Ambank announce MSS exercise, should be good news to cut costs since probably overpaid executives will be separated. However, market reacted negatively.

Bought more Homeriz @ 0.615. Seems like a good company to accumulate since it's cheap now.

Hi everyone. I have a question for which answer I can't seem to find online.
If a Malaysian listed company is privatised, do I have the choice of not taking up the privatisation offer and just conitnue holding the shares of the private company? |

QUOTE(Yggdrasil @ Mar 27 2019, 10:37 AM) Major shareholder decides. When they take it private, usually the major shareholder will already have more than 75% of total shareholdings. They then propose to buy the remainder at a determined price. Small shareholders of the stock will have their shares bought over by the major shareholder and compensated. This amount will be credited to their respective bank accounts like a dividend. Thanks for the link. I got my answer already However the case can be more complex than it is. An example of a public company that went private is OLDTOWN. You can look at the comments at https://klse.i3investor.com/m/stock/overview/5201.jsp QUOTE WiseTrade Basically, there will be a few scenarios likely to happen. First, if you accept the offer then just signed the accetance letter and send it back for 3.18. Second, if you ignore the offer and held on to the oldtown shares, then there are two scenarios likely going to happen. If Jacob managed to get 90% of oldtown then you will be forced to sell your oldtown share to them at 3.18 as well. If Jacob did not managed to get 90% (75%-80%). Then Jacob can either revised their offer higher than 3.18 hoping the remaining shareholders will sell them or they can absorb enough stock from open market by either pressing the price and slowly absorb or purchasing the remaining % at higher price than 3.18 and push up the prices. |

QUOTE(moosset @ Mar 13 2020, 04:33 PM) my average buy price for IGBReit is 1.777. Still don't know if I should sell or not.... All it takes is one covid case for its price to take hard dive. I suggest sell it while it's still good price.I'm waiting for BNM to lower the OPR again, hopefully will give the price a boost. |

Recently bought into UMW. It's balance sheet seems solid and still considered cheap despite its recent rally

Any OSK investors here? Seems like a good value for money company. It has 10% stake in RHB Bank but OSK barely kept pace with RHB share price.

QUOTE(ChAOoz @ Dec 9 2020, 03:30 PM) One thing i learn from Bursa investing is that holdings don't really do anything to share price unless they sell it for investment gain and it translate into an awesome QR report. Seldom people look very deep into a company financial report and buy in anticipation of holdings value gain. Alrighty then... thanks for the insight. I will just hold some just in case OSK decide to do something about its RHB shares |
