Poor. BA Club World = Premium Economy IMHO.
*
I believe you are confusing BA Club World with BA Club Europe is it ? BA Club World is the true first fully flat Business Class seat in the world and only available on board its 744, 772, 77W, 788, 789 and 388. No airline in the world is offering a seat that can convert to a fully flat bed in Premium Economy Class, as far as I'm concern (unless you are talking about Thai Airways service to the Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo using the B777-300ER but that's a special case - as in the Business Class demand to these cities are low, so they sell some Business Class seats as Premium Economy).

QUOTE(herc @ Mar 27 2016, 02:35 PM)
LHR-Milan under BA Club Europe, it's 3 seating but middle seat was blocked by a tray. Google it and u know what it is, happen on me during LHR-LIS, feel like conned, big downside.
*
It is the standard European Business Class. Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, Iberia and many more European carriers all offer the same Business Class layout for flights within Europe. Aeroflot is the only one offering a true regional Business Class seat in Europe (similar to Asian intra Asia Business Class and US domestic First Class).

QUOTE(tishaban @ Mar 27 2016, 05:39 PM)
I like QR service too in general, but their A320/330 J seats are way behind their 787 J seats in terms of comfort.
*
QR is in the process to refit its 330 J seats to the new B/E Aerospace Diamond seat that goes fully flat (but still no aisle access for everyone). And about 12 of their 320 also have the B/E Aerospace Diamond seat installed already, deployed mainly to Eastern European cities.

Nope. I was referring to BA Club World long-haul and not the con-job Club Europe herc was referring to (which I've experienced and totally agree in that it's a rip-off). I really mean that BA's business class product is like premium economy on other airlines. I hated it that much (CW being the first truly flat J class seat notwithstanding). Hope that's clear and no one's "confused". biggrin.gif

There are a bunch of Oneworld airlines in Europe eg. Iberia, Finnair and Air Berlin. It's possible to do KUL-DOH-x-MXP and continue with one of those airlines although it may bump up the total airmiles flown. Also be creative in your routing to and fro, you might not be able to find KUL-DOH-MXP but MXP-DOH-KUL may be wide open.

Also I used to find availability on the DOH-xxx but KUL-DOH was frequently full, so KUL-BKK-DOH and KUL-SIN-DOH are options too.

I like QR service too in general, but their A320/330 J seats are way behind their 787 J seats in terms of comfort.

tips taken.
I don't have that much milages to do multi-carrier.
Anyway yeah, QR still have some seats on BKK-DOH-Milan for the date I wanted.

thanks

i notice that AM redemption uses less miles than EM. Is it better for me to move to AM or continue using EM. I know EM is more generous in seat availability and occasionally having some promo.

If your source of miles are credit card points, then leave it there unless you have a specific redemption in mind. So if you have 200k worth of Asia Miles in your Maybank TP, and only need 140k Asia Miles for a redemption, only transfer that much. Keeping it in original form allows you more flexibility especialy during promos

A bunch of points bloggers may keep repeating that but that's still patently untrue.
PE is like a toy compared to actual business class- you don't get any sleep in cradle recliners.

Now of course, if there's award availability in CX, QR or MH's 380... I wouldn't choose BA. smile.gif

I'm not basing my comments on what others write. I'm basing it on my experience travelling BA's Club World on both 777-200 and A380 in Nov/Dec last year. Both experiences sucked, flatbed notwithstanding. Food was bleh, service and IFE was poor but the worst part is the seat layout. Then again, YMMV.

Sad news today, there goes EK F awards. Alaska is drastically increasing the rates for EK.

Haha, oh well. There's still JAL Mileage Bank if you have options for that (basically SPG points) at roughly 20% fewer miles.

'Emirates Skywards members and Malaysia Airline’s Enrich members, the airlines’ frequent flyer programmes, will be able to accrue and redeem miles on all international and domestic flights operated by both airlines.'

Quoted from MH & Emirates website. Does this mean we are able to redeem Emirates flights using Enrich miles now??

Finally SPG & Marriott tied the knot, and there's nothing we can do about it...

On the other hand, i welcome the Emirates partnership with Enrich! At least i have an easier dumping place for my remaining SPG points if things get devalued as soon as they can.

It says they don't anticipate changes to the SPG program till 2018. Meanwhile , enjoy till it lasts I guess, at least that's what I will do smile.gif

Yeah gotta enjoy them while still in their old SPG form if i happen to walk past a spg hotel biggrin.gif
Too bad my travels since the beginning of 2016 only confines within Miri, so i'm having 'fun' sampling all the various newly opened inns & independent hotels. Well, there is more to life than to get tied by a certain loyalty programs...sometimes you can get more but cheaper cool2.gif

In other news, the new Accor announcement makes us from the lower currency country cringed to qualify for elite status vmad.gif fuck, even getting silver can be a stretch because of the shitty MYR (not sure if they will retain the night requirement). but then again the game of the masses is always to vote by the wallet.

I went to MAS office to ask for partner redemption. First time anyway.
I gave them some dates and preferred airlines. So I was given a slip at the end showing a list of flights I have seats reserved on or a combination of it + waitlist (on EK). I'm flying to Milan

Anyway, for CX I have reserved seats for these legs.
KUL-HKG 22AUG
SIN-HKG 22AUG
HKG-MXP 23 AUG

They said whilst my seats are reserved, I have the option to make tax payment and issue the ticket till 8 Aug.

Is that so? CX won't cancel my seats any time from now if they choose to sell away the seats? bangwall.gif icon_question.gif

p/s: I'm afraid something might happen along the way that's why i didn't pay for tax and get my ticket issued. But if there is a chance CX can deny my seats, I will just get it done once and for all.
