He mentioned he is M2C Gold user, could you shed some light on how he could score 200k miles with 1M TPs? I thought one can only redeem 1k miles with every 10,600 TPs?

Be careful with this advice, check first if there's availability on the flights you want before redeeming it to Enrich. You don't want to be left hanging with 94k enrich miles after the devaluation....
But we can't really give advice without knowing where you want to go, what class of travel and your dates...

better enrich for availability as using KF or AM will be waitlisted

Depends again where he wants to go and on what dates. I've just booked a Oneworld Multipartner redemption on Asiamiles with 2 legs in first class (both on CX) and 5 legs in business class (BA, KA, CX and JL) and there was plenty of availability for the destinations the dates I needed.

I will say this though, booking through Asiamiles takes a lot more time. I spent 3 hours altogether on the phone to do the redemption....

Well done on the multi-carrier redemption. 3 hours on the phone in total sounds about right. Each call will last around 45mins to an hour. Haven't done a multi-carrier redemption for some time though but I think it still takes some time and patience.

Why does it need to take such a long time on the phone to make redemptions?...

u will spend most of the time waiting the CSO to search on seat availability, somehow some leg turns unavailable, u may need to start from beginning again

It all depends.

Where is your intended destination, class of travel, travel dates?

Just as a reference, LHR, Business class, anywhere at the end of the year.

I would have said Enrich but I have no idea the miles required after 10 June devaluation kicks in.

KF saver award availability is challenging, especially for LHR. Ditto for AM unless you redeem close to a year out.

You can play around with dates to get an idea of availability and miles required.

personal experience one sector also need 15-30 minutes, imagine if you go through few sectors and then last one cannot solve, go through the whole thing again if you need to change to make the schedule work biggrin.gif

As a reference from example provided by Enrich, before 10 June is 150k EM + few k tax, after 10june is 200k +/- with no fuel surcharge

Or if you have the miles now, you can redeem now using EM on QR/BA/CX/EK/EY etc at 132k roundtrip.

If you do not have enough miles now You can also deposit your miles to AM later and redeem any one world airlines for about 120k AM roundtrip...

Hi sifus, my 500K AM finally came in thumbup.gif
I went to their website and it appears that I cannot choose NY or LA from KL? It is only available from HK. Does this mean that I have to book a separate ticket KL-HK? Or would it be easier to call them to make the bookings? I suppose there will be no difference in the number of points needed? Thanks in advance for your advise!

I had no problems with both KUL-HKG-JFK and KUL-HKG-LAX using this link.

Hi psiloveu, I pay a whole lot of insurance annually but it stinks getting just 1x points from M2C Premier (VI).
I have HSBC VS too but how does the point reward system works for insurance? It is not clear on their website.
Thanks

for HSBC VS,

10X reward points on overseas hotel room and dining spend (capped RM2000 per month)
8X reward points at MV and The Gardens Mall (capped RM1500)
5X reward points for airlines, local dining and hotels and 30 plus mall (capped RM1500 together with 8X reward)
1x for other retails

the airmiles exchange is 3000 points for 1000 airmiles (enrich, asia miles and ktisflyer).

Let's say u spend

RM2000 for your oversea hotel stay, u will get 2000*10 = 20,000 reward points, u can convert to about 6000++ miles

For insurance, you pay RM3000 premium, u can convert it to 1000 miles.

Alliance only for Enrich miles.
