Hi All,

I have a question
what is the best way transfer money from Malaysia to Singapore
I recently sell my Malaysia house and have cash around RM100k

I wish to transfer the money to Singapore to paid off my CC oustand bill and loans

Please advise

i know that DBS bank transfer from SG to MY is no charge but i google around did not found any best way transfer from my to sg

You could opt for telegraphic transfer (subject to limits) from Malaysia bank to Singapore bank.
Think your best bet is from MBB to Maybank Singapore. Dont think there's any free transfer.

Cheapest way is to bring cash over in person, but not recommended.
Or exchange the MYR with your Singapore colleagues/friends/family.

Momijigari is right, Foreign Telegraphic Transfer is the safest and easiest, can be done online.
I just transferred mine yday. Max rm30k per day. Charge rm10 + any charge by beneficiary bank.

Make sure you change your limits on your maybank online transfer limit. By default telegraphic transfer is limited at rm0. You can put it at any figure between rm0 - rm30k.

Now for my question, I need to budget my entire living expense to be below 1200sgd. I haven't been to sg yet so im not sure how much I need for daily expenses. Anyone can advice whats the max room rental I can pay to live within 1.2k a month?

What is the best bank to put savings into? I intend to find one where i just keep it without withdrawing and have the highest interest rate possible. Is CIMB a safe choice? Very small presence in S'pore but their starsavers account seems quite high interest rate though...

What is your definition of "best" way? If you don't mind to transfer in multiple tranches (daily cap limit applies), you can use CIMB Clicks to transfer from MY to SG. It's FOC and almost instant transfer. See rates here.

A lot of it dependent on how the other items are allocated / other factors.
Accommodation can reach as low as S$400 if you're willing and someone is available
to share a room with you. Like travel expenses can be reduced if you rent near to workplace
and walk directly to work.

So, maybe:-
Food:- S$450
Travel:- S$100
Mobile:- S$50
Then
Accommodation:-
S$500-600 (private room, there are locations which this price is rare)

You don't have much to save that's for sure with S$1.2k
1.2k have deducted savings I assume?

Yes 1.2k is after deducting my target savings.

I'll be working at midview city so I need a room at bishan or amk then I can take bus also no problem.
My only issue is with room, I cant share because I sometimes sleep very late and have difficulty sleeping even with slightest noise or light.
Im wondering if its possible to get a non share common room for 500 ard that area.

I think that's possible. A search at Propertyguru - Propertyguru shows quite a number of places less than S$500 for a single room.

Nah it's not illegal. You can key in using the MOM tool to identify which pass fits your criteria.

Even if you key in below 3.3k (previous min salary for EP), it will show that you qualify for EP.

Malaysian always so special in SG biggrin.gif

Mine was 2 years. Not sure how long my HR going to renew mine though. Longer one maybe harder to apply? No?

I'm intending to apply PR now cos initially wasn't sure if I wanted to stay / retire here. But ah, think later apply first. Haha, anyone hv any idea how long will have to wait before knowing whether PR status is approved after submission of documents?

My case, start work in SG on  April 2014, ROM in SG on NOV 2015, submit PR application (Spouse under my application, so two ppl applying) on NOV 2015, June 2016 approve.

I'm 26 YO and my wife 25 YO.

Rumors said, below factor will increase your chance:

1) Age: the younger the easier you get PR, singapore is facing ageing population issue cuz low birth rate... so they love young talent who can work long time to contribute SG economy and of course CPF rclxms.gif

2) Married and spouse working in SG: The chance of you will build family in SG is very high, for your next generation future, and yes, singapore love baby, this will lead to first factor.

3) Qualification, salary, job industry, company: With good education(Degree), decent salary (able to feed family in SG), great job with good prospect (IT, engineer, development, research, medical and etc), good company (company with bad financial condition will affect because you are highly kena lay off or company shut down you will lose job, gov don't want to feed you)

4) Nationality, Race: people who are easier to adapt to SG culture will get PR easier. Malaysian (Chinese), Bruneian (Malay, Chinese), Indonesian (Chinese) are easier to get PR than Indian, Pinoy, Burmese, Vietnam, PRC and other third world country...
*
Congratulations. The rumors do make sense. So, it took half a year before it was approved. hmm.gif Seems like the whole process from booking an appointment to getting it approved takes a year.

If you're volunteering, there wouldn't be any pay at all.
Does it consider as a job without any pay?
I would suggest not to exploit any loopholes, might be
deported or fined with little to no warning.
*
Definitely not a job. Just thinking of way to better spend my weekend and since I have been volunteering all the while when I was in uni might just consider to continue with it there.

Bishan is supposed to be a bit more expensive than AMK

AMK $500 can get you a room but without AC
Also make sure the room prices you see includes utilities and internet
There are many postings for rooms cheap, but after you add on those 2 it goes back up
