Hi, I just took delivery of a supposedly "new" LG 65C9.

But when I check the power on time, I saw this:

With so many hours on it, now way this can be a new set right?

Don't think there are any calibrator here for hire.
*
Actually there are a handful of calibrators in Malaysia.

I've used the services of one from Penang, but I also understand there is one in KL area.

I believe they gave you one of the unsold display set from one of their dealer. If they told you this is new, then this is unacceptable.

Some dealer have a main power switch to off everything at the end of the day. So this set might never have a chance to do auto refresh properly.
*
Thanks for your input. I'm following up with the dealer on this matter.

No way it's new.
Just go ahead and check with some patterns - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1m4I...fdFuf8_5nLcRwHA

A new set should have no more than 1 hour usage, because LG do have each panel turned on for a few minutes during the assembly at the factory to do basic level calibration, tests and checks prior to being assembled with the frame.
*
Thanks for the link to the test patterns. Very useful.

Yes, it's not a new set. The salesperson did get back to me on it and apologized and offered some further rebates for consideration.

Since they have offered to rectify the situation it's case closed for the moment. But let's just say it is a major retail chain in Malaysia.

Sorry to hear that, hope your seller can exchange a CX for you considering C9 is out of stock now.

The total hours was the first thing i check when my GX was delivered, mine was brand new from box  biggrin.gif
*
So for brand new TV, did it show 0 hours?

I never knew there was this feature and your post made me go check my also supposedly "new" on purchase C9. My 98 days owned TV clocks in at 2367 hours! That's more hours than I've owned the TV!

I am beyond livid at this point, even moreso at being ripped off by my family's regular go-to guy for all our home electronics. This is our 7th TV purchased from him through the years.

Unfortunately I've only discovered this three months after owning the TV. Not sure if there's any means of recourse now. I will be contacting the seller first thing tomorrow nonetheless to give him a piece of my mind. If anyone has any advice I'm all ears.
*
Glad you managed to get something from my post and able to detect this issue with your TV. Hope you managed to get a satisfactory resolution to your "new" TV.

Is there a way to set default input on a 65C9?

For example I want it to default to HDMI 4 input every time I turn on the TV.

Actually this is a replacement cable FOC from Ruipro. I got their first gen cable that wasn't able to passthrough 4k120 properly with the Ampere GPUs, that was an issue with the HDMI chipset that Nvidia used. So instead of waiting for a fix from Nvidia and LG (which hasn't happen until today evidently), Ruipro went and tweaked the HDMi controller in their cable instead and send them all out as replacements to those that had already bought their cables. This is world class customer service.
*
Wow, that is indeed great customer service.

On calibration- does any actual professional calibrator exist in Malaysia? I’m guessing that if any exists, they may only do commercial projects and not home based ones. I tried to look but cannot find any info at all.
*
Yes. I know of at least 2 calibrators in Malaysia and they do home projects.

I've had my projector calibrated before by one of them.

10% coins are capped now though sad.gif

This depends on the voucher. Most of the 10% vouchers are capped at 5,000 coins but I think Shopee will give one which has no cap.

(but again you can only spend max 3000 coins on each purchase, and minimum RM100+ per purchase)
(so to fully utilize the 60k coins, u need to buy 20 times different products that worth RM100+ per order, so totally u need to spend another RM2000 to fully utilize the coins)
*
Yeah, spending such a large number of coins is quite leceh.

For shopee 10% coins cashback offer must use Shopee Pay.
But Shopee Pay don’t allow top up of more than RM 4,999.
The OLED TV all selling above RM 5000+. That means this is like a scam, you won’t be able to use the 10% cashback promo to purchase any oled tv in Shopee
*
It's not a scam. It just means you can get 10% cashback up to the limit of RM4,999 only.

Shame that they no longer give the 10% uncapped voucher that don't require ShopeePay, I still remember seeing it 2 months ago.
*
Yeah, I used to see those vouchers as well. Shopee has been getting stingier with their vouchers. Nowadays also give fewer free shipping vouchers.
