That's cheaper & sooner than I thought! Now I have dilemma whether to just grab this C1 now or wait for the slightly larger but pricier 55" A80J hmmm 🤔

I will go LG 48" C1 coz my room setup cannot fit large TV laugh.gif

If size no issue, I prefer A80J coz Sony's picture processor is no contest the best in the business.

Are you sure you don't mean Panasonic ?

Sony is pretty typical thesedays , stagnant , arrogant and overpriced .
The HDMI 2.1 features update last year has yet to be fulfilled and looks like they plan to continue on that route for 2021's models too .

At least LG is always catching up , plenty of firmware and feature updates .

I agree with this....Panasonic is probably the best pic quality and processing - but Convael knows these OLEDs will never come to Malaysia.

Sony therefore wins the best OLED in terms of pic quality in Malaysia. To be fair....their new XR processor did receive seriously good reviews.

But if you even have plans to play games on the TV, don’t buy the Sony! LG supports all the gaming features right now! It’s not even a contest. 4k@120Hz with Dolby Vision, GSYNC, Freesync and HGIG - don’t count on Sony to support these.

And....based on all reviews I’ve heard so far - almost nobody can tel the difference between CX, C1, G1, A80J or A90J unless you calibrate all of them and put them side by side.

Having said all that....I am considering the A90J depending on what LG does with their G1. Price and availability of G1 is still unknown while Sony is already starting pre-order for the A90J

I hope that is the case and reason why I just pick a picture mode of my liking and forget about calibration. Couldn't find one here and DIY is very likely beyond my ability. And if I get too "into" these pic quality thing, I probably will be watching the same video clip over and over and over again trying to find differences. Instead watching all sort of video.

So I just pick an OLED with the best offer.

Well, I wanna wall mount mine - in the house I’ll hopefully spend the rest of my life in - so the GX or G1 is appealing to me.

I hear the 65” GX can be had below rm 12k now.

On calibration- does any actual professional calibrator exist in Malaysia? I’m guessing that if any exists, they may only do commercial projects and not home based ones. I tried to look but cannot find any info at all.

yes, there is 2% discount (RM100) which makes it RM6499.

And then shopee 10% cashback... which gives 60k coins... but u can only use 3k points for every RM100 purchase...

HZ1000 , 1500 and GZ1000 are available in Malaysia , they have the same HCX pro processor as the 2000 series .

What always bother me is their OS - MyHomeScreen which is clunky and slow to update .

Other than that , these HCX pro processors from the last two years feature the best picture quality in a commercial TV and they are often used among colorist and grading suite .

Question to those who buy LG here - do you have a favorite retailer? Is it a nationwide retailer like Senheng or Harvey Norman? Or is it more local one? I’m wondering which one is more reliable - especially when it comes to after sales service and claims for extended warranty.

Yes. I know of at least 2 calibrators in Malaysia and they do home projects.

I've had my projector calibrated before by one of them.

Nice - I can see how you definitely need a calibrator for projectors.

I’ve PMed you for details.

So how much better do you think the Panasonic's processing is?

I wanted to order but I'm holding back for the A80J 55" for now, despite the shortfall of having only two hdmi 2.1 port (Samsung only has one for their flagship QN90A kek), not having the VRR/ALLM yet and the posterizarion issue with 4K 120hz HDR (4K 120hz SDR is okay).

Might change my mind within this week but my heart is set on the A80J

More & more reviews are slowly trickling in, and most of the YouTube TV reviewers from Avsforum have nothing but praises for A80J in delivering the same picture quality as the A90J but at a lower brightness yet affordable price. I'm a casual gamer so I can wait for the VRR if it ever comes out & I consume more media because of my HTPC setup.

If ur a gamer then LG C1 is definitely a no brainer for its gaming features & calibration options. Good buy smile.gif
