QUOTE(SKYjack @ Dec 10 2015, 10:52 PM) I also think it may be fuel or fuel pump related. Although the failure is intermittent, I'm surprised the SC is not able to identify the defect from the log. You may want to try Balakong. I was having the same problem yesterday while driving. Totally lost the turbo power in sudden and struggling to climb up hill. My RPM went up to 6k or 7k while driving from idle. Except mine comes with error shown "Engine fault. Repair needed". Tried stop start the car but the error still persist.Strange enough that I tried again this morning and no more error and the power came back to normal. I'll drive to Kajang SC for a diagnose tomorrow. I realized that quite numbers of 308 and 3008 owners had the same issue due to various factor. http://kampungtoys.com/2012/09/15/puegeot-...-repair-needed/ This post has been edited by net_mave: Dec 13 2015, 07:16 PM |

QUOTE(vknight @ Dec 3 2015, 09:57 PM) Hi Guys Hi GuysI gave my car for service last Saturday and still in Glenmarie because of the issue I informed you guys before. I called them today to ask for status. It seems the main technician said the continuous pull back is due to engine ECU and waiting for approval to be replaced. Also, the items are recalled - Temp Sensor and Water pump. Getting worried the minute they touch this parts other issues will crop up. Just keeping you guys informed in case you have similar problem Just to keep you guys updated. My car finally came back. The ECU was changed and costs around RM4335 - Under Warranty. Also did the 1 year service which came to around RM480. Car is smooth now. My wife pushed to 170 and the car was smooth. The temperature sensor and water pump changed under "Recall". |

It could be an ECU problem also, but quite rare. ECU is the heart of the complete engine operation, from stat up to shut down. So far, only bro vknight had ECU changed. Keep us posted, tq & hope yr car gets fixed soon!Strange enough that I tried again this morning and no more error and the power came back to normal. I'll drive to Kajang SC for a diagnose tomorrow. Alas, SC at Kajang and Balakong all closed today due to Selangor public holiday..Same thing happened to a friend who owned 3008. It was diagnosed with issue of carbon buildup in engine. Everything went back to normal after decarb.. Anyone done the decarb for their 408 turbo? |

QUOTE(vknight @ Dec 12 2015, 05:33 PM) actually i did coating after 1st year ownership. The coating last about 8 months and almost gone which i went back for a recoating under warranty. The 2nd coating was not done as thorough as the first coating but still it last for about 1 year. The reason for the longer lasting as compared to 1st coating was because i also bought a bottle of mixture coating from the shop. it is meant to keep the coating lasting. My personal experience with coating. It is troublesome. you will keep on worrying about the coating not lasting, birdshit that is eroding the coating and paint, tiny scratches which you can't wax or polish it off due to warranty issue. The need to wash your car very frequently due to dust gets into coating and stick to it making it hard to wash off(the only way is to wax of polish, but it will void your warranty.) As a result, i did not go back to the shop as the shop owner was telling me politely that i am already claiming 2 times warranty and i should not be doing that anymore. I was quite unhappy but i guess that is life. you learn from mistakes. what did i do after that? i just send my car for polish, i wax the car every now and then when i feel like to, scratches are gone, car is superb white after wash and wax. i dont have to worry what i used to worry when the car was coated. conclusion, save that money for wax, polish and saves your time, saves your energy and brain cells for worrying the coating that will be like this like that....... what i meant looks old is the design . Why we love this car? i believe its the power of the engine and the acceleration! cornering, going up hill, overtaking...wow! i can't really complaint more about this car. heheh |

QUOTE(net_mave @ Dec 14 2015, 01:24 PM) Alas, SC at Kajang and Balakong all closed today due to Selangor public holiday.. Bro, your engine does not need a decarb so soon. Carbon deposit build up on the 408thp is not so fast as on the older 3008 and older Pugs. In fact the 408thp engine is so reliable, if not mistaken,as of 2014 all 1.6thp Pugs & Citroens sold in Malaysia were fitted with this version of Prince engine - EP6CDTM. I am very sure, your problem is not carbon deposits!Same thing happened to a friend who owned 3008. It was diagnosed with issue of carbon buildup in engine. Everything went back to normal after decarb.. Anyone done the decarb for their 408 turbo? Engine repair is a common message which can be triggered for a number of defects. This engine is further refined(better fc & emissions standards) for facelift Pugs! EP6FDT/EP6FDTM - depending on model. This post has been edited by SKYjack: Dec 15 2015, 09:01 AM |

I still didn't do it cos I felt it would be quite laborious trying to keep it clean. My efforts were directed more towards the mechanics of the car!My personal experience with coating. Of course scratches is inevitable and coating is not scratch proof. Coating is just meant to make the car look cleaner for a longer period. Example, i wash my car every week and everytime after wash, it really looks like it just got polish and waxed. Also, water doesnt stick to your car that easily hence reducing the watermarks. Also, stains and dirt all comes off easily. After reading your post, at least I don't feel so guilty... But then again, you still need to take care of it after coating la. With coating, it doesnt mean you no need clean your car and take care of it. And every now and then, must go for treatment to sort of like replenish the coat. But again, each to their own la...... |

But of course i always send my car back to the shop for car wash (purchase own Meguairs car shampoo), sometimes wash at roadside. My car is 2 years 5 months old, still looking glossy and new!
