Even if it doesn't upgrade, I'm not forced to do my work here all the time. biggrin.gif I used the dance emoticon because the server is much powerful. flex.gif

Well, honestly those reps are also fishing for customers. So yeah, UniFi thread has no obvious agents here which I also appreciate. smile.gif

You still can have the old line number, just need to tell them....pay a nominal fee per mth will do....but I dun maintain it.
Do check with TM abt it.

The physical line cant merge , but you can have 2 lines (copper and Fibre Optic)

I asked about keeping the old number. They said need to pay some RM20/month (if I remember correctly).

For RM240 per year, I think I better let it go and start using the new number. Ha.

How do you find your new unifi 30? As expected, better or worse?

The speed is okay, ping about 60+ most of the time. But sometime it lags to "start the run". Not so responsive.

btw, Agent told me to add RM 1 to keep the number. TM point counter personnel told me cannot use the old phone number on Unifi. My friend successfully carry his old phone number to Unifi, then terminate his copper account.

Im so confused lol

It actually works like this :

You will have two line in your house after signing Unifi

1. Unifi
2. TM

so you have two telephone no.

remember we used to pay the TM rental fee? If you upgrade to unifi from streamyx using the same name, the rental fee will be waived. (cause if u terminate Streamyx, u have to pay for the rental fee)

that's what the real meaning of keeping the old telephone no after signing Unifi.

keep in mind that Streamyx bundle have a discount when calling TM no, so after terminating, u must remember not to use TM line to call out~ use unifi number onwards ya.

we keep the old number just to let people call in~

You just have to tick the following option in the form when signing up the Unifi.

SECTION 2: EXISTING STREAMYX/ TM HOMELINE DETAILS

"Terminate Streamyx only"

user posted image

next,

RM1 is the charges for Butir Lengkap Panggilan STD

This service is to view the called numbers and miniutes etc in details
eg
0111243331 0:01sec RM1.00

you can apply for not using this service, thus we no need to pay extra RM1/month

TD;DR

landed building will have a new fiber line pulled directly to your house, becoming two line, thus two telephone number

as for high rise building(VDSL service), Unifi will usually utilize the existing Streamyx/Telephone/VDSL copper line

please refer to the pic below, anyhow, after setup also got two line but (one internet, one only for telephone)

The following setup is just like what we did for streamyx+phone, but now is two different telephone no.
Thanks to VOIP?
