LG still hasn't announce the arrival date of it's 2020 TV yet right?
I'm hyped for it and plan to grab the 48" LG CX for my room as TV/PC monitor usage. The listing on LG's Malaysia website are still showing the 2019 models, while on LG Singapore they've already updated it with the 2020 models. This post has been edited by latios507: Apr 14 2020, 06:32 PM |

Seems like the product page for the latest CX models are up. However, I don't see the 48" CX variant in the page, does that mean Malaysia won't have the 48" variant? Was planning to get the 48" as my TV/PC monitor, 55" is too huge. Surprisingly there's a 48" LG CX on SG's website; https://www.lg.com/sg/oled-tvs Come on LG, I hope it's just an oversight and they will have 48" variant available |

QUOTE(Currylaksa @ Oct 21 2020, 11:55 AM) Is it really coming? I've heard a few months ago that they won't be bringing in the 48" variant to Malaysia.A pretty dick move tbh I don't mind ordering from overseas but gotta deal with customs, gotta buy Step-up transformer (to convert 120V -> 240V) and not sure if Sirim certification is needed. Not an expert in this stuff unless shifus out there can shed some light on this matter. Anyway, 2021 is just a few months away so might as well just wait and see what would happen to the TV Lineup next year |

QUOTE(Convael @ Mar 12 2021, 01:11 PM) I am aware that this is an LG OLED Thread but these information of Sony A90J will serve as a reference of how the upcoming G1 will perform . I wonder how much difference is the brightness of A80J vs A90J. I hope there isn't much difference, still waiting for Vincent Teoh to do his experiment A quick reminder , Sony doesn't drive their OLED as hard (bright) as other brands . We have some information on A90J thanks to AV/s and DeWayne Davis . - Confirmed to be TV-LED via Dolby Vision. - New setting in HDR mode , with brightness or gradient preferred options . - OOTB custom brightness on A90J is around 800 nits on 2 , 5 , 10% , 175 nits for 100% . - 2 x HDMI 2.1 , like last year Dolby Vision 120 hz is still not supported , not too big of a deal atm . - Both HDMI 2.1 ports will have a peak transfer bitrate of up to 48 gbps . Several electronic shops I know from the AV field in China have also gotten the TV but they don't calibrate it . Mostly some side by side comparison screen shot . I would suggest not to take them seriously as still shots can't really do a TV PQ Justice . Wanted a 55" variant for my room but it doesn't seem like Sony MY is bringing in the 55" A90J based on their website, so I have no choice but to settle for either A80J or LG C1 :\ This post has been edited by latios507: Mar 12 2021, 01:44 PM |

QUOTE(calkh @ May 11 2021, 03:36 PM) It seems that all QN90A in Malaysia is going to be IPS/ADS panel - so contrast ratio and dark room performance is going to be poor. For anything <50”, Samsung is using IPS panel worldwide, so even US don’t get preferential treatment. It may still be a fine monitor, but it’s a different class already to the C1 Yup. I personally contacted Samsung MY support and it took them a day to confirm that 55" & above QA90N in MY are using VA panel, so you need to get the 55" if you want the VA panel. They even gave me a free hefty discount voucher for me to purchase the TV, but I'm waiting for Sony A80J to arrive and see how it goes QUOTE(Convael @ May 11 2021, 05:55 PM) There are plenty of 50" on shopee. QUOTE(Convael @ May 11 2021, 05:59 PM) I'm just stating what I was told. If you don't believe it, feel free to But at this point, it's better to wait for A80J or the LG C1 if someone is looking for < 55" form factor This post has been edited by latios507: May 11 2021, 06:04 PM |

QUOTE(Convael @ May 11 2021, 06:11 PM) Refer to the catalog of their website . Cool info. So , are you saying they have uploaded the wrong catalog ? They have never gotten any 50 " of QN90A approved here , so selling it would be illegal . » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « As for those 3rd party units , I have no idea where those are coming from . And they cost roughly the same as 55QN90A , either they made a mistake or those are import units . Good luck having fun trying to claim warranty from imported TVs. This is an LG thread , this will be my last time clarifying anything regarding the rival brands here . I'm just mentioning 50" is readily available on shopee. You yourself said Samsung MY doesn't know about TV so let's give them a benefit of doubt Ultimately, the onus is on the buyer QUOTE(Nojo @ May 11 2021, 06:33 PM) [ETA 24-26 May] LG 48 Inch C1 That's cheaper & sooner than I thought! Now I have dilemma whether to just grab this C1 now or wait for the slightly larger but pricier 55" A80J hmmm 🤔RM6.5k - RM100 shop voucher = RM6.4k - RM640 10% coin cashback = RM5760 https://shopee.com.my/-ETA-24-26-May-LG-48-...0342.4988552918 This post has been edited by latios507: May 11 2021, 07:05 PM |

QUOTE(Convael @ May 11 2021, 07:07 PM) Funny story , I just msg gamer's hideout on shopee regarding the 50 " , it stated " 7 units " left . Gamer's hideout selling LCD TV, summore a high end Samsung Model. This is new to me The owner told me all Units have sold out instantly [ yea right because a lot of ppl want to buy 50" LCD at RM8000 when the 48" OLED is priced at RM6000 ] . Afterthat they went on to change the page to " SOLD OUT " and blocked my chat , now that is totally not fishy . |

