Doesn't look like we will be getting G1 in MY anytime soon , if at all .
C1 - 48 " , 55 " , 65 " , 77 "

A1 - 55 " , 65 "

B1 - 55 " , 65 "

NANO75  - 43 " , 50 " , 55 " , 65 " , 75 " , 86"

NANO80 - 55" ,  65"

NANO86 - 55 " , 65 " , 75 "
Catalogs should be up after Raya .

Damn.....after saving up for so long....and I cannot get the G1 - I guess LG can't find enough of a market here to bring it in....

If you are still craving for that " EVO " OLED panel , we have 65 " A90J this year .
But looking at the recent reviews , can't exactly recommend it over the " regular " models  .
*
The A90J is a bit too rich even for my budget. The US price is $1000 difference - which is damn scary. I’m waiting for final confirmation that LG is not bringing in the G1....

If LG does that....then I’m switching focus to Samsung QN90A - I know....not true black, no Dolby Vision, blooming etc....but it’s bright room performance will probably compensate very well.

By the way, you seems like the expert seller here - please PM me your store if you don’t mind.

If you are planning on buying QN90A , do note that our QN90A is not the same model as reviewed by Rtings .
Our QN90A is of IPS panel , which means it is more in line with the QN85A 's performance in the US .
As for the G1 series , I don't have any news on that atm . All I can tell you now is they are not coming anytime soon .
Perhaps they are struggling to produce enough " EVO - PANEL " for the MY market .
*
Wow.....many thanks for the info - that saved me a big bunch of disappointment. You’re right though, we traditionally followed UK market - which is why I follow HDTVTest on YouTube.

But that could mean that both the top range TV model from LG and Samsung isn’t going to launch in Malaysia this year....pretty damn sad.

Kinda sucks that the best is probably the C1

Interestingly, the LG G1 is listed on the Malaysia page....I know...it means very little and could be a mistake. But at least this is a glimmer of hope that it’ll come to MY eventually.

LG G1 MY

This is all of the OLED models they have submitted for approval .

The G series are not in the list .
Few weeks ago I was told there may not be allocation for G series in MY .
There are still times before the official launch , maybe they will surprise us .
*
Is that the SIRIM product database? Man - I don't even know how to get there.....funny that Malaysia gov make it so hard to search....

Anyway - LG's website is now listing 55" & 75" C1 and 65" G1. Now....based on the HomeDec poster, we know they're bringing in 48" - so the website is probably just out of sync. Still crossing my damn fingers though...

Looks like your prayer has been answered .

They seem to have proscured a limited quantity of G1 from SG - LG .

Just got an update yesterday and it has been approved .
*
Awesome - only question is where to buy.

However....various videos out lately about C1 potentially having the Evo panel (lottery of course), and the fact that C1 performs just as well as G1 most of the time - seems to mean that C1 isn’t a bad deal at all

Haih....for anyone looking at 2021 OLEDs this year, I’m afraid the price is just gonna be scary for a while. The ongoing semicon shortage is a real issue. Samsung is even rumored to buy 1 million OLED panels from LG this year, and LG only makes about 8M a year....

Not saying price isn’t gonna drop, but it’ll be super late this year or early next - that is depending on allocation for Malaysia...

I think is not yet lo.. unless got deal with tv with android like sony panasonic lol

Gaahh...this is infuriating. LG WebOS actually has Disney+ by itself - but the "+Hostar" app is probably not available.

This sort of stupid stuff makes me wanna just go buy Sony

Just buy ATV box ie Mecool KM2 for under $280 to pair with your tv...
*
Haha....thanks for the advise.... I also found that the latest Chromecast with Google TV is really good - basically the same OS running on Sony TV, so that’s a good choice.

Alternative is the Samsung 50" QN90A which is directly positioned against the C1 48"
*
It seems that all QN90A in Malaysia is going to be IPS/ADS panel - so contrast ratio and dark room performance is going to be poor. For anything <50”, Samsung is using IPS panel worldwide, so even US don’t get preferential treatment. It may still be a fine monitor, but it’s a different class already to the C1

Are you sure you don't mean Panasonic ?

