Google DNS = nothing loads whatsoever, including Google itself
Auto DNS = Most US sites (Apple, Battle.net, Origin, Steam, Amazon etc) blocked with redirect to outdated notice by Unifi
Other US DNS = Same as Auto DNS

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between these two process which is restarting to router. The BTU can only be restart through the power button. But the router can go to router settings through web browser to restart or the power button? What is the difference?
*
button is for your convenience,
no matter it's done by physically or button-ly, it will still considered as power cycling the device.

The reason why you can't access the BTU through browser is because you doesn't directly connected to it. And required some ip address configuration.

But usually, we just need to restart the router

P/S: if you just want to change to a new IP range, just find button that can dc/reconnect the internet. Thus, we dun need to restart the router completely.

The speed is okay, ping about 60+ most of the time. But sometime it lags to "start the run". Not so responsive.

btw, Agent told me to add RM 1 to keep the number. TM point counter personnel told me cannot use the old phone number on Unifi. My friend successfully carry his old phone number to Unifi, then terminate his copper account.

Im so confused lol
*
It actually works like this :

You will have two line in your house after signing Unifi

1. Unifi
2. TM

so you have two telephone no.

remember we used to pay the TM rental fee? If you upgrade to unifi from streamyx using the same name, the rental fee will be waived. (cause if u terminate Streamyx, u have to pay for the rental fee)

that's what the real meaning of keeping the old telephone no after signing Unifi.

keep in mind that Streamyx bundle have a discount when calling TM no, so after terminating, u must remember not to use TM line to call out~ use unifi number onwards ya.

we keep the old number just to let people call in~

You just have to tick the following option in the form when signing up the Unifi.

SECTION 2: EXISTING STREAMYX/ TM HOMELINE DETAILS

"Terminate Streamyx only"

user posted image

next,

RM1 is the charges for Butir Lengkap Panggilan STD

This service is to view the called numbers and miniutes etc in details
eg
0111243331 0:01sec RM1.00

you can apply for not using this service, thus we no need to pay extra RM1/month

TD;DR

landed building will have a new fiber line pulled directly to your house, becoming two line, thus two telephone number

as for high rise building(VDSL service), Unifi will usually utilize the existing Streamyx/Telephone/VDSL copper line

please refer to the pic below, anyhow, after setup also got two line but (one internet, one only for telephone)

The following setup is just like what we did for streamyx+phone, but now is two different telephone no.
Thanks to VOIP?

I used to have separate streamyx and telephone line. Now, I have just terminated the streamyx line.

So next, i'll have to tell them i want to terminate telephone line but want to keep the number with RM 1, merge account with unifi ?
*
Please remember that the waived rental fee offer only applicable to current (ONE) streamyx account.

No merging is required, TM telephone line is retained, just the streamyx will be terminated.

your case will be : 2 telephone line, 1 unifi

so, there will be three numbers.

ONLY the streamyx telephone line's rental fee will be waived, the either one remains the same, cause it is NOT related in this case.

RM1 is Butir Lengkap Panggilan STD service, you can unsubscribe it.

as stated in my previous comment.

You just have to tick the following option in the form when signing up the Unifi.

SECTION 2: EXISTING STREAMYX/ TM HOMELINE DETAILS

"Terminate Streamyx only"

BAGUS!

What is this special package called? The TM lady told me I have to pay RM20(?) to keep my old number and she did say about using that for incoming calls and use the new phone for outgoing due to the free calls.

They will come tomorrow to install Unifi here. If I called TM, they will tell me the same thing as what the previous TM lady told me.

Help, help!
*
this is just a upgrade offer for existing streamyx user, automatically one.

You will know better if you check the form, there's one section that allow you to choose whether to terminate just the streamyx or both the service (streamyx and TM line)
[refer to my previous comment for the picture]

I think the RM20 is referring to new Unifi call plan, it is now bundled with current Unifi Advance and Pro plan

rental fee is RM25
Butir Lengkap Panggilan STD service is RM1

Which mean the telephone line rental fee cannot be waived even after merging with unifi ?
*
Streamyx telephone line : YES
normal telephone line : NO

There is no such thing as "merging TM telephone line to Unifi", both different, both have its own number.

But if you only have normal telephone line, and u want to register for Unifi, I think TM will allow to waive the rental fee. Call 100 and see.

Anyone staying in high rise building?

And upgraded to Unifi from Streamyx?

Please help explain how keeping old Streamyx number works.

for land building work is lot easier by pulling a new unifi line, thus we have two number from separated devices.

but for high rise building is sharing the same old streamyx line right... [confused]

Thanks.

Installation of unifi will switch your port from conventional copper to VDSL and therefore streamyx will be disconnected. You can't have both.
*
How about the telephone number?

Is the new Unifi phone number same with the old Streamyx number?

Most building will not be able to utilize this method. You could try though
*
Then how TM will keep their old telephone no?

How about yours?

I was given an option about this Ruby Pack when I asked to switch from Aneka Pack.

Funny thing is that none of the staff in TMPoint knew about this package which I personally received it from TM ppl themselves via email

Are you guys getting the full channel in Ruby Pack and does your current bill stated Ruby Pack or Ruby Pack 2?

I am paying RM40 for RubyPack, so I can view SCM channel 228 as well.

AFAIK, TM start this waive rental fee thing at 2015.
B4 2015, i think most people  have to make the difficult decision that giving up the old number or paying for  the rental fee (sb even change the number to tm prepaid  for saving money)

Obviously , it is not fair that TM didn't allow non-combo package user to keep their old telephone number in free of charge.
Did you success to keep your old number?
Your experience is valuable , pls don't mind to share... icon_idea.gif
p/s: I just wonder can we upgrade the streamyx(non-combo) to combo, and then immediately upgrade the combo to unifi ? can this work?  hmm.gif  brows.gif

My case is very complicated as my old streamyx and phone call lines were seperated.

I terminated streamyx line only. Now still not sure TM will let me waive my phone call lines rental fee or not...
*
Just ask 100 for more info, and if you get rejected, you always have MCMC on your side.

At least in my case, TM allowed to waive my rental fee even different name registered for unifi and TM homeline account and I have already terminated streamyx long time ago before reporting to MCMC. Thanks to MCMC thumbup.gif

Yes, confirm. After 2 years it'll revert back to RM 199.
RM 169 doesn't include phone calls. It's PAYU now.
*
what source you have?

As i know TM offers is always permanent until you change the plan again. In other words, lifetime offer.

Need advice as well.

What other router that allows LAN4 port to be configure?
Currently using TL-WR1043ND router, but the wireless signal has become really bad with constant disconnection.  sad.gif
*
Using TL-WR1043ND too, no problem here

try flash a new firmware, or just direct flash to OpenWRT rclxs0.gif

Anyone knows whether the stock router Dlink Dir850 can be turn into a wifi repeater?
*
Yes, but recommend you do AP mode (using cable connection), because repeater mode very depends on the source wifi, if source wifi down, repeater also now.
