If u do that.. u would lose close to 50% of your capital.

I suggest for u to at least share with us why u chose to buy at 1.40 (which i assume the time u bought was around April or June 2015) and what's the rational for selling now at half price.

Then some of the sifu here can share their input.

My take is... u should consider whether there is further or any upside to be expected from:
a. China operations
b. Indonesia operations
c. property e-commerce (property365.my)

If u choose to sell your stake now, are you confident to do better with the proceeds in other investments?

Hello everyone, CNY is round the corner and the market is still asleep. Correction Not asleep but falling off the bed. At least my fiasco AAX investment is showing some light these few days. But it a long way to go back to the Qt1 2015 prices.

This predicament was very similar to my AAX experience. I refused to average down after burning a few times doing it. Meanwhile as story unfolds and with time i learned more . I had to accept the weakness of this investment. The good thing i find is the management of this company is at least they are not sitting on warm chairs and lots of Hoo Har parties, ( Debatable i m sure by others) They were creative and i hold that factor as single most valued point. However their Finances were in horrible condition, loss quarter after quarter

I realised that a lot of people buy a stock first then only do homework later.
And some... do partial homework before buying and only do detail homework later.
We humans tend to very impatient and have itchy fingers to press the "Buy" button before figuring what to do with the "Sell" button.
We always think... MUST grab the opportunity now~~!! YOLO~!! Lai la quick profit~!
The above applies to me as I am still human

But as time passes by, we must all evolve for the better.
So... need to exercise more patience, do a tonne of homework and don't get distracted easily.
Just remember, it's not the end of the world if u miss a boat of opportunity.
There are tonnes of such boats all year round.
Just make sure u don't bet on a boat that gives u an express ticket to Holland.

On AAX or AA ...
Different people different assessment.
I know a lot of people who won't invest in such business as it makes no sense for them to do so. Super high capex and borrowings versus minimal margins from a budget airlines. Somemore subject to the mercy of forex, oil prices and significant repair and maintenance cost.

Others will say... its a good biz model. They like what they see and can "experience".
AA taking up major slices of the cake all around. Winning awards everywhere. Supposedly good management and PR people like Uncle Tony.
Overall sounds good, seems good but is it really that good?
Does the numbers make sense to the valuation and price of the stock?
Is the prospects of the Company really worth your investment now?
How does the Company fare versus other competitors in the same industry (e.g MAB, SIA, Cathay etc).

On a side note... alternatively, u could have invested in the warrants when it was around 4.5 to 5 cents while the mother share was at all time low.
Not sure if u can still climb in on the boat now...

Very true. I was holding since 0.36, starts making money now although still lose in mother share.

I have a friend who bought in at 0.2, after few months down, he sold off all at 0.21 Monday with RM50 nett profit. Now regret as it climb to 24cents.

Thank you for sharing. Yeah i try no to put too much emotion onto this mistake but growing up from a Baby Boomer era its hard . Its good AAX remains on my portfolio because each time before i click the Buy button now, This gleaming Red flag would act as a hard reminder.

You are referring to the Gamuda-C18 warrant right? Warrant suspended due to maturity of call warrant.

Be careful of call warrants and their validity. Don't just hold on to them forever.

Call warrants have the C attached to the ticker if you don't know how to spot one.

If I am not mistaken, you can claim back if your warrant is in the money. That is it needs to close 4.60 and above.

thanks for the heads up,

the rights issue being offered was 3 right shares for every 5 existing shares, which means my cost would be RM0.75 [RM0.25x3] + RM2.00 [RM0.40x5] (assuming my buy in price for the share is RM0.40 per share)
= RM2.75 / 8 = RM0.3438 (new cost per share) & on top of that i got 3 free warrants which i can convert into main share or sell it

are my assumptions correct as above?

Not really that complicated.

Let's say you have 5,000 shares in Sunzen. Assuming you hold it until the 29th of January, which from there is an ex-date, you will be entitled to 3,000 free rights shares. That means if you want the free warrants, just pay 0.25 extra for every rights hold. Nothing more than that.

If you do not want the rights, you may sell off on the open market but usually depending on the situation, most of the time, the rights shares will fall on first day. Best to keep track of it just to be sure. You will have until before the 15th of February to decide on selling.

Hmmmmm the new levy rates for foreign workers are gonna screw up a lot of businesses that are dependant on foreign workers.

A lot of industries will be affected: manufacturing, construction, service, plantation and agriculture.

I thought finding good staff/workers was already hard enough. To train and retain them is also a challenge. Now govt wants to make it even more interesting. Susah dot com.

FBM KLCI was up 23.47 points or 1.44% to 1,656.77 – recouping more than the 20 points loss the previous day. Turnover was 2.05 billion shares valued at RM2.08bil. Advancers beat decliners 512 to 341 while 309 counters were unchanged.

Despite the KLCI's gain, analysts were mindful of the sustainability of the index's advance.

"The mid-term outlook (for KLCI) is still bearish. Today's rise was more of a technical rebound," Jupiter Securities Sdn Bhd chief market strategist Benny Lee reporting.

"The gains were mostly because of the rebound in crude oil prices and the ringgit today," Lee said.

Yen Global Bhd has been issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia, following the recent rise in the price and trading volume of its shares.

Hi, I plan on investing oil and gas company. Anyone here have any idea on where I can have oil and gas news so I can have some idea on why it goes down or if it will ever goes up again.

Oil prices from last year May 2015 was $ 64 until $ 30 a barrel today, depreciated more than 50 percent. So, if we think the price is very low now, people began to buy in large quantity of so-called bargain, the majority would be the winner. But the fact is not like that.
In my personal view if oil prices can rise again,but it must break 50 dollars a barrel again. If it cannot break in the short term, oil prices have not bottomed out.

O&G stocks have different segment, upstream, downstream, supporting operation, FPSO, drilling equipment etc, each segment is impacted in different way.

Even if oil price managed to recover, it doesn't mean all segment will be flourish again. As if oil price recovers due to huge production cut, it just means less drilling activities, and those rely heavily on this segment may not able to reap the benefit of higher oil price.

Somemore, if a O&G is under high leveraged one, it may not able to survive through the difficult period as well, even if oil price may recover in a much longer term future.

So must be selective, and study properly.

Just like 2008 financial crisis, some banks stocks share price now still less than 50% of its peak, even economy recovered and stock market indices is making historical high.

FBM KLCI may test the 1,800 level this year, as foreign funds are likely to make a comeback to capitalise on the undervalued ringgit and the gradual recovery of oil prices, said AIA Pension and Asset Management Sdn Bhd (APAM) general manager Ng Chze How.
