Hello everyone, CNY is round the corner and the market is still asleep. Correction Not asleep but falling off the bed. At least my fiasco AAX investment is showing some light these few days. But it a long way to go back to the Qt1 2015 prices.

QUOTE(TC-Titan @ Jan 28 2016, 09:22 AM)
If u do that.. u would lose close to 50% of your capital.

I suggest for u to at least share with us why u chose to buy at 1.40 (which i assume the time u bought was around April or June 2015) and what's the rational for selling now at half price.

Then some of the sifu here can share their input.

My take is... u should consider whether there is further or any upside to be expected from:
a. China operations
b. Indonesia operations
c. property e-commerce (property365.my)

If u choose to sell your stake now, are you confident to do better with the proceeds in other investments?

This predicament was very similar to my AAX experience. I refused to average down after burning a few times doing it. Meanwhile as story unfolds and with time i learned more . I had to accept the weakness of this investment. The good thing i find is the management of this company is at least they are not sitting on warm chairs and lots of Hoo Har parties, ( Debatable i m sure by others) They were creative and i hold that factor as single most valued point. However their Finances were in horrible condition, loss quarter after quarter

Share with u something...

I realised that a lot of people buy a stock first then only do homework later.
And some... do partial homework before buying and only do detail homework later.
We humans tend to very impatient and have itchy fingers to press the "Buy" button before figuring what to do with the "Sell" button.
We always think... MUST grab the opportunity now~~!! YOLO~!! Lai la quick profit~!
The above applies to me as I am still human  laugh.gif

But as time passes by, we must all evolve for the better.
So... need to exercise more patience, do a tonne of homework and don't get distracted easily.
Just remember, it's not the end of the world if u miss a boat of opportunity.
There are tonnes of such boats all year round.
Just make sure u don't bet on a boat that gives u an express ticket to Holland.  wink.gif

On AAX or AA ...
Different people different assessment.
I know a lot of people who won't invest in such business as it makes no sense for them to do so. Super high capex and borrowings versus minimal margins from a budget airlines. Somemore subject to the mercy of forex, oil prices and significant repair and maintenance cost.

Others will say... its a good biz model. They like what they see and can "experience".
AA taking up major slices of the cake all around. Winning awards everywhere. Supposedly good management and PR people like Uncle Tony.
Overall sounds good, seems good but is it really that good?
Does the numbers make sense to the valuation and price of the stock?
Is the prospects of the Company really worth your investment now?
How does the Company fare versus other competitors in the same industry (e.g MAB, SIA, Cathay etc).

On a side note... alternatively, u could have invested in the warrants when it was around 4.5 to 5 cents while the mother share was at all time low.
Not sure if u can still climb in on the boat now...

The above is just my 2 cents.

icon_rolleyes.gif Thank you for sharing. Yeah i try no to put too much emotion onto this mistake but growing up from a Baby Boomer era its hard . Its good AAX remains on my portfolio because each time before i click the Buy button now, This gleaming Red flag would act as a hard reminder.

QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 7 2016, 02:31 PM)
The company share registrar will identify the dividend entitled shareholder on 8 Sep.
Hence it is called entitlement date.

Before due to the fact that whenever you hit the buy button in the market, the share is not immediately going into your CDS on that day, it will after about 2 days.

So one needs to buy the share before 6 Sep, in order the share being transferred into your CDS (where the company registrar identify the shareholders).
Hence the ex-date is set.

In nutshell,
just buy before 6 Sept (buy on 6 won't entitle) if want the dividend.
or can sell on 6 Sept, and still entitle the dividend.
Forget about the entitlement date.

I am not chasing these hot stocks but fail to understand the relationship. In a short synopsis, why is the closure of Megasteel benefiting Choobee and CSC steel?

1. Don't drag other forum topics/issues to other forums leh....

Very auntie-like stuff la

2. If you read the news and still don't  understand...sorry la...stay away.

3. Take CSCsteel. Have you look at the performance of this company itself?

What would you have noticed?

Me? I see the company earnings had turned around positively since last May 2015.
Yes. A year ago.
Check the price then and now.

What does this suggest to you?

No intention to drag other forum here , I own some Chinwel stocks bought above Rm2.00 ( Bought around Dec time). Have average down to upper 1.8 plus today. With the Raw materials of screws and stuff being metal base. I am curious will this spill over to them as cheaper raw material . If so can still average down further. Thats all.

Hi Boon , Ok found some news about CSC and his view why they are benefitting. As for my hope if my Chinwel will benefit it is not in his list of complementing companies that will benefit downstream.

Can someone recommend any FREE app or software where i can keep track of my small portfolio? Currently its pen and paper .
My main purpose is to know what is my Real average buy price price. I notice after selling or buying a particular stock, my platform CIMB CGS is not providing the accurate info on the Ave.Buy.Price and Realise Gain/loss feature from the drop down Portfolio tab.

From this report it does not look like there is a strong demand forecasted for semicon.

Basically buy the most expensive tech stocks in Malaysia and you can sleep at night. If you want NYSE-level/Nasdaq volatility, buy Gene and High

I checked back my records. Looks like I bought and sold JFTech 3 times already this year at different stages.

Sold at RM1.745, RM1.870 and RM2.010 before for a good profit.

Not good, too much trading.  sweat.gif

Suddenly, there is a lot of interest in JFTech after its latest QR was released.

Simply Wall Street says it is +313.4% overvalued.

Absolutely Stocks gave it a valuation of 1.1/3.00.

Who do we believe?

JFtech has gone up about +300% over the past one year. JFTECH's Trailing P/E of 118.8 represents a 68% Premium to its 5-year average of 70.5.

Is JFtech a good stock to hold for investment? My answer is no.

It is only good for momentum trading.

Note : On 11.2.2021, JFTECH closed at RM1.73,  28.2% below its 52-week high and 658.8% above its 52-week low.

Im starting to believe my Glove stock will be in the back burners for now and need to look for new grazing grounds.