QUOTE(881118 @ May 16 2021, 08:13 PM) I wanted to order but I'm holding back for the A80J 55" for now, despite the shortfall of having only two hdmi 2.1 port (Samsung only has one for their flagship QN90A kek), not having the VRR/ALLM yet and the posterizarion issue with 4K 120hz HDR (4K 120hz SDR is okay). Might change my mind within this week but my heart is set on the A80J More & more reviews are slowly trickling in, and most of the YouTube TV reviewers from Avsforum have nothing but praises for A80J in delivering the same picture quality as the A90J but at a lower brightness yet affordable price. I'm a casual gamer so I can wait for the VRR if it ever comes out & I consume more media because of my HTPC setup. If ur a gamer then LG C1 is definitely a no brainer for its gaming features & calibration options. Good buy |

QUOTE(Convael @ May 17 2021, 09:30 AM) 48 " is indeed a little too small for TV . Only people who really need to fit a certain space will find any usage for it . Haven't pulled the trigger yet but closed to pulling one. This will be my first OLED since I skipped last year. A80J is already available on Shopee earlier today. Very Interesting, I'd love to hear more about this trick if u don't mind And majority of the monitor crowd is well aware of the Burn-In issues despite being overblown . The thing is , 55 " CX from last year can be gotten at around the same price , so there is little incentive actually get something less for the same price . Ahead of all commercial TV brands on the market , that is for sure . They strike the best balance among the big4 . There are more information I can share with you but it will turn out to be a 100 pages + reply and this is not a Panasonic thread. For example , among wRGB OLED on the market , there is some kind of color processing errors [?] in the undertone of cyan , or very pale blue if you like. Hence , these LG made-wRGB TV has a strange push towards Cyan when displaying White , despite being already calibrated to D65 white point . We have noticed this a couple of years ago , when being compared to QLED back in the days . Since OLED was , by nature , more accurate than any LCD , we put the blame on Samsung for making oversaturated TV (which is true but not in this case) . In the last 2 years , I noticed the Panasonic HCX pro is so precise to the point it has eliminated the problem entirely . And yes , without the needs of calibration . Perhaps it is not mentioned by many reviews , outlets like HDTV would just calibrate it away by dialing down the blue because they have a lot of reference material to look at . Not a super dealbreaker but something to be noted for people who are claiming Sony has the best visual processing in the world . Avsforum has a large crowd of Sony fanboi because they don't get Panasonic so they can only compare it against LG's . And I can definitely tell you are a new Sony OLED owner since you are completely unaware of the tricks they pull during their new product's year. All I can tell you is , keep an open mind . Because I'm on the fence yet slightly bias towards getting the Sony right now especially after I saw HDTV's A90J review. I'm very impressed with the LG too but I'm a bit lazy to calibrate just to make it accurate (A80J slightly accurate out of the box) since it'll be my first time. QUOTE(netherlord @ May 17 2021, 07:45 PM) LG CX 55" selling for RM6900 (He says got T&G RM300 available), Is it a good buy or you guys would advise to wait for C1? - I'm coming from an old FULLHD 40" and wanting a Gaming/PC TV for some time. LG C1 48" is available for pre order for RM6.5k on shopee. You can get 10% coins cashback (capped at 5000 coins) + 1k coins from the seller, all for a total of RM600 which is a lotMe? I'd get the C1 because I heard they solved a lot of issue that plagued the Cx especially the gaming functions This post has been edited by latios507: May 17 2021, 08:04 PM Currylaksa liked this post

QUOTE(881118 @ May 18 2021, 03:42 PM) 6000 coins are only worth RM60 bruh Oh woops, rip my math (if u pre-ordered earlier like me, u can get the 10% coins cashback from Shopee with no cap, then really get 60,000 points which are really worth RM600+) (but again you can only spend max 3000 coins on each purchase, and minimum RM100+ per purchase) (so to fully utilize the 60k coins, u need to buy 20 times different products that worth RM100+ per order, so totally u need to spend another RM2000 to fully utilize the coins) Each 100 coins = RM1 10% coins are capped now though |

Supposed to get my A80J today but seller sent me the wrong model (X80J), so I have to wait till tmrw for them to send the correct model. If Sony is already selling their 2021 OLED, it's only a matter of time before LG to starts selling their's maeve and Currylaksa liked this post

QUOTE(touristking @ May 21 2021, 10:43 AM) I always have the impression Sony have better motion than the LG. But this fellow is saying the opposite. Did he deliberately play with the setting to make the Sony look bad? I wouldn't trust QTV reviews, just take it with a grain of salt. He always kept saying that last year TV models are better than the new models for god knows how many years haha. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD4ibdMFcFY From what I gathered, Sony is still superior than LG but LG motion has improved from last year's model to a point where it's hard to distinguish between LG and Sony unless you put it side by side. I never heard of anyone saying LG motion is better than Sony except from this QTV fella lol. Funny coz all of the other experienced TV reviewers & some of em who are used to calibration including Vincent Teoh from HDTV praised Sony's motion except for this QTV fella Motion is very subjective & varies from person to person when it comes to the preferred settings You can't go wrong with either one; both are great TV with their own pros and cons (e.g. Gaming feature & connectivity - LG wins hands down. Sony are handicapped by the lack of VRR/ALLM support (still waiting for FW update) and waiting for 4K 120hz HDR banding fix but is superior to LG in every other aspects). Don't just watch 1 video comparison & believe everything This post has been edited by latios507: May 21 2021, 01:04 PM |
