Anyway guys. Need your opinion.
I tested the 30mbps using WiFi with my desktop (wireless card) and my laptop. Test was done in my room (2 walls between my devices and router). Surprisingly my laptop getting full speed even at my room. But my desktop only 23mbps max. I moved my desktop to beside router and only it gets full speed. I just checked, my lappy supports AC while my desktop only N and G. Does that means anything? Should I change my wireless card or? |

Need your opinion. your dekstop doesn't support 5GHz band and force to use 2.4GHz band. 2.4GHz band are more prone to inteference and therefore the poor network speed.I tested the 30mbps using WiFi with my desktop (wireless card) and my laptop. QUOTE(raynman @ Jul 4 2016, 10:51 PM) That is correct. thanks for the clarification bro, i am start getting clear pictures from you guys.Unifi uses different VLAN tags to isolate the bandwidth dedicated to IPTV and the bandwidth dedicated to the Internet. They don't share bandwidth as what GHOSTVIC has misunderstood. |

QUOTE(soonwai @ Jun 22 2016, 12:53 AM) TM seem to be giving out either RGX4400 and DIR-850L at random. I'm currently using RG4332 which had slow transfer rate (8~9 MB/s) between NAS and PC.Unifibiz 20 to 100mb upgrade last month got DIR-850L. New local coffee shop here opened last month Unifibiz 100 received the RGX4400. Yesterday uncle's new Adv30 got the RGX4400. I've been using the wifi at the coffee shop with the RGX4400 quite often. Pretty good router. Very impressed with it so far. No chance yet to test out the DIR-850L. can I request them to change to RGX4400 ? |

QUOTE(cyclone9 @ Jul 7 2016, 01:49 PM) I'm currently using RG4332 which had slow transfer rate (8~9 MB/s) between NAS and PC. 8-9MB/s is expected for the RG4332 since it has 100mbps ethernet ports. Assuming the bottleneck is neither the NAS nor the PC then changing to a router or switch with gigabit ports will definitely give you faster transfer rates.can I request them to change to RGX4400 ? Have you tried a direct connection from NAS to PC? Just to test the max transfer rate. Is your RG4332 still under warranty? If so and you can find something to complain about it or if it suddenly stops working then you can file a report and TM should replace it for you for free. I have no idea what replacement router they'd give though and not sure if you can request for a specific model. |

QUOTE(cyclone9 @ Jul 7 2016, 02:32 PM) how do I test NAS to PC directly? can use the normal CAT5E cable? Can, most ethernet ports are Auto MDI-X (auto crossover) so you can use your usual Cat5E to connect from NAS straight to PC. Configure your IP addresses if not done so already and test away. In the rare case that both ethernet ports for the PC and the NAS are not Auto MDI-X then you'll need a crossover ethernet cable.RG4332 is new after I upgrade to 30Mbps unifi. Other alternative modem router? Your RG4332 is under warranty since you upgraded to UniFi 30. Now you need to find something to complain about it in order for TM to change it for you. However the 100mbps ethernet ports are probably not grounds for a complaint. The cheapest option, if you can't get TM to replace the router, is to get a cheap 5-port gigabit switch and connect your NAS, PC and router to it. Maybe cost around RM60? Next option is to replace the RG4332, at your own cost, with a new router with Gb ports. I saw a WTS here for a DIR-850L for RM180, personally bought a RGX4400 for RM50 also from here or perhaps a new Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD (one of my favourite routers) for RM380. For you to compare: My old and cheap DNS-323 NAS can only manage 15-20MB/s. PC to PC I get 90MB/s sustained. *Rough figures from memory, Cat5E cabling, all gigabit network. What NAS are you using? I see that it is a D-Link from your other thread but the URL you posted is not working. This post has been edited by soonwai: Jul 7 2016, 04:45 PM |

For those with free 1 yr HypTV after getting your Unifi package, have a look at the free ASTRO Supersports channels. Impressive with the HD picture quality! I will be using that for the coming Olympics coverage.
