to LTE, the overall network quality will improve.

My 4th day of yes 4g experience:

Outdoor

Overall i am impressed with the coverage and speed. I can play a YouTube while driving with no stop playback at high setting such as 720p or 1080p. Same thing i did using my Celcom postpaid will experience a halt on the playback during certain part of my driving to home and it always happen during the particular part of the road always. Obviously, Celcom is having blind spots on the road.

Speed wise I can get 4Mbps as promised as per the plan I am using (rm30 unlimited).

I must say the surfing experience and video streaming experience is even better than traditional telcos such as Celcom etc. The loading of web pages is lightening fast. YouTube streaming is super fast also. The loading of the video list is incredible. Something that I have not experienced on Celcom ever. Even comparing to Maxis that I had used previously, I dun get similar fast speed also.

I believe that yes 4G has very low latency even it may not have the fastest 4G speed as compared to other telcos even the traditional one thus I can have the above said experiments.

Indoor

At popular places such as shopping Malls etc., the coverage is decent. Speed wise can hit the promised speed for download. Upload is slower though. Probably some blind spots within the mall will have poorer or no coverage. Places such as shop houses etc. If go inside will have no coverage sometimes. Coverage within my house is about 1 to 2 bars but still able to surf the web or video streaming.

Conclusion

The rm30 unlimited plan for prepaid is really good to supplement the normal mobile line that one may have that is used to receive OTP etc.

However, I won’t use it to MNP my main line as OTP is crucial to me since I tie all my banking services to the number.

In addition, I am Apple iPhone user so totally impossible to use it as main line also due to the compatibility issues.

But overall I am happy with it as second line for data usage. I will proceed to terminate my Celcom legacy plan line soon.

Where you get that info? Info that Yes 4G now supports VoLTE for iPhone.

Only if Apple certified the telcos. Yes 4G is not certified by Apple this VoLTE is not supported. There is no such option in iOS for yes SIM card.

Have been using yes konfem 4G for a month now.

My user experience is 80/100.

It has decent coverage which I have connection more than 95% time. Only certain shops inside shopping malls may not have connection.

Speed is excellent, as long as within coverage, no need to worry about it. It can get consistently at 4Mbps or close to all the time. With this, streaming 720p is totally no issue.

Given its price, it is the best unlimited prepaid plan one can get.

Going to try u mobile GX30 after today, will see if it is even comparable to yes konfem 4G. It is only my data plan so can switch anytime.
