what source you have?

As i know TM offers is always permanent until you change the plan again. In other words, lifetime offer.

My source is the nice friendly guy that offered me the RM 169 package.
After I agreed to it. He did his usual read out all the terms and conditions to me over the phone.
That is how I know it will be reverted back to RM 199 after 2 years.

hi all, i m looking for having Unifi / Maxis Home Fibre now currently. my parents house is using Unifi and so far i have no issue with the speed especially when i download. however, the speed seems to differ when it reaches the peak hour which is around 8pm - 11pm. what about maxis? hows the maxis internet speed? by the way, is there any promotion for unifi currently? saw in their webpage is rm199 for unifi 30 advance plan whereby my parents house only rm179 for 30mb/s unifi package. any unifi sales agent welcome to pm me smile.gif

Hey guys,

recently I upgraded my net to 100mb from 2mb(maxis) and had gotten a good speed until I noticed that the wifi is not far enuff (can't reach 2nd floor of my house) and the connection sometimes disconnects at times.

so here is my question, is there a possibility that the unifi's router could be bottleneck the connection itself? and if it is, what other router that I can opt out for?

Thanks in advance

If it's a big house, it's probably a wifi signal problem. What router are you using now?

If i remember correctly i have changed it to some other brand router instead of the TM router. It improved drastically but somehow sometimes the wifi will drop or it doesnt load at all.

Is there any sales agent for tm here that wanna do my sales? Lol.

What router are you using now? And what was the previous TM router?

You can PM nyunyu, I got him to do the Unifi application for my uncle. Took only 2 work days (4 including weekend).

currently using whats provided by the unifi standard router. My other router for maxis is still working fine with wifi tho (my dad kept the maxis line too since if tm is down, maxis line can cover).

any recommendation for the other good router?

The Unifi standard router is actually very good already. Don't really see a need to buy another one.

Check out this thread for some tests I did with the "unifi standard router".

Agreed but the "unifi standard router" prefers to remain anonymous for now. blink.gif

Afaik, no notification whatsoever on suspension. All you get is authentication error in your router logs and outgoing phone calls results in a recorded message.

Anyone call tell me why my wifi speed is slightly faster than wired connection? For example wired speed can get around 28.30down/10.40up for 30mbps. But wifi 2.4ghz next to router can get dl speed sometimes 29 and upload 10.60-90 sometimes 11 while wired speed almost same everytime if not lower.

Well, tons of things could affect the speed on wired connections as well. Cable length, Cable Type (Category 5e, Category 6), Cable Condition, Network Card, Router, etc.

Even with wireless, depending on the device you are using (i.e. Smartphone or Laptop) and the distance to the AP/Router, the speeds might vary as well.

Current price is RM199 for 30mbps and Aneka, Varnam or Ruby. Ruby used to be RM10 more. Don't think there's any other promo.
