Appreciate your opinions on this, since this is a LG thread. I may be changing my C8 soon because I am moving house maybe before end of year. I am a TV guy, meaning I can leave the TV on for more than 10 hours a day even if I am not watching anything.

Input mainly Netflix, Youtube, PS4 and PC (RTX3070). I used to like watching soccer live on TV, so my only complain for LG is the motion flow seems not as good as Sony. But then again my Sony is LCD so not a fair comparison.

Based on my input above, do you think I should still get a OLED? Seems like all my inputs to TV doesn't justify a OLED and the long hours mean LCD better? I am used to webos already and find it quite good compared to Android. So do you think I should go for Sony X9000h (or if you know of anything better?) or LG CX? Or even other brands like Panasonic where I read pic best in some reviews? I normally buy TV one cycle slow, meaning the last model after new models come out. Which I think should be around June to Aug this year.

So appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks. Oh I might be getting 65 inch this time for my TV room or master bedroom.

Wahh... really?? My house 9year old Sharp Aquos TV kena thunder... sending for repair now.... not sure can get repair or not  

Now thinking whether want go for 65" CX, cheapest I can get is RM 10999. Also considering Sony X90h..... in dilemma now.... The price almost by 1/2.  

I think the 48" cant be more or equally expensive as 55". Malaysian market is mostly about size/price. Unless they bring in 48" just to satisfy gamers. With the lack of rtx3080, forget about 4k gaming.

My CX55 just arrived yesterday, today i check the total power on time already have 1005 hours, is it normal for a “new” tv?

Sony is pretty typical thesedays , stagnant , arrogant and overpriced .
The HDMI 2.1 features update last year has yet to be fulfilled and looks like they plan to continue on that route for 2021's models too .
At least LG is always catching up , plenty of firmware and feature updates .

Seems like the latest 3.23.35 firmware for LG CX fix the nightmare of eArc/Arc HDMI CEC issue.

Still waiting Malaysia to push OTA.

Depends on how often you are going to calibrate your display .

Display pro is sufficient if you are only planning to calibrate OLED displays and typical monitors , if you also plan to tinker around with modern LCD they have display pro plus which can measure up to 2000 nits + .

You can use Lightspace DPS or HCFR which is open source and free .

It is the best option at this price range until you are going into the professional field like spectromaster or Klein K10 which often cost way more than a flagship TV .

The i1D Pro+ is better and would be preferred (IMO) for those trying to DIY calibrate. The standard Pro version is still good enough of course if you want to save some money.

Also, if you're planning to calibrate yourself you need to decide if you want to:

1) Use Autocal, which requires a purchase from Calman

or

2) Manually calibrate, which means you may want to buy your own pattern generator (you can use the internal pattern generator from the TV too), meters, CalMan suite for LG workflow.
Personally I don't think it's a waste of money, because I recoup the cost by doing calibration for other clients too. But if you're just doing it alone as a one-and-done thing, it's not cheap. Hiring people to do calibration btw is not cheap either during these COVID times. And no I'm not doing any calibration jobs either these days.

What's ur setup ?

Mine is Xbox SX connect to TV HDMI4 (audio setting there passthrough is ticked)

TV HDMI ARC/eARC to Samsung Q950T (soundbar will show eArc)

Under LG TV sound setting, these are the scenario:

1) using HDMI ARC , eArc on and using Auto  = i can get Dolby Atmos for Home theater, however this might result some delay sync in some games.
2) using HDMI ARC , eArc on and using Passthrough = i can only pick uncompressed 5.1/7.1 and unable to choose bitstream out under xbox series x.

what AV u using? mine is LG c9, if use Auto will have lag, if passthrough no lag. denon x1600h here.

Under your CX, you mentioned your audio there setup using eArc + passthrough and still able to pick Dolby Atmos for Home Theater.
Which i am unable to pick for my Samsung Q950T unless i choose Auto instead of passthrough, hmm ..

Hi Guys, I just got a 65 inch CX from Desa home.

RM9k + Air purifier RRP RM3300 ( which my relative is going to buy from me @ RM2500)

Is it a good deal or should i have waited until i move to my new home i.e Jan / February 2021 to get a new TV ?

And will it be compatible with Samsung q600a soundbar ?

I'm gaming with PS5. hopefully there's no audio lag for that

Anyone having issues playing Astro 4K movies? I get an error that says that TV does not support HDCP 2.
