QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Jun 30 2009, 09:50 PM) 0.36 Mbps = 46.08 kBps ^^ That speed is the normal speed you (and we) should get...By right, 3G connection max speed is that speed any factual site to back your claim? as far as i know, WCDMA max speed is 3.6Mbps.

Then, my apologies for making the wrong statement. After a quick search on Google, it shows that both UMTS and WCDMA are the same thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS Only by HSDPA, it can go beyond 384kbps.

Here is a sentence that catched my eye... ......users in deployed networks can expect a transfer rate of up to 384 kbit/s for R99 handsets....There are other technical names and different versions of 3G... I wonder if Maxis is using Release '99. I'll do some further research (reading)...till then, stay tuned

hi guys , if you are uisng the dialer " Sierra Wireless Watcher ", and you see tat the signal is -63dBm, wat does ie mean? tested on a Cingular Sierra Wireless pcmcia card look how this card term Maxis3G as contract and i dun nid to input the APN , they are all done for in this wireless modem

Just a tip to those who lag and dc during 12am-6am period:
Maxis opens all ports at this time, so there are lots of torrenters who would leave torrenting on and thus slow down the internet.
Solution? Use ur internet at some other time from these.

Base on my understanding, the dBm shows the signal strength... and the Maxis3G (Contract) is just a name for your connection profile... all of the profiles are pre-set by the modem when we bought it... and it's just a name
