Guys, sorry for another questions which I forgot to ask earlier.
Will there be any charges if I apply Unifi VIP 20 but later I cancel the application when technician found out that they will need to drill my wall to upgrade wires?
*
There is no need to "upgrade wires" for any plan upgrade.

Finally I know how TM charge for my credit limit: first two months monthly fee, phone charges and others. The bill is late for 1 week after they told me I've used up 70% of my credit limit, and I already made the payment. When that time I called TM, the bodoh staff can't give me any detail for it. TM CS really sucks, FU TM!

Don't let this isolated incident deter you from asking further questions.

There are many kind people here who are willing to provide answers, in a very nice way. smile.gif

If you live in highrise, surely no drill.

For landed, if they use FTTH, then installer just needs to find a way for the fiber to come into your house.
If you got "passage" for the fiber to come in, then no need to drill at all.

Go read... https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...ion-Guides.aspx

For landed property, basically, a fibre cable needs to be connected from outside your home to a ONU (modem) in your home.

I also switched from VIP10 to UniFi 30Mbps, since 2 weeks ago.

Have not really tried to download from file sharing networks. No difference for normal web surfing due to the way HTTP & TCP works, in addition, the contents are too small to feel the difference.

Speed tests have been ok, constantly getting > 30Mbps download and > 5Mbps upload (do take note on the 5Mbps upload speed for UniFi 30Mbps package), but that is provided I connect via cable or HomePlug, NOT wireless.

for UniFi 30Mbps, you must take up one HyppTV pack, minimum RM30 for Aneka (Malay) OR Varnam (Indian) pack. I took Ruby Pack (Chinese) for RM40.

In your bill, it will be itemized as follows for the Internet access:

UniFi 30 Monthly Fee: RM169

Then in HyppTV Residential section will be itemized your HyppTV pack that you are subscribed for.

So in other words, the UniFi 30Mbps is only RM169 but you cannot subscribe it without a HyppTV pack.

I remember reading somewhere that TM may provide that option in the future, but will it ever happen is anybody's guess. Normally those without TV or does not need HyppTV (because they have Astro) will be 'forced' to take either Aneka or Varnam (cheapest at RM30) pack.

YouTube depends. Normally if the video is already cached in the local TM server, it should stream optimum at 1080. For those who have the problem of slow streaming at 144 or 240, usually the trick is to manually set to 1080, then reload the web page and normally it will work fine after that. Take note that YouTube streaming works over HTTP -> TCP. TCP has flow control feature that slows down transmission per connection if there is congestion (normally at the international link), hence sometimes it doesn't work well. You can get full torrent speed because the downloading is done via multiple TCP connections.