Sony is pretty typical thesedays , stagnant , arrogant and overpriced .
The HDMI 2.1 features update last year has yet to be fulfilled and looks like they plan to continue on that route for 2021's models too .
At least LG is always catching up , plenty of firmware and feature updates .
*
I agree with this....Panasonic is probably the best pic quality and processing - but Convael knows these OLEDs will never come to Malaysia.

Sony therefore wins the best OLED in terms of pic quality in Malaysia. To be fair....their new XR processor did receive seriously good reviews.

But if you even have plans to play games on the TV, don’t buy the Sony! LG supports all the gaming features right now! It’s not even a contest. 4k@120Hz with Dolby Vision, GSYNC, Freesync and HGIG - don’t count on Sony to support these.

And....based on all reviews I’ve heard so far - almost nobody can tel the difference between CX, C1, G1, A80J or A90J unless you calibrate all of them and put them side by side.

Having said all that....I am considering the A90J depending on what LG does with their G1. Price and availability of G1 is still unknown while Sony is already starting pre-order for the A90J

I hope that is the case and reason why I just pick a picture mode of my liking and forget about calibration. Couldn't find one here and DIY is very likely beyond my ability. And if I get too "into" these pic quality thing, I probably will be watching the same video clip over and over and over again trying to find differences. Instead watching all sort of video.

So I just pick an OLED with the best offer.

Well, I wanna wall mount mine - in the house I’ll hopefully spend the rest of my life in - so the GX or G1 is appealing to me.

I hear the 65” GX can be had below rm 12k now.

On calibration- does any actual professional calibrator exist in Malaysia? I’m guessing that if any exists, they may only do commercial projects and not home based ones. I tried to look but cannot find any info at all.

Question to those who buy LG here - do you have a favorite retailer? Is it a nationwide retailer like Senheng or Harvey Norman? Or is it more local one? I’m wondering which one is more reliable - especially when it comes to after sales service and claims for extended warranty.

Yes. I know of at least 2 calibrators in Malaysia and they do home projects.

I've had my projector calibrated before by one of them.
*
Nice - I can see how you definitely need a calibrator for projectors.

I’ve PMed you for details.

Some crazy mofos managed to change their C1 to G1 mode using the service menu laugh.gif increasing peak brightness by up to 12%

(don't try this yourself)

I haven't watched this video yet - but I did see the FOMO one - and man - that guy is going deep into click-bait territory. I don't know what's so surprising about this at all - and yet he makes it feel like some world changing news.

Just ask anyone on CPU forums about overclocking, or GPU forums about flashing BIOS to upgrade AMD Radeons, hell BMW uses the same engine but on models with supposedly different "cc" - all are controlled by software. This is just how the world works.....

As usual, once you buy it - you're free to mess with it if you want. If you break it though, then it's your responsibility.

HI Bro. That's a nice set up. Can I know the name of the monitor arm that youre using right now?

Currently using an Asus rog monitor 27 inch and very keen to adopt your current set up once the lg c1 arrives
*
Besides looking at the weight capacity of the monitor arm - make sure your table itself can support the weight. I mounted my 27" Acer 4K Freesync monitor on my table and the weight of the monitor actually broke the table! One fine morning - I actually found my monitor leaning down on my table at 45 degrees angle. Luckily the whole thing didn't collapse and cause me to lose my monitor....

My current setup uses a 1" thick MDF table- seems to be holding it fine. Solid wood is preferable - but those are out of budget for me. My OLD broken table appears at the outside to be 1.5" thick - but is f*cking hollow inside...most IKEA tables are like that too...

The arm is a North bayou f160. Can get from lazada. Its a double arm that I removed one of them. You can get the single arm variant and it will work just fine.

Here is a photo of the setup when Ips monitor is moved out of the way. Doesn't block the oled at all. 👌Enjoy!
