Why say bye bye? They say to be replaced with even better rewards right? Or is it talk only? tongue.gif

Replaced by the current ongoing 'promation'....which means only unpopular routes with low traffic.... popular destinations and peak periods will never get promotions....

SQ is one stop to KUL, but QF will be 2 stops and probably jetstar on sin-kul....

I find little difference in their services...in fact, if you get one of qf's refurbished 330s, the ife is pretty good...better than sq...

As to collecting miles, use the programme you more likely use in future....

Finally, consider ek with a transfer at Mel....

Thanks for your advice !

Yup, 2 stops for QF
CHC -- SYD -- SIN -- KUL

There have option for MAS from SIN to KUL

For QF from SYN - SIN, there is for aircraft A330-300, is it what you mentioned ??
*
Qf uses exclusively 330s to sin...they are old aircrafts but are been progressively refurbished...and the new seats and ife are pretty good... it'll be your luck, if you get the refurbished aircrafts during your flight...

normally if the connection is less than 24 hrs, it is considered a transit....but the problem is, you are using one airline to book with another airline, and the rules may vary between airlines....

i notice mh normally only show connections within 12 hrs when you attempt to book on their website....whereas others like sq will also show connections up to 24 hrs...so it may be a mh thing...

Hi guys, if i'm travelling by turkish airlines to europe, would I be able to earn krisflyer points? or MH miles or asia miles? I saw their partners are SIA..but if I fly with turkish airlines, how do I earn krisflyer points yeah? How does this partner airlines thing work? Thanks!
*
Just show then your krisflyer card when you check in...

Mh code share with tk....so you should be able to collect enrich miles to/for ist if it's ticketed under mh....but not other non code share sectors...

I would just use krisflyer....

I'll be flying from kl to frankfurt then to Istanbul then back to KL. You would recommend to use Krisflyer card for all 3 flights (if that is possible)? Or Krisflyer for KL to frankfurt then to Istanbul and then enrich for Istanbul to KL? Thank you limeuu!
*
Are you flying straight to fra with another airline, or tk with transit at ist?

What's the flight code for ist-kul? If tk, use krisflyer....

All is by tk, from KL to Frank then Frank to Ist, then Ist to KL. So krisflyer the best compared to enrich/asiamiles? Also, if i book directly at turkish airlines, I can still show my krisflyer membership and get krisflyer miles? How do I check how much miles I will be getting from this trip? Whats flight code? Sorry im a newbie  blush.gif
*
Tk does not fly direct KUL FRA....so if it is operated by tk, there must be a transfer at ist...

If you book yourself, they will always ask you to enter the ff no you want to claim from...otherwise just show the card at check in...

No of miles depends on class of booking and actually miles traveled....

Since it is tk ticketed, you cannot claim enrich....

In the end travelling with Etihad instead..for all the routes..tongue.gif can get Krisflyer or enrich miles yeah? Online during booking can only see krisflyer option to input but in their website, partner airline is Malaysia airlines and no SIA? Weird...also, is it a wise choice to get etihad membership points instead for miles collection? I don't really use their airline just maybe this round only..

you can collect miles under enrich...but not under sq, in this case...if you are only flying once with them don't bother enrolling in their ffp...

i agree with jack that actually miles redemption is a relevant topic for this thread....specific to the fact that the premier cards is for points conversion, and we do have 3 choices of ffp to convert to...choosing which to redeem is important...

i hesitate to convert my points into kf because of the difficulty in getting seats for redemption into australia....

discussion of converting to miles are relevant in this thread..
However, what to redeem with miles(e.g. flight route, flight class) and how to get best of the miles should be in frequent flyer thread..

agree?
*
well....like i said, the problems associated with redemption of miles into flights is relevant, as that will have a big influence in deciding which ffp you convert your points into...and i have almost a million points waiting to be converted, as i cannot decide which ffp to use....

jack, i have never redeem full with kf, only part redemption as i don't have that many miles in kf....i have trial check kf for mel and bne about 4-5 months ahead, but can never find a confirmed seat...always waitlist....i don't want to commit my points into kf and be stuck...on the other hand, enrich is pretty crappy at the moment...

Perhaps you can try this method which my uncle does for KF (he's a Solitaire), call KF center once you have available dates, put a hold / reservation on the ticket then only do the TP transfer from MBB to KF. I was surprised at the duration he was able to hold the ticket. For eg, flight depart in 2nd May 2017, the agent put a hold on the ticket for him till end Mar 2017. By then, he needs to have the points and payment to confirm the ticket.

This way, you keep your TP in MBB acc and only transfer when required.
*
I didn't know they can "hold" a booking...but i presume calling the call centre will mean no 15% discount?...

QUOTE(raist86 @ Nov 2 2016, 04:53 PM)
by the way, did i mentioned that you can do date change for award redemption? it's an awesome feature. There's a small fee, but this flexibility gives more peace of mind for bookings so far in advance. This applicable for F and J class. For economy, you may be required to top up the miles (if redeemed using the lowest class ticket).
*
That would also be dependent on whether seats are available on the flights you want to change to...ie easily available....if the dates you want are already wait listed, then booking on any available date and changing will not help...

do you have experience with CIMB Enrich Platinum?

did another round of trial bookings....

cannot see any 30% discounts originating from msia...

but for april 17, no difficulty getting return j tickets to oz with 94k miles and rm1.9k....compared to 120k miles and rm1.2k....

ed: note that this came from the m2c premier thread...the context is which ffp to convert points into...and the question is about the ease of availability of redemption tickets in the 3 ffp treatspoint can convert into....
