As I know, Maxis Fiber use same as UNIFI Fiber.
Just curious, how about TIME fiber?
Are they all same type and can reuse?

Dear bro

Georgetown area affected as per report due to third party equipment has issue. Time are working hard to recover the problem.

Estimated down time 2-4 hours.

Thanks

Is this interrupt totally cannot online (disconnect) or just internet slow?

Dear bro

The interruption is due to third party equipment issue , during yesterday the interruption last less than 2 hours in which everybody in area affected cannot online.

Anyway the most important is Time response time on service disruption is quick and efficient compared to other telco.
Thanks.
*
Thanks for the explanation.

I wonder why the ping is so high.
*
Sorry, ping higher meaning connection not good or server side slow response?

QUOTE(alexloon @ Mar 1 2018, 02:37 PM)
While my TIME just installed, the speed test run result are not meet to expectation with CAT5e cable.
So i ask the TIME installer to give me a CAT6.... boom! 1 Ping to TIME server, other server 2-4 Ping and speed 99.9% full bar. And he let me keep the cable too.
Hope this help. Cheers.
*
oh, thanks for this info notworthy.gif

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Mar 1 2018, 05:17 PM)
Call Time to get both credentials and password, and yes, Asus Rt-AC1300UHP is a good choice.
*
From what I know, TM user need to login with their username & password to connect to internet. So for TIME, we do not has username and password?
Just wondering why we need credentials/password from TIME and this info use to key-in into modem or router? hmm.gif

Time do have username and password as well. All the telco company /ISP that provides Internet services use PPPoE as a main point to identify users, to validate that you have authorization to be on their domain and to provides service to specific users. That’s how they identify you and the speed that you are subscribed to. See here: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/hardware-route...view-710-7.html
*
ok, so this info actually set into modem, not router, correct me if I were wrong.
As long as my modem can connect to internet, even I use old router (low speed) still no problem, right? sweat.gif

Hi,

PPPOE credential is to be set in the Router, not the ONU (aka Fiber Modem).

Thanks.
*
oppss sweat.gif Noted
So the username and password save and stored in ONU, right?

No. You have to set it on the router, not the ONU, and the information is not on the ONU. The ONU is to be used for networking purposes: http://www.ad-net.com.tw/introduction-to-o...l-network-unit/

Call TIME to get your info as I say before.
*
ok, once I get it, next time I can reuse back the same one, unless I changed my package plan, right?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Mar 2 2018, 09:54 AM)
As bro kmrdeva mentioned in his post, you can reuse it and you will have the same pppoe username and password even if you switch packages,

Hi, is it possible to set PPPoE on the modem itself? the one that has the fibre connection.
Getting fed up with the AC1200 provided by TIME, and would like to run the wireless direct through my ubiquiti AP.
*
Mind to share what is your major issue on TP-Link AC1200? Hang few times per day?

Frequent disconnection, my uptime ranges from 2 hours to 1 day. Won't reconnect unless i manually reboot the router. Majorly reported issue among AC1200 users
*
I see. I'm new user with this router too.
So far... "touch wood" still working fine with me smile.gif

Anyway, just my feeling, I felt the router is quite warm which I don't like sweat.gif
