Thanks for the kind replies, I know that Seremban and certain areas in Malacca are covered with 3G and 3.5G but then in the coverage website, it shows only EDGE in such areas. sweat.gif

I don't think my area has Maxis 3G. Sad. Never mind then...

I'll wait till I leave to KL for my career, precisely in June. biggrin.gif

edit: typo sweat.gif

if u are to reside in KL, try U-Mobile cause its cheaper and less complaint fr Users too rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

1)is it necessary to tied this subscription to a voice plan, if yes will it be cheaper to either plan, voice and data?

2) can i use it on a unlock usb modem?

3) can i download stuff fr rapidshare cause my umobile which utilise a shared IP cannot DL fr RS?

4) this sim is not on shared IP?

5)so its rm99/mth and no FUP and can DL like mad those torrents ?

I have asked before and most of your questions were answered here: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry24338335 and http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry24338401

I didn't ask about the shared IP only, maybe they are using shared IP just like other providers? hmm.gif

Not necessary to be tied with a voice plan.
Yes, no FUP for this plan, it is not wireless broadband.

thx

Yes iPhone 3G can be used as modem but not for video call.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
*
a 3G IPhone main function is Video Calls rite?

as far as i knoe, Iphone cannot be use to "bridge" the internet connection to a PC/Laptop
this Apple marvel is not cable/bluetooth freindly cause they are afraid tat third party connection will somehow make them no so "original"

come on man, IPhone users pls post something to clarify this tongue.gif

we also can use internet sharing to bridge the net connetion to our desktop/notebk

"Product-i" is probably some china clone phone. It's just another marketing blab by Celcom to reel in customers.

Currently only Maxis has the non-exclusive rights to sell iPhone in Malaysia.

I've used MMI before with Multi-SIM 1 line. The RM99 charge is for 1 SIM card only. If activate data unlimited for 2 SIM cards, its RM99 + (RM15 + RM99).
*
but u can only use ONLY ONE SIM at any one time, if not one guy subscribe many supp sim and many users can use all at once

rite????

You can use all the SIMs at the same time. You are already paying for it. That's the purpose of having multi-SIM 1 line - use 1 for your phone, 1 for blackberry or any device at the same time.
*
so i think i may subscribe for a data sim, any users here wanna share a sim?
pm me and we all share the bill

Next month only going PJ, so I'll KIV for this case. smile.gif
*
anymore maxis "3G internet to go" wannabe?

pm me and we can hav an agreement

if there is no 3G/HSDPA signal available, it will always fall back to EDGE of GPRS, so no worries

However, if you want to activate data unlimited for both SIMs, you have to pay RM99 x 2. That is my understanding. You can further confirm this by logging in to Maxis website, check you account. You will notice under the Value Added Services, the unlimited data plan is activated on one of your SIM only. If you activate the other one, you have to pay another RM99.
*
ANYONE here can confirm this?

thx

mine data unlimited 99 + 15 + 15 + 5%tax = 135.45...all three simcards are unlimited... my sister & girlfriend use another 2 sim cards...  brows.gif

[attachmentid=958383]

but my advice...

first step, better take data unlimited 99 as a main simcard...they will give u normal maxis 3g postpaid simcard..

later (after a few days) then only add multi sim 1 line... u can add up to 5 additional cards  cool2.gif...all other cards will follow whateva the mainline capabilities... ohh yeah forget to mentioned, they will also replace your existing main simcard to new multisim 1 line simcard plus how much new simcards that u need to add....

thats the concept of multisim 1 line...

if both pon kena rm99....better create new fresh account....no need to use multi sim one line like that...
*
so its confirmed tat one card multi sim work like this

99 + 15 + 15 + 5%tax = 135.45...all three simcards are unlimited

thanks bro, u are juz GREAT

and if 5 multi sims will be like

99 + 15 + 15 + 15 + 15 + 5%tax............
and all sims can be use simultaneously at once on 5 usb modems/ 3G fones

apn for data unlimited is unet while apn for maxis broadband is maxisbb...

they actually use the same network...access point gateway that make the different between maxis 3g service & maxis broadband...
*
if we surf on fon, will this settings be auto installed if we asked installation fr maxis thr sms?

I just spoke to their CS about this. It seems for Multi-SIM 1 line, all you have to do is to activate RM99 unlimited data on the primary SIM card and the rest of the SIM card will enjoy unlimited data as well. So just need to pay RM99 for the service.  This was not the case 2 years ago when I talked to another CS and he says RM99 unlimited data applies to 1 SIM card only. If activate on another SIM, have to pay another RM99.

Nope. I applied for mine at Orange Mobile, Taman Sungei Besi. I think you can apply for it at any Maxis centre or MASA outlet.
*
so if multisim, say 2 sim and a "mother sim " rm99+rm15+rm15=rm129

and all 3 sim can go on9 all at once at 3 different location??

thx
