Unfortunately they did not sent any TnC or agreement for the BT.. after we agree to take up they will call again from their
recording system and playback the TnC and ask us to confirm on this recording system.. haha .. it is quite a risk ..i reckon..
but for me, mine BT 6 month have just past and every month i only pay 5% of total BT. By the 4th month they call again and ask
to take another flexi BT .. I also oblige...so on my due date on 30th sept.. i call 2 times and the different CS say different figure..
end up i make 2 instant transfer last Sat to avoid the short payment as i cant figure out the exact BT sum to pay for the 1st BT.
UOB set up a new BT account and i have 2 active BT with this account.. so confusing.. I also dont want to be caught paying 18% pa
for those BT. In our monthly statement it will show the draw down date of BT and 6 month from this date we must re-pay all the BT ,
do not follow the statement Due date as the BT expiry date will be 6 month from the draw down date.

Overall i would say UOB is very generous with BT and i have benefit a lot from their offer ... only thing is we need to be very very
careful with their Expiry Dates and Early settlement as otherwise it will cause us $$$$$.

Do we have a reference for the draw down date of BT in the monthly statement?
I guess no based on the info given here, therefore we need to call CS and ask about the start date then
??!!

Many thanks for sharing your experience!

Yes, dare not take up their numerous offers over the years .
Partly due to lack of formal info ...usually received call from very enthusiastic sales person ( makes me very wary of them)

Did UOB attach/send the TnC/agreement for the specific BT Plan that was approved?

I feel safer to have a formal BnW TnC to refer to rather than the verbal version by CS on the phone.
eg  CS said no penalty for early settlement but looks like there's a RM100  charge.
CS said pay only 5% of outstanding BT amount  each month, by end of 6 months pay balance from approval date.
Is "Approval date' = to date of pay out of BT sum? Payout date probably will be few days after Date of approval.

Don't want to be caught paying 18% pa for the BT amount  bangwall.gif
Is there any reference to this as BT Plan 11?
There appears to be some variations in the TnC for the different Plans that are on offer.

Yes ..it is there .. the Transaction Date when UOB pay the other bank is the draw down date, 6 month from this date is the expiry date.

you should explain which is Bank A (from) and Bank B (to).

1) reason is each bank's BT program handles differently. some dont care on the amount, some only look at outstanding amount in statement, etc.

2) of course! you should verify the transfer fund in Bank B. you have so much faith in all the banks to work flawlessly and efficiently? laugh.gif

Thank you for the reply. Is from MBB to OCBC

How to verify the amount? From the receiving bank or from the issuance bank?

yes, its possible and i have done that with MBB.
To answer your question, it is ii) 15k x 80% = 12k.
bearbear it make sense to pro long the payment period with same amount of money, consider below scenario.

assuming zero outstanding, no new transaction, and allow 100% of available CL to be used for BT for ease of explanation.

MBB CC CL is 5k, and deposit 7k cash into it, so the available CL is now 12k (with 7k credit in the account).
If we BT 12k from other bank to MBB for 12 mths plan, effectively the monthly repayment is 1k, since we have 7k in credit, we do not need to pay single sen for 7 months.

Whereby had we BT 5k to MBB and paid the 7k cash to other CC, we will have to pay  RM416.67 (5000 / 12) every month to MBB CC.

Bro,

If we do like what you have suggested,

Can we still use the -7K credit balance in the card ? Or that amount will be locked after we applied balance transfer ?

Thanks !

indirectly consider locked, because in above scenario, the available credit limit for spending is zero.
