5D Mark IV should be in NAB this April 2016! Its rumored to be at NAB. One more month to find out what this camera really has!

And the long-awaited fate of Canon Videographers' of staying with Canon or not will probably be decided with this camera . And some might enjoy the price slash of the 5d mk3.

Let's wait and see but I think more people will pray for the price slash of mark III

Hi Sifus, i need some advise about auto focus mode.

Currently i'm doing freelance for wedding actual day job, always use for AF-one shot mode but found some of the photo is oof when i pre-focus and re-composition.

Any idea to solve this? Thanks in advance

What lens used, focal length and aperture? Was the subject moving? Whats the shutter spèed?

Very narrow dof lens can produce blur even if you recompose after AF. To mitigate that theres a recompose technique that move in parallel with the dof plane than just swinging your camera.

Before sending for repair if any, try do some test shots on static subject on tripod to check. If ok, then perhaps its just you.

Just curious. The picture with the focus and recompose, what shutter speed and aperture you using? Be better if you got the blurry sample shots.

Have you test out the camera on tripod anyway?

Thinking to get a wide angle lens, was considering between Tokina 16-28mm F2.8 and Canon 17-40mm F4.0

Some said Tokina has a sharper image. Should just go and try yourself.

Tokina indeed sharper than Canon 17-40 but heavier and bigger as well. Most probably will go for Tokina

I guess any small camera with a hotshoe can do what you're asking for. And with third party flashes like Meike MK320 having ttl for a lot of brands. I guess you can just choose your desired small camera that has a hot shoe first.

A Panasonic LX100/GM5 with the MK320 is a nice small combo.

But since you asked this in a Canon thread the Canon 270EX ii is an awesome small ttl flash that works very well on the hot shoes of Powershots and EOS Ms.

Hello bro, nope. I'm just using on Camera flash. The lighting was very horrible, changes every second, sometimes very bright sometimes very low, the colors of the light changes frequently too. I had to constantly change the ISO.

Hey guys, i'm in the market of buying a prime lens (currently eyeing Canon's 50mm F1.8 STM because it's the most affordable one). It's my first upgrade since the purchase of 650D w/ 18-55mm & 55-250mm. I find that my shoots are mostly portraits, so it seems like a reasonable path to get a cheap prime as my first upgrade.

So seeing Canon's upgrade to their famous f1.8 primes, I actually decided to get the STM version. Asked for the pricing with one the famous malaysian shops, and its price is around ~rm500-ish. Consulted one of my friends (wedding videographer/media student) about getting the STM version after trying out his mk.2, but he strongly advised my against buying the STM version saying that the STM doesn't really offer much benefits for the extra price. He said to better use the money for a second-hand f1.4, but if I'm dead set on getting the f1.8 then he would just rather recommend the mk.2 instead.

So, here am I, asking for more opinions, to go with mk.2 or STM? Way-in pls sifu!

p/s I know it's just merely a cheapo lens compared to all the godly lens, it's just an small addition to my camera gear that doesn't cost me a bomb. One of a side-interests of mine hahahahaha.

If not mistaken mkII has rounder bokeh than the old one cause of the new aperture design and metal mount.

mk2 using 5 aperture blade, it actually give pentagon shape bokeh

STM uses 7 aperture blades iinm to give a rounder bokeh, which looks nice

Oh right. stupid me. All these lenses name confuses me sometimes. All I know the "newer" 50mm has metal mount and rounded bokeh.

I was in the Family list as 600D user, please count me in the 70D users now! Haha.

Anyway, seems like I have some dust on one of my mirrors. Just in case it's too sticky to remove with the handheld blower, how much do you guys think it'll cost me to clean the mirrors at the official Canon service centers?

Even worse, you risk scratching the sensor.

STM only add metal mount and manual focus overwrite.
Image quality almost same as previous one.
Problem is mk2 old model, if get used unit cannot guaranty the condition.
Just get new STM since only rm500+.

I also own EFS 24mm F2.8 STM, it is cheap and light to carry.
Personally I prefer focal length on EFS 24mm as compared to EF 50mm on crop body.
