Not only me, but many ppl who tried this have reported that this workaround works. So I doubt it has to do with any physical damage to the cable... more like some network settings of some sort based on different IP segments.

I have no comment on the cable things since I'm clueless about that.

About the FB thing, yesterday and day before I can't access at all until I change the router, in which not slow at all but streaming/gaming and downloading (not torrenting) is really slow and spiky.

I'll try the external IP thing later on.

edit : my external IP is 175.xxx but still spiky haha

It's really sad this happened, on top of their shitty routing to Korean servers since last year.

Contacted them and was told to reboot the router after they reset the port. Ping spiked from 230+ to 400+ and have stayed like that ever since.

How's the connectivity to Singapore?

It is pretty bad for most IP range to me.

Bad for me too.
If you're planning to mitigate the poor connectivity through VPN, try HK servers. They work fine for me.

then what to do.. can't claim rebate either, at least that's what has been told by TM Connects on FB.

I also have to sacrifice my Netflix and Hulu for a month now. Luckily not yet cut Astro or else sure Mati kutu also at home.

I update to Unifi and the result is even worst then my 8mbps streamyx. Cannot online gaming. Shit.
