I was actually thinking of getting the 65" since it is at a good price range for me. But with no HDR, I have to reconsider. Anyway thx bro. Good info. I thought this series got HDR as well.

Hdr or no hdr is not important compared to actual image quality. You can have tons of specs but still look horrible. How successful is the hdr implementation is more important.

Hdr tries to improve contrast and colours, but is still limited to lcd limits. Which means, it will never have unlimited contrast and perfect black level. Which means, it will never beat any Oled tvs.

Thanks for the input bro. As you can see, I game on PS4, and with the latest HDR update, a lot of existing games is going to implement the HDR feature. Not to mention, all the latest one will support HDR. According to most review, the HDR really a game changer for most games. Hence that is why I am looking for HDR support for the TV.

The criteria is the same, still boils down to image quality and for games response time must be acceptable. Bring your PS4 to test the tv before buying.

This thread finally convinces me to go for the 50UE630X which I got for a super price of about RM2.6k....bought during the Black Friday Sale from GEMFive.

Did compare this model against UHDs from LG and Sony within the same price point in Harvey Norman ( RM3k+ ) and to my eyes the upconverter engine in both Sony and LG are inferior to 630X. That was the main deciding factor for me, plus the feeble Sony speakers didnt help as well.

And I'm loving the Android thumbsup.gif

A small tip here for ue630x.

There is no new firmware so far, but there is an apps optimzation auto downloaded, ready for activation. Need to go to settings, restart.

If u find any or yr installed android apps having problems like no video audio only, do the restart, all will be good again.

A very good and slim tv if you are ok with Sony's softer type of colors. Images are sharp and nice but the sound is honestly quite terrible. Comes with a good Android TV feature.

Onr living told me android os on tv are not so nice to use. Any truth behind this, both shop salesman claim it is clunky and laggy unlike android phone.

there are various platforms for smart tv's - lg has own, panasonic has own, samsung has own. sony-philips-sharp adopted google's androidtv platform which is essentially the same found in most tablets, phones and boxes.

still, the older smart tv models of sony-philips-sharp may be of a restricted kind, i.e. it is confined to certain apps, certain features, e.g. can't access google playstore, can't sideload apps. the newer models, incl uhd4k models should have the full google androidtv.

this particular sharp ue630x has androidtv is a 5.1 with >9gb memory for use. it is as fast and easy as my tablet, phone and box. if u know google android, u will enjoy this tv's android, no hassle.

but no sound problem when playing same clip (both online and offline) via my android box blink.gif, so i think it's not the tv speaker or media source problem rclxub.gif

Poping audio noise seems to be a known problem with sharp ue630x, you should report to sharp service.
