I'm on existing 300mbps plan for RM179, but I will downgrade to 500mbps. 1gbps is overkill, most wifi device can't reach that fast anyway.TIME [OFFICIAL] TIME Fibre Broadband™ v3.o, 500 Mbps of rocket science

QUOTE(ralyon @ Oct 6 2018, 02:24 PM) I just got the free TPLINK Archer C1200 from TIME. No renewal of contract required right? My contract expired - don't wish to renew Tested using my phone (AC1200 capable) 1 meter from the router, max 300Mbps DL, 500Mbps UL. Weird thing is it can reach 500mbps UL but DL only 300mbps. Maybe the router transmitting power is not good enough. When I tested with the same conditions but using Archer C7(AC1750), I got 500+mbps DL and 500mbps UL. How long from the day you requested till they come install? |

If I want to switch from streamyx under contract to Time does Time still have the easy switch program to cover the termination fees?

QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 6 2018, 12:32 PM) If you want 500Mbps on WiFi. Get at least AC1900 and above. The receiving devices must support too. Thanks. QUOTE(vernon91 @ Oct 6 2018, 12:33 PM) QUOTE(FusionXY @ Oct 6 2018, 12:34 PM) This is the link speed. In reality cannot achieve that speed. Highly doubt so. If u advertise 867mbps, even if can get 400mbps speed also ok. Nobody asking for full speed. Everyone here said can achieve 300Mbps max on 5GHz using AC1200. Do read the Turbo Router thread and see which router can achieve what speed. Thanks. Besides i just did a speedtest again just now with ac1200 and Now i am getting 340mbps dl and 320 mbps ul speed. So i am guessing is the full speed of 500mbps will be achieved by tomorrow once they make announcement. |

Don't need such high speed in the room. Waiting for the free router to come to my house. Thanks. This post has been edited by FusionXY: Oct 6 2018, 04:28 PM |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Oct 6 2018, 04:56 PM) If you upgrade to 1Gbps plan and re-contract for 24-months, then you are eligible for the free Dlink-882 router. Time is installing on Monday and I signed up for 500 Mbps since no official 1 Gbps announcement last week. I will sign up for 1 Gbps. So, will Time install AC1200 or DR-882? |
