Coming from 5Mbps to 20Mbps and then to 50Mbps.
Just sharing - Nothing much changes since the 20Mbps era except faster torrent downloads (currently at 6.3MB/s full speed). But nowadays 50Mbps sitting idle as there's nothing much to download. Downloaded many series but no time to catch up. Yes 500Mbps would have been better but I'm having problem utilizing 50Mbps now. What I'm dulan now is the price TM charges. QUOTE(voncrane @ Mar 23 2016, 01:50 PM) Well that's your take.. Technology won't be what it is today if advancements were not made and everyone simply sat & accepted their fate. When the black & white TVs were released, should we have stopped there? Or perhaps, stuck with dialup speeds with the 56k modem.. Please do not contribute to the legend that Malaysians love slower Internet speeds.. As mentioned earlier I also prefer 500Mbps but then think if I get it also no use, as not many can utilize it.Even 50mbps is more than enough for most people. What we all want is price reduction. if got better speed at cheaper price also good. understand ur frustration. time better speed and cheaper price, who wouldn't? From my experience jumping from 20mbps to 50mbps - surfing speed no improvement, just download speed better. people should focus on quality of line, rather than speed. latency is always preferred over speed. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 23 2016, 09:54 PM) This was back in November when I was asking on behalf of my friend but unfortunately her unit doesn't have Time coverage, only Unifi. If don't have promo also I will cut. This was his reply to me: "You may go for Unifi first...we do have a Easy Switch Promo, where later you could switch over to TIME, you are entitled for RM500 rebate to cover your penalty imposed by TM." Oh well, there are plenty of the agents in the Time Broadband thread, you can spot one and enquire. Probably that promo was just for that period? RM 149 for 100Mbps? I'm paying RM 249 for half of that. I can breakeven in 5 months. |

QUOTE(Zi-Tech @ Mar 24 2016, 05:10 PM) suddenly due to TIME new pricing, feeling like now TM is do the profiteering for their services and can be charge under The Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011... Well actually they can counter and say the deployment cost is higher for landed units.need to complaint to kpdnkk also... Actually, TM holds the record for the single highest fiber deployment in the world. If I remember correctly, it was 2,5xx homes per day. |

QUOTE(vez @ Mar 25 2016, 11:37 PM) like Time 100Mbps + + + Will see.just guess, must give UniFi pressure, BECAUSE if Maxis offer better speed, it means anyone on UniFi can switch to Maxis If they can offer 1Gbps for RM 299..hmm QUOTE(Phonzy @ Mar 25 2016, 11:40 PM) Is Unifi still experiencing slow speed? Downloading apps on my iPhone on wifi and i cant even download anything...hop off WiFi into maxis data ...immediately downloads...router setting or unifi problem still? Yes. I have problems connecting to some of our servers in Europe.sigh But switching to VPN and everything works fine. |

QUOTE(kyle_kon @ Mar 27 2016, 06:14 PM) Just tried. Yup able to reach 30mbps speed if directly connected to router. Wifi though remains at 10-15mbps. Is this normal? Anyway to improve the download speed for wifi? Get a better router. QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 27 2016, 06:19 PM) Well, obviously this would be unfair to existing customers. If this happens, they should get automatically "upgraded" to the new package. Oh my, dreaming now |

QUOTE(jolmy @ Mar 28 2016, 05:56 PM) Well, if you see carefully, the MaxisONE Home is: Doesn't matter. Not like they're offering cheap internet packages either. To make things worse, UniFi is better.*MaxisONE Home 20Mbps, 30Mbps is open to all MaxisONE Plan 128 and above customers only. MaxisONE Home 100Mbps exclusive to MaxisONE plan 158, 188, MaxisONE Business and MaxisONE Business Extra. So if you are not subscribed to their the MaxisONE mobile plans stated above, sorry, you are not welcomed to sign up for the new fibre packages. Sort of a tactic Maxis use to prevent their mobile customers from switching to other telco perhaps? Many Maxis mobile users, myself included, have switched to cheaper mobile packages, particularly from Celcom & DiGi. |

QUOTE(jolmy @ Mar 28 2016, 07:21 PM) I'm actually hoping that Maxis will come out with cheaper packages for everyone, NOT just subscribers of their super expensive MaxisONE mobile packages! They couldn't because they're on TM backbone. In that way, TM will eventually be forced to lower their pricing for UniFi in order to keep customers. Unfortunately, looks like Maxis is not giving TM any real competition at all. |
