sure will report back here tmr, only make a trip cause its nearby my place.

but lock in 5 years could be good in case year 3-5 opr drops?
*
Yes, you got a point here, 5 years is good to prevent if
OPR drops in next 5 years; but vise versa lah..if OPR goes up..
we will cry also no tear at that time...

Just like my OCBC 3.87% 18 months FD, OPR went up in 3 months after
I place it... sad.gif

95% of change tomorrow I will go back to Am Bank to change it to 2 years 4.6%..

Did you get any gift?

QUOTE(lowya @ Oct 20 2015, 10:48 PM)
ah.. this is pro level of analysis...  notworthy.gif

but in few hours time action (or not action) need to be taken.

whats the conclusion bro?
*
If we calm down and use logical thinking, we are supposed to change to 2 years
4.6%.

The main reason is that 4.55% probably is not good enough to secure us
in 5 years tenure.

So the conclusion is: we'd better change to 4.6%, furthermore our RM currency is
dropping recently. Maybe property bubble is coming in 2017, then we can use this money
to buy cheap property leh..?

no gift given by ambank, a bit stingy isnt it?

if u have view that opr will go up in 5 years time, that is the right move to go for shorter term with high rate. (logical thinking)

but i have zero prediction ability of opr in 5 years time, so i guess 0.05% is small unless u got 1 mil in there then it's worth the effort or parking, queuing waiting..

If you asked, most probably they would give you something like an umbrella.

Life is a gamble, nobody can predict future. But we can only take a guess or
professionals call it forecasting.

If want to continue with 5 years also can lah, at least we find a 5 years shelter
for this part of money.

If I got one million in Am bank, for sure I will change to 2 year 4.6%..

Have tried to do online withdrawal for UOB's FD. But though today is due date, the FD is still NOT updated online. So tomorrow will have to take a look if I can do online termination. Then save a trip to UOB.  biggrin.gif

@gsc, I did not see any leng lui RM there, do you ?  brows.gif

One of my UOB  FD's 6 month interest was paid one day later 2 weeks ago. System problem ?  hmm.gif
*
UOB has changed the system. There is a KPI (key performance index) on the counter staff on time taken to process transaction All forms have to be filled in first before proceeding to the counters. Very unfriendly to customers. Was told to go to customer service counters to get the form filled in but all the staffs were fully occupied. Comparatively Ocbc and Citi bank are much better in customer service.

Bbgoat, UOB on average has more young leng lui compared to that of Ocbc.

Late one day payment on interest ? Thought you monitor your FD and renew on mature day? You better find out why and may be other members also affected but didnt reliase.

Uob does not allow to top up on matured FD like last time to enjoy the promo rate. The IBG is Rm1 and Rentas is rm5.

By the way, Ocbc has called to collect the hugo boss pen.

For the 3days loss, the 4.6% 2years becomes 4.58% 2 years.
0.03% different + earlier maturity.

oh no wonder, the CS girl insisted on filling up the BC form. But there were so few customers and when my number is up, the form is still not completed yet.

Haha, are you comparing UOB PB centre with OCBC PB centre ? Then I would say OCBC PB centre wins hands down ! drool.gif UOB PB centre ignoring that their PB centre is old, the staff there are probably old timers there. You know what I mean. biggrin.gif tongue.gif

As the amount is small, also I want to combine that FD to another amt tomorrow, so I did not go to UOB to withdraw that FD. If I go on DAY of maturity, then it is no issue. But I tried the online uplift, so the principle with the interest only appear online one day later. CB's eFD will appear on the day of maturity. UOB's one is NG as one would lose one day interest. Except it is placed OTC and not online (UOB's one).

I have collected the Hugo Boss pen yesterday and see the leng lui there again. So my vote is still OCBC PB centre leng lui, best among the PB centres in Penang. drool.gif drool.gif tongue.gif

I went to UOB two days ago to place FD and was served by a young lady. Throughout the account opening process, I just need to sit in front of her desk and passed her the cheque only. She helped me to open a Savings Account, and a FD account at her desk, not even needed to go to other counter except made the initial deposit at ATM.

My experience: UOB lenglui is more friendly and professional that OCBC lenglui.

just a heads up on the EPF amended act to be passed soon!

"...the Bill also seeks to introduce a new section to provide that any contribution that has been credited into the account of a member after he or she has attained the age of 55 may only be withdrawn when the member turns 60."
